Just purchased a 2022 CR-V Touring AWD in white platinum yesterday. I’m coming from a 2017 Ford Escape Titanium (Top Trim) in pearl red. The CR-V absolutely blows the Escape out of the water in every way!!!. The fit and finish, gas mileage and materials is head and shoulders above the Escape. If your on the fence just buy or lease one or at least take one for a test drive. The next model year their is going to be a total redesign of the CR-V but I’ve seen some pictures, I prefer this body style 100%. I hope this helps, thanks
I have a 2017 EX-L with 45k miles. I paid $28.5k new. It gets 35-40 mpg. It accelerates up to interstate speeds smoothly, quickly, and quietly. It has the largest cargo volume of any compact SUV. I’ve had experience with 15 or so vehicles over the past 20 years, and the Honda CR-V is by far the best all-around vehicle I’ve ever had.
Purchased this car recently and love it! Excellent driving experience and features. Ergonomically satisfying, enjoyable to be in and to drive. Lots of room, high quality interior appointments. I highly recommend it. It’s well thought and and actually also beautifully designed.
I've had the EX Hybrid for about 3 weeks and absolutely LOVE this vehicle. The ride is so smooth my dog no longer gets car sick. It's too smart for its own good. Thanks for explaining some of these features. I've been learning something new almost daily. Like a simple touch of the door handle opens or locks it...my key stays in my purse. Amazing review!
@@KINGWD0110 I haven't noticed anything, I live in Southern California and it's been pretty warm since I bought my CR-V. I also have less than 1k miles.
This was a very fair review! I would say that Honda may have intentionally left some things out in order to attract people to their Acura RDX ;) As far as sound, yes... I have to use my phone and the Dolby Atmos Music DSP to really make the system shine. As far as the CVT, some people hate them, others love them. Coming from a Mustang GT, I understand; however, the CVT has infinite ratios which actually makes it best for merging on the interstate... and Honda makes the best CVT around!
We just bought a 2021 Silver CR-V Touring model a few weeks ago and love it! It's got grey leather interior and we live in FL, so won't need the heated seats 🤣, but the dealership didn't have any EX-L's with grey seats, only BLACK leather! Too hot in Central FL! We got a very good deal on it since we didn't trade in anything! It drives so great and we're still learning all the features on it 😀 Your video was very helpful and well done 👏 Thanks!
I just bought and I am loving. It’s comfortable roomy. It’s just a great suv. Easy to yous computer screen. Because being 60 am not good with digital stuff.
We bought our CRV new in 2002 (03 model year) - it now has 107K miles and still going strong! It just now needs new brakes lol Im hoping to drive it maybe another year -18 months until we get a new vehicle. Luckily ive worked from home since 2008 so that cuts down on the amt of miles i drive it
For some reason Honda still doesn’t even have the option for a pano roof or 360° cam on the cr-v or passport. Hopefully on the remodel we get those things!
@@TheGenesisNicdao Id rather they increase the price, at least as an option or higher trim, than not have the features available at all. Seems like a huge miss.
@@natepulliam9191 mine isn’t even close to 2000 miles on it yet, it’s at the dealership for the second time, rear sway bar bolts were super loose making noise & not tracking right, then a week or so later the brake system failure light kept coming on, they gave me a loaner Accord until they can get parts, I’m upset over it, always loved Honda’s never had problems
Just test drove one and then found your review. I found all of what you said accurately describes my experience. Would like a passenger side storage capacity separate from driver console for say hubbies wallet and cell etc. On the rav its in the passenger dash area.
Damn, nice video and smooth shots. Can't seem to find anything but the black leather in Canada. Anyone know how to end up with the lighter colour leather for the Touring in Canada? Black leather is nice, but I've had eight years of black interior. WIsh Honda Canada gave more options.
I bought 2021 CR-V AWD EX the end of the month of June. I loved the car, except on one issue. ive activated the Auto Engine Idle Stop......it only works for a few days, and all of sudden it stop, it always giving that said......AUTO ENGINE IDLE STOP UNAVAILABLE. Does anyone had this issue too? or any input ?
this is not true, the oil dilution issue still exists, honda literally says that its not an issue because thats how the ngine is designed to work but its not true, dont listen to anyone who tells u its fixed
@@nathanfeatherstone9807 That's not completely true either. Have a 2020 EX CRV, 38,000 miles. No oil dilution in my case, check oil every weekend. Cases of oil dilution have gone downhill since 2020 (check NHTSA data), but yeah haven't disappeared completely either.
I wish Honda CVT also had a physical first gear like that found in the Corolla/Lexus UX 200. That really helps with off the line acceleration and also long term durability.
Was kinda disappointed because no mentioning in the hybrid addition which I just purchased about a month ago, would have loved to have heard about those features that I'm still trying to learn about🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️But all in all I love my Honda CRV.....
Interesting about the headlights. I have a 2013 version, and the headlights are terrible on rural roads - it's a safety hazard. I've replaced them, but they still aren't very bright for some reason.
For real? I have a 2013 CRV just a regular model nothing fancy and it’s lights are bright as hell. People always think I have high beams on, and turn there’s on me, and then they find out the lights can get even brighter
@@TPM330 For real - I can drive with my brights on and not one flash, and they are barely bright enough. I drive on very rural roads, I don't notice an issue with city driving.
@@Berry_N are they the LED lights? And did you by it brand new? I brought mine used in 2019 with only 41,000 miles and the only lighting problem I have are the inside lights but I never use them anyway
@@TPM330 bought the car new - found a number of other people on the Honda forums with the same issue. Replacement headlights made it better, but seems like they faded. Just traded in for a Subaru, so happy to have well-lit roads again 👍
If you are driving inner city most of the times, you should just get the hybrid. Your gas savings will offset the cost difference in about two years. And your ride quality will be better because of less engine noise.
@@sezaboy2940 Yes true - a bit faster and about 7% more fuel efficient. Of course if you have the cash - get an accord hybrid and get reliable, faster and way more efficient - for a price.
What about the non hybrid accord? As an African living in africa, hybrid cars will get a hard time to penetrate the market. Gasoline engines will continue for more years to come.
@@reywhitney5449 are you saying MSRP is 30500 + tax + 4 yr maintenance. I think it's a little high price. I declined the extended warranty because car comes with 3/36000 bumper to bumper already and all the extended warranty start from the day you buy. So initial 3 yrs of extended warranty is of no use if you dont drive too much. RIght now the inventory is low so dealers has upper hand. You really can't negotiate the price.
I have a 2017 which was the year that had the oil dilution concern. We did have the recall performed but we never had any issues regardless. The car performed flawlessly and got great gas mileage. We are now trading in for a 2021 CRV as we were offered a great trade in value. The 2021 will be our 4th CRV. We have loved them all.
2017 through 2018 were the years to stay away from. In 2019 it was fixed mostly, 2020 and newer the issue is very rare. I suspect some extra reliability enhancements were made to the turbo on years 2020 and newer in addition to the previous software update..
As much as I love the cargo space and rear legroom, Honda really messed up on this 2021 CR-V model. First of all, if you choose the base LX trim, you're stuck with the tiny 5 inch LCD screen which has no Apple Carplay and no Android Auto. A small 1.5 liter turbo engine (notorious for oil dilution) is powering this huge heavy SUV. I mean, turbo is already stressing out the engine and the heavy SUV curb weight just adds more stress. Finally it has a CVT and that too a regular CVT, not the CVT with a physical first gear found in Toyota/Lexus. Yeah, this is a hard pass. Sorry Honda. Do Better.
They have the Hybrid available, and that powertrain choice has been reliable. And even if you get the 1.5t, their CVTs have been reliable. Also, the dilutiongate issue that plagued the 1.5t has been solved in 2019-2020
Dont buy this crap I bought last week didn't drive 20 miles so need jumpstart now again next day again jumpstart text sales man for return did not get text back
Jumpstart? Sounds like you need a new battery... Pretty common on these cars battery drain if left parked fit more than 3-4 days... They come with small batteries from factory. Solution is to buy a bigger capacity battery. Mechanically everything else on this car is a great.
