I’m installing the Honda Centerstand on my NC750X today. I’ve never installed one before or even owned a bike that had one. I’m hoping this will make it easier to perform regular chain maintenance and oil level checks.

Tank you sir. Centerstand installed with your help. The springs was most work.

Those springs were tough! I definitely don't want to do that one again 😀

Thanks in no small part to your series of wonderful videos about the NC750X, I bought a 2022 model myself last Saturday (Feb 5). After 1 week and 300 or so miles, it is true love! Naturally, I ordered an oem centerstand and it arrived today. I followed your first approach thinking that if I couldn't get the main spring attached I would fall back on the alternate. I must have struggled for 30 minutes without success , but I had had such difficulty getting the shaft installed even without the springs attached, I was reluctant to try the alternate approach. Then I had an idea that worked so well that others might benefit from it. I found a scrap 4 foot piece of 3/8 inch braided rope that has very little stretch and got a 30 inch breaker bar (any stiff rod or board would work) from my tool bench. I made a small loop in one end of the rope and passed it over one end the the t-handle on the spring tool and then the other so that the loop was under the main shaft of the spring tool but over both ends of the t-handle. With any strain on the rope, the grip on the spring tool was quite secure. Then I made another small loop toward the other end of the rope so that the opening in the loop would be just a few inches short of the back of the rear wheel. I then inserted the breaker bar though this loop so that about half of the bar was on either side, put one end behind the rear wheel, grabbed the other end with my left hand and pushed back. The leverage was enough that with little effort, I got the main spring closer to the hook that I had been able to do before. Pushing the bar this way with some additional force from my left knee, I could use my right hand to twist the t-handle of the spring tool and, bingo, the hook snapped right into place. Is there anything more satisfying than prevailing against an inanimate object bent on your destruction? 😊

All I had to do was put parachute cord around the inner spring and ratchet strap it around the wheel pull back and went on easy and pull out the cord then do it again for the outer spring. The rod install took 5 minutes. Hopes you used loctite and I greased the shaft with marine lithium grease for water protection. Plus prevents corrosion hence used on Boat trailers.

thank you for this video, and have only good rides. I am getting my NC750x today with side stand only. I will see, if I am going to need/want a center stand

Hi I just subscribed to you because I'm interested in buying a NC750X for myself. (Only on the fence because of the lack of cruise control, I think it was a huge missed opportunity) You have a really good presentation, nice videos! I think your channel has a lot of potencial.

Thanks for the video installation looks pretty straight forward I bought the same bike new last year as my first bike. I've been debating between getting a center stand or a rear stand for chain maintenance but still haven't decided. My carport is on a slight incline would it be safer to use a center stand or rear stand on an incline like that? There is a more even dirt patch across the street if I absolutely need to be flat, it just seems like a waste to take my bike down to the shop for a cleaning and adjustment when I have the tools to do it myself.

Yeah! Another video! Very helpful info in case I need to do the same. Question... does the bike need to be stopped before changing riding modes? My husband just added a nice top rack on my bike this weekend...I really like it. Thanks for sharing this! 👍

You can change riding modes while moving but you do have to close the throttle before it will be able to activate. Hope that helps 😀

Another great video. I installed mine yesterday on my 2022 NC 750X DCT. I tried both ways and finally opted to use a ratchet strap. I wrapped one end of the strap around the rear tire and put a 2x4 across the tire so the strap wouldn't hit the brake rotor. I then took a short piece of leech line (non-stretchy, high-strength rope) and put it around the springs and attached it to the other end of the ratchet strap. It was amazingly easy to do and I was able to do it by myself in just a few minutes (after messing around with the other 2 methods.)

There is no backward effort required. You simply need to push straight down with your foot and pull straight up with your hand on something solid on the bike.

Great Video, What is the torque Value for the exhaust bolts?

Hi. Thank you for the videos I’m doing my full uk license and I’m definitely going for the NC. Your videos are fantastic and I thank you for that. So usb charger n main stand covered. I’ve definitely subscribed to your channel and keep checking in to see what else I can do. Do you know if the Oxford heated grips are a plug n play or needs to be put in to the loom of the bike ?? Again great videos keep them coming.
@KSSTUDIOS

I'm not sure about the Oxford grips, but I would guess that they would need to be plugged into a spare electrical connector on the wire loom.

FYI, there was no joy in the alternate method either. Trying to line up the the shaft with the hole while dealing with the significant tension on the spring was very challenging.

hey i traded in my 2022 Street Twin for a 2021 Honda NC750x standard transmission with 2k miles on her…Cost me $1k vs $5k to get a Tiger 660. Honda has mad stand shield and all Givi racks and crash bars installed and center stand fender extender battery tender…i’m pretty sure if i bought the a tiger i would be driving too fast. The Honda is great commuter. There is so much wind protection i can leave my helmet shield up and no air gets in. No vibrations at 80 mph. Wind does not move me at all….it’s a big red couch coming down the road. Givi hard cases and top case ordered. my helmet fits in the frunk too

I've never commented on a RU-vid video before but I wanted to mention something I noticed in this video. At 8:19 you are attempting to put 16 ft/lbs of torque on a bolt. By placing your right hand on the shaft of the torque wrench you are not going to get 16. The torque wrench is designed to apply the designated torque when gripped at the base of the shaft. It's usually knurled in that area. I hope you don't mind my two cents. I'll be installing the centre stand on my '22 nc750x next week. Jeff in Canada

Thanks for the comment. Great observation. Sometimes when recording the video footage I'm forced into an awkward position. I did go over the bolt a couple more times while holding the torque wrench better but it blocked the camera and the footage couldn't be used.
@user-wg5yu5ob6r
@user-wg5yu5ob6r 8 месяцев назад
As long as the torque wrench is set properly and you hear the click, you're good. Torque is equal to Force X Distance to the bolt. If you apply the force at the end of the shaft, it requires less effort, if you apply it anywhere else along the shaft it requires more effort since the distance is less. ie, 10 lbs X 1 foot = 10 ft-lbs and 20 lbs X O.5 foot = 10 ft-lbs also.

Hi i bought the same model with original centre stand but my rear tyre seems to be lifted higher than yours and it looked ugly. Any reason for it to be such?
@KSSTUDIOS
@KSSTUDIOS Год назад
Not sure why it would be different if it's the same stand (and installed correctly). They aren't adjustable at all.

Tested the other way and that so not work at all..the axel is stuck as h-ll.the springa bend the stand so it almost impossible to stick in the bolt..a crowbar and steel string and bent the springs and push it in place works for me

I realize you no longer own the NC750X, but it looks like the foot peg, the side stand in the up position, and the center stand in the up position are very close together. Did you have any trouble deploying either stand without hitting the other? Guess I'm asking because I have wide feet. And thanks for your high-quality videos. I'll miss those for the NC.

I used a ratchet strap after I had inserted one side of the pivot pin. No effort required 😊
