The thing is, you can't just customize to add options. There are certain features only offered in elite. (Multiple seat warmers, kick lift gate, vacuum) you can't add those to an LX, ex, ex-l, or touring. No matter, at any level the 2021 odyssey is an excellent choice. We went with the touring version ourselves as I wanted the in cabin safety features and they just weren't offered until that level. The dvd player and dash do look antiquated... but all in all it's a much more superior choice we felt. Thank you for your response and review.

We are give fully loaded vehicles to show whats available. Most people do not buy them this way, you are correct. But this allows you to add the options that you want and the ones you need.

Own a 2021 Odyssey touring and LOVE it. Do wish the passenger seat was as adjustable as drivers and heated second row. Otherwise 100% happy with our Honda.

I missed my 2003 Odyssey! The most fun and comfortable minivan ever. 😂😂😂 If you forgot that your kid is in the car, you have no business of having one! I would buy the new one but I am not in the market for one now.

Very comprehensive review Lauren. As a lifelong honda owner (nearly all stick shift) the car is really at the top of the heap. Id never go for the elite. Too much stuff that isn't necessary.

Thank you! I prefer manual transmissions as well, but they haven't been on minivans in years. Some people just love all the goodies. Most are not needed.

My 2018 Odyssey was a lemon. First owner traded it in at 3,000 miles. I had it for 2 years and it was always in shop. The final straw is when it slammed on the breaks in the middle of the intersection almost causing us to be t-boned with my kids in the car. That was the worst car I have ever owned. Traded it in and I feel bad for the 3rd owner.

I haven’t forgiven Honda stylists for incorporating what I call the lightning bolt at the window/body belt line. I remember going to a dealership the first year it appeared. Upon looking at it, I gave it a big visual thumbs down. The salesman, seeing this, said “I know, right?”

My 2009 Odyssey is a lemon... the review makes it sound great, but there are still a few features I don't like and after having one that is falling apart left and right, not planning on going into another Honda for a while...

It is a great minivan, but in Canada we need AWD. I have been driving Oddesey since 2012, and i like the ride, but driving in winter is challenging even with winter tires, When can we get one with AWD as I am. Considering new Sienna AWD?

Sure is odd that Honda does not offer AWD on their minivan. Living in snow, AWD can be a huge plus. Toyota has ditched the V6 but it wins in fuel economy over the competition.

@ Mike: True...AWD is a BIG deal for many of us (if we can't have true 4x4), but STILL not available on the Odyssey, whereas Toyota's Sienna has had AWD for a while now. If the Odyssey had it -- and Honda's iVTM4 AWD system is excellent! -- it'd top the Sienna. -- BR (2016 Honda Pilot EX-L AWD currently...until (if) I go for a Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 come Spring)

Does the "snow" mode that the Odysseys have replace the need for AWD? I thought that if it is in snow mode it gives it more traction therefore eliminating the need for AWD. Forgive me if I am getting it wrong but I thought that was what that feature is for.

With snow tires, the Odyssey will stop long before awd vehicles without snow tires If you buy the Odyssey, and drive in winter, get winter tires.

My 2011 has a known design issue. Honda refuses to fix it. Honda Quality 1.2.

Did they finally fix side vent window motors that wouldn't last 6mos for over 10yrs and cost $100 to replace each! Why u always buy Toyota Sienna!

honda guys come on,... where is 360-view cam???,.. where is awd option?????,.. where is panoramic roof option?????,....,.. where is the timing chain instead of really creepy timing belt?????,... where is hybrid version??????,... where is diesel or cng or lpg version options???? and also higher clearance option would be great on awd version. and one more thing the additional front lights would be great. a lot females driving vans da at night-time females have significantly worse vision than males. you must add those things and will become a #1 van. generally odyssey is a great car but it's missing critical features. this is deal-breaker.

I was with you until you said diesel. No, man. Diesel is dead for passenger vehicles. Hybrid and electric are the future.

@@lkae4 yes future is for e.v. but internal combustion engines still here for next 20-years and why not the diesel?? diesel and gas will go away together in 20-years

Try hauling anything across the country with gas or EV, the increased costs of removing diesel will cost you more for goods and services. Most of us aren’t getting raises, so we will all pay the additional expenses. Typical government interferences is very short sighted.
