Learn how to use wp mail smtp plugin to send email from wordpress using smtp which will make sure your emails will go to the inbox of your users.
This is the most updated tutorial about wpmail smtp plugin in 2021. My previous video • How to setup Wordpress... because of recent google change I had to update this.
For this tutorial we are using gmail smtp api. You can send max 500 emails per day with google account.

Your video was really helpful because of 1. You captured all the points perfectly in detail enabling non technical guy to do the SMTP setting s on his own. 2. May be there is a slight change in the interface and all the videos capture sort of different interface.

Hi - your email helped but it needs to be updated as the screen processes have changed a lot since you made this video. Managed to work trough it but would be better if it now matched the most recent screens and processes. Thanks for your video.

I use a business acount and it works as well. But i do wonder a few things. 1 is it possible to just add multiple client id's for multiple websites and do the all get the 500 emails per day? 2. is there a overview of how much emails per day you have used? thanks for your great video!

You can create multiple ids or use same on multiple sites I have not tried it. 500 emails is per Gmail account I guess which is used for Google cloud. I never reached the limit so cannot confirm.

Anyone figured out why it's showing page not found error message? I followed all the steps and when I try to continue with "Allow plugin to send emails using your google account" it doesn't work. It redirects to my site with a page not found error.

Hi Brian I have recreated a new project with same method as in video and found no issue.. Please check your email for screenshots. One small thing you can try changing is at 2:39 (timestamp) on step 4 you can skip the authorized javascript origin and just add a redirect URI. I suspect the issue could be some security plugin or config.

Hi, So I set this up and the test email works successfully, however when I add the WP Form to my contact page there seems to be no email. Basically I successfully set everything up, however when people try to contact me vie the contact form I am still not getting any emails. Any idea? Thank you!

I would recommend getting a marketing email SMTP for that purpose. Google free SMTP is not meant for sending marketing emails.

I followed the instructions twice and each time WP showed a success then a failed screen. Each time I saved settings on the SMTP it erased the from email and would not allow me to enter another unless I canceled and then the process started all over again only to send me to an alias screen to buy a product from WP. What am I doing wrong again I followed step by step twice with the same result.

This allows you to select any alias email connected to your gmail.

@@smarthelpguides - I did that and I still don't get the, "Register your application for Gmail API in Google Cloud Platform" page. I create a project and then click your link and get an, "Enable access to API" page. step 1: confirm project, step 2: enable API. I believe that I need to do this manually. Enable the API on the "Enable Access to API", which will activate the API on this project. Then I think I need to go to API & Services, Credentials, Create OAuth client ID and go through the steps then?

Yes enable api then select gmail api. I couldn't verify whole process because of other work. I will update with complete details after few days whenever possible.

Unfortunately the video doesn't work anymore that Google changed the interface entirely. Almost nothing in the video matches what cloud platform has now. Maddening. Google sucks.

You can reverse any major changes just by deactivating the SMTP plugin. The method shown is correct, there should not be any issue .

@@smarthelpguides Thank you for your reply! I certainly wasn't meaning to complain about your vid I'm sure it was valid when made. For me the steps don't match the interface starting around @1:43. I got all tangled up and nothing works now so yeah starting over it is.
