My JS-1 should be arriving in a week or so.. would the new Fettec 35A AIO be a realistic option? It needs to be a AIO because I intend on trying to fit a Vista above it. If its not a good idea I'll probably try the iflight Beast F7 STD AIO instead. Thanks.

I am trying to get into drone racing and building my first drone, really like this build could I use any remote and Goggles with this build

I would recommend a remote (Radio) that's OpenTX compatible and as far as goggles go, Everything from Fatshark through to SkyZone etc

Would u recommend using the tbs sixty9 vtx + tracer ?

For this build I don't reccomend it because I haven't tried it yet. One of our friends HashbrownFPV is trying it atm so hopefully we will find out soon! Having said that the JS-1 is really optimised for the TBS nano video transmitters and separate nano receivers and It allows for versatility with changing RX's for longrange etc! A few people have been asking about this though so I think I will get some sixty9 boards to try and see if there is a nice way we can implement it properly into the build or possibly cook up something special specifically to run it! :D

Both are possible but currently with separate pod designs. The DJI version can be seen on our BMS Racing Facebook page, someone just made an upgraded version of our Thingiverse one to work better with the VISTA! -Thomas

Do you adjust the VTX via the TBS My VTX when you are wired up via Passthrough

The Passthrough is no different to connecting the VTX to the RX, just gives you a central connection point. So yes, it's adjusted through your module on your Radio, or through the Agent on the Radio itself.

@@ThomasShue No problem, This feature request even confused Foxeer, however it's one of those things that really does clean up the build and if you need to replace either the VTX or RX, you're only removing connections from the FC. It just cleans everything up nicely.

I'm really curious to see the raw noise profile of that frame. Having that length of wire attached to the capacitor makes it pretty much toothless and you could go without as well.

@@noamamir0942 You are changing the capacity of the capacitor (until it becomes useless) if wiring it up instead of attaching it directly to the power source.

You can easily replicate and test for yourself. Happy running the cap exactly as it's currently being used.

@@BMSWEB It's not because of the raw noise. That won't be influenced much by running the cap at a cable from that length. Neither must it be negative for the quality of the video signal but for sure voltage spikes won't be filtered the same amount as if the cap would be directly attached to the lipo pads. You can run what you want, I wouldn't do it that way and if I had to, I would for sure use 1000uf instead of 470uf.

Hello, I have just built this exact kwad. (same motors, esc, fc) and copied your bf 4.2 config (for gold line I think) but the motors are overheating so much that it starts oscillating after a while... any suggestions

It's hard to work out exactly what the issue could be without knowing exactly how it's been built, props used etc. Having said that you may want to join the BMS Racing Group on FB where there are a number of people running this exact setup. Having said that you could look at things like: -Reduce tension of FC nuts (or remove them completely to test) -Lift wires that are touching the FC -Check that all bolts on the quad are tight

Realistically if we had designed this based around getting more market, it would have been designed very differently. This was purely designed based around what Thomas wanted in a quad and as such it limits what can be used on the frame and how you're meant to go about building and locating components. That being said, if built as intended it is truly a phenomenal racing frame. We love everything about it 😍 but then again would you expect differently lol

@@BMSWEB the market is weird man. All depends on whether you can grab the herds attention or not. Many people will buy products just because they see other people with them and don't want to miss out etc. Many great products end up being ignored because of this.

@@BoosiveFPV Yep 100% correct, Thomas wanted to design something for himself and that's exactly what the JS-1 is. Absolute beast to fly. And in all fairness we haven't really gone out of our way to try to push it. I guess the main thing is fly what you want and the most important thing is make sure you're having fun 😍

Edit: I think some people have already used Kiss and Fettec ESCs on the JS-1. I assume they worked well

Thanks for the reply. I have built 2 Kiss JS1s and am trying to figure out a tune. I was hoping for a better starting point than the stock kiss tune. FYI, I have no idea what I’m doing, so it’s adjust something and hope I don’t fry a motor… For giggles, I threw Steele’s tune at one, and already liked it better than the floaty feeling it had stock. Right now I’m faster racing a Mr Steele apex.

@@monstermechanic8670 Thomas built two Apex quads, one is BF and the other is full KISS build. He ended giving me (his dad) the Steele build. I love how it flies but I'm actually thinking of converting it to BF since I'm way more comfortable with it. Heiko Schenk, a German Racing Pilot actually races with KISS gear. He would be way more of an expert in racing with KISS than most. He's a world class pilot

Thanks for the pointer, kinda what I was looking for. Not (specifically) for you to tune my quad. And this was open for anyone’s comments… thanks. I’m not fast, at all. My approach to racing is to out survive everyone else pushing the limit. However, the more confident I get with the Apex, the harder I find myself pushing… Thus the reason to wanting to get a proper tune on the JS1s. I have another waiting to be built.

@@monstermechanic8670 Your logic is 100% on the money and it's the right approach to racing. In fact you'll find racing and freestyle actually go hand in hand.
