Worth mentioning I’m running the older kx fender 2014 model . It doesn’t have that point that interferes with the headlight bolt but otherwise looks quite similar. Bolts up the same and requires a spacer on the back bolts as well . I went with the ufo brand and the green isn’t an exact match either . Out in the sun it’s less noticeable than when it’s in the shop .
Thanks KC for doing the vid. Yeah, I noticed the color difference right away. I'll keep running it for now, but when it's time to buy a new one, I'll go with the polysport. Your idea of heating it up and making the indent is a good one. Thanks again.
Now you’ve got me thinking about the front brake hose clearance and routing. The hose has a tight stretch and sharp bend through the top guide on the triple clamp. The clearance was unacceptable with Barkbuster brand hand guards. I shortened the aluminum guard by a little over an inch but the guard is a little low due to clearance issues with the clutch cable. I see you have Tusk hand guards. I could take the brake hose loose, flip the upper guide to face forward but then the hose would interfere with the turn signal and run very close to the headlight plastic surround. Have you had these issues? I think you put out some of the best info around. Thanks.
Thank you! I had some rubbing issues where the brake line goes through the upper loop, I sliced a piece of rubber hose & slipped it over brake line in the area where it goes through the upper loop, doing fine now. My issue was due to adding bar risers, not the tusk hand guards.
Part #85745 .... On revzilla there is two shades of green. 8574500001 is green and 8574600006 is lime green. I was hoping you could shed some light on which is the correct one. Thanks KC
Thanks for the follow up. Definitely good info for anybody looking to make that purchase. Keeping doing what you do brother, one of the best dual sport channels out there.
