@@FloridaTwoWheelAdventures I am waiting on my SC seat then I am getting luggage panniers, tank bag... Then my camping set up will finally be complete!
I had the same one on my klx 250. They are great if you don't have to access your side panel or under the seat very much. I had to mine off a little too much and ended up scratching my plastic and stripping the bolt hole on the left side. Not the racks fault but more mine for not being more careful.
That is the drawback to these racks. It was the same way with my CRF250L. The scratches don’t worry so much because I’ll get plenty of those in the woods but I don’t like having to pull the rack bolts to yank the seat.
@@mikekoenig9950 the exhaust was simple too. It had a couple tricky parts during install but nothing major. Just make sure you really push the exhaust down into the head pipe or else the hanger won’t line up correctly. Oh, and be sure you wipe down everything with acetone before firing up the engine! The heat will burn your hand and fingerprint oils into the metal and they’ll always be visible! Of course if the bike is stolen, at least your fingerprints will be present for the cops to use to identify your bike! 😂
@@FloridaTwoWheelAdventures Good purchase there! It’s been crazy here and I bought the Pan America on top of it all. Got rid of my Sportster and it’s mods. I ride 1000 miles every other week to see my gal because she transferred 500 miles away. Work sleep, ride repeat. lol
@@pinkiewerewolf oh man, I really like that Pan America. I’ve contemplated selling my Triumph Tiger and buying one of those but I really love my Tiger. How do you like the Pan Am? Any gripes?
@@FloridaTwoWheelAdventures I told them to put it in the display on the showroom floor for a week or two. I'll pick it up tomorrow. I knew the KLR wasn't going to be the transcontinental ADV bike that I needed to ride to Alaska and Canada. Time will tell on the Pan America. I've put 32,000 miles on my Ultra Classic in 3 years, I really needed to spread out those miles because my gal loves riding on the Electra Glide. Plan is to ride the wheels off the Pan Am.
@@pinkiewerewolf I’m really looking forward to hearing about it! Ride it down to Florida and I’ll take some time off to spend with you riding the wheels off it down here!
Tricky. The clutch cable in particular causes some issues. I got them to work but they’re not perfectly aligned with each other. It doesn’t affect them in a negative way, it just causes my mild OCD to act up some times! LOL
You MAY want to consider getting something like Carmichael replacement handlebars, which come in multiple configurations, and are NOT too-expensive, AND will allow-for the easier installation of sturdy lever guards that anchor on both ends, since the stock KLX300 handlebars would need to be drilled and tapped, which lots of people can do, but I'm trying to save you the effort. A pair of those "Pillow Top" grips are also modestly-priced, and can be put-on, as well. It is a GOOD idea not to risk having your levers messed-up, in a bad tip-over, or by striking a tree trunk, etc., and making the bike hard, or impossible to ride. They main thing is, no matter what you put-on, is making-sure that the cables, etc., have good clearance, and allow you do turn the forks, side-to-side, etc.! :)
