*Extremely* expensive. HOWEVER, think how many people spend much, much, much more money on a second (typically sporty) car (which is of course inherently severely limited on the public highway) or (dare I say it) waste it over time on all sorts of pointless mind-altering nonsense! I say spend the money on this sort of exotic KTM uber platform and get out there and spend the time learning to get the very best out of the bike even if you'll never be a rally champ. It'll take you to all sorts of amazing places, you meet all sorts of people and it keeps you fit and hyper alert. Fantastic machine. Fantastic hobby.

I got the 890 Rally, and I am super happy with it. They call the 1290 Super Duke R the beast, but I think they gotta start to consider to give that throne to the 890 Rally.

I agree,I rode an 1190R and to me,it was a little ways past the "too dang big" effect. I dont need 150HP. The 890R yeah its pretty ridable. To me its no dirtbike,I like 2 strokes. But the 890 is REALLY fun everywhere I go.

@@bradsanders6954 yeah I had a 1290SAR. Really fun bike but just too big n heavy off-road. I'd rather use more energy having fun longer. It's not a comfortable distance bike on the street either.

I have the 790R and am 5'8" and most of times I've dropped the bike is when I'm trying to turn it around in the dirt. Short legs suck. Ha Ha

Yeah, not of our crew has a long inseam. We are in a never ending battle over ground clearance and being able to touch the ground.

I rode one of the Adventure R models this spring at a KTM Ride Day. I have been trying very hard to stay away from the dealer because I want one. I already have 13 vintage and modern off-road dirt bikes. How many does one need? Always one more.

You can have mine the throttle is awful to ride with and below 50 you have to be in 3rd, no way to have a relaxing ride on this bike

The Rally also gets the Hardparts Dirt Star narrower, tube wheel set. That upgrade is also worth close to a grand. I'd put that upgrade as number two on the list below suspension. The rest is nice, but has little impact on performance.

Agreed, the wheel upgrade is a big deal and we should have put more emphasis on that detail. When you are running and gunning making these videos, we sometimes miss things despite our best efforts to get it all down.

Im 6 foot even. 34" inseam. I barely get one foot down on my normal 890-R. Im fine with that on my dirtbikes with 39" seat heidth...................not so much with a 465 lb bike that I will have luggage on..............that much weight once it starts going down ,it is going down.

I have the S model and its getting TracTive suspension, Im 5'4" with a 26" inseam lol. Touching the ground is just a dream forme

Don’t you guys have a regular 890 Adventure R in the stable that you got a couple months ago? I thought I saw you mention that in Quinn Cody’s intro video for the 890. I’ve been waiting for some feedback, riding footage, review videos on that one. The Rally is awesome, but not what I’m currently shopping for.

We do have an 890 Adventure R. Since we have that video with Quinn, we had to prioritize other projects. We are a very small company and there just is never enough time to do it all.

"to those that wan't to go a lil faster or go diff places". The suspension on the 890 Adv R is capable and will NOT hinder you from going places.

Never said the Adventure R was not capable. The Rally is simply more refined.

You're money would be better spent setting it up for your riding vs the kit they send with the rally. That's my .02

If you aren't really working it offroad, then save the money. Most of the cost difference between an R and a Rally is the suspension. The Rally is taller too, so if you don't have a long inseam, it becomes an extra thing to navigate.

That is a serious bike. I can imagine grizzly wandering down a trail and running into it face to face. Grizzly eyes fixed sternly offers his low guttural growl, only the 890s growl wins. Grizzly hi tails it through the bushes with KtM 890 rally on his arse. 😱

I haven’t found that it struggles to tractor anything under 50mph has to be done in 3rd, not a pleasant ride at all

I disagree. a better suspension makes everyone a better rider from the novice to the pro. If you can afford it, why not. And it's all covered under warranty.

You missed the wheels! The rally comes with tubed slightly narrower rimmed wheels with DID rims

Yes we did. After we cut the video we realized we forgot them and the bike was already back with it's owner. We do try hard to nail these, but we do miss things from time to time.

The KTM 890 Adventure R Rally came from the factory with the Akrapovic muffler. It still had the standard header and catalytic converter though.
