Its an awesome luxury SUV vbut they do need a facelift and update infotainment as there are other great manufacturers coming through like Nissans luxury division Infinity with their QX60 Monograph.
@@medved4030 have you tried driving a Lexus with V8 engine? That engine is super reliable, I’m still mourning my 2001 Lexus GS 430, after getting larger luxury SUV Acura MDX for the family outgrew the Lexus sedan. The design and infotainment may be outdated but I’d trade it any day for super smooth transmission, great performance and reliability.
@Jonathan Losito couldn't find a better vehicle, but money is required for when it breaks, it will nothing large, Small things but they'll cost more. My rx330 cost 1500 to replace some high pressure steering lines. Granted they had to take off half the under hood parts to get to it.
I CAN RELATE WAY TO MUCH, to many people give the Land Cruiser so much love because of the touchscreen this doesn’t have, but when you get used to it, it’s AWSOME!
I dont care what other car manufacturer offers i.e high tech etc. This car is so much reliable that people who bought the like of range rovers will sell theirs and looking for LX 570!
I own one. Black on black. Its my 2nd LX. Love love love my 2021!(for my kids its perfect!) passed on a range, navigator, n escalade! Lx is smooth and a beast in the snow! Just got 2 feet here in NJ! No issues!! Kudo LEXUS! Ill go for a 3rd! Inspiration next! Then lease is up ill get new body!
Impeccable build quality. Legendary reliability. Unstoppable offroad performance. Resale value(2017s in my area are only 20% off of a new MSRP).That's what comes to mind with me when I think of this vehicle. When Toyota makes these, they're almost always overbuilt and designed to withstand years of abuse, which explains the many years between designs. For instance, the hydraulic/pneumatic suspension system in the LX is design to go 500K> before major servicing(shocks notwithstanding). You brothers mentioned the ride, reduced tip/pitch on accel/decel, and undisturbed ride quality. Lexus got that covered! The problem rises when faced with competition that makes the everyday experience better. Electronics, luxury experience, cabin room, cargo, fuel economy, and the expected gadget overload are seriously behind the competition. If Lexus were to completely revamp the interior, i seriously believe they could get away without full overhaul.
I agree with you. I was going to dump my Escalade a month ago. I went and test drove the Lx and I thought it drove better than my 2018, not better than the 2021 Escalade though. When the salesman told me no apple car play, no waze, and no internet connection I told him call me when the add those features. I love having all the connectivity I have at home in my truck. It means on trips everyone one has entertainment and my son works the whole day while I drive which means one extra vacation day. Everyone else can stream movies or play video games. Now traveling for 10 straight hours is wayyyyyy better.
Howdy, great review as always y’all! I don’t mind the LX and I like the capability, however for the price, I’d like to see them add new and improved tech! I can say the Hyundai Palisade is a worthy competitor to a lot of SUVS!😸😻😸
Thanks for posting. Great video Yikes what a price tag. I think Toyota knows what it is doing. I doubt I'll ever even sit in a vehicle like this one but from your great video I can day dream. Even about coupons. Great organization gentlemen I'm working on mine. My Old Kentucky home !!( sorry had to go vintage)
My only gripe is that they should steal some of Mercedes and other European manufacturers as far as the center stack. Hell even the Escalade for that matter.
@@alfredjohnson7650 I agree but maaan cmon lets keep up. I’m good with the engine but that that interior could be better especially for 100k but with that being said, it could be the best 100k one spends on a vehicle 🤷🏽♂️
I had my LX from 2009, sold it last year with a 120k KM. Great car, basically normal maintenance only nothing broke down. What i don't like is the fuel consumption from the NA engine is extremely thirsty for my country traffic. I only manage to do 33L/100km on everyday traffic 😅. And the armrest could be longer and higher so you can rest ur arm and steer. Ergonomic is quite bad on the old LX.
@@sanwright1 lol what? Why aren't we all driving cars from the 90's, 80's, or hell even rolling around in Model T's? Oh that's right, designs change and improve as times go on because that's how humanity progresses.
@@sanwright1 ah I see that makes sense. On the other hand, Lexus is missing out on customers like me that went over to the Range Rover of line to get acceptable levels of technology and creature comforts for the same price (cheaper actually). The entirety of the Toyota/Lexus SUV lineup is in desperate need of an update. When they catch up with competitors they'll get people like me back quickly.
@@atcquad My 4Runner was JUNK. My RRS has been reliable and is 5x the vehicle the 4Runner could ever hope to be. Keep being mad about not being able to afford a Range Rover 🤣
I have a 2018 one & every time I drive my wife's Land Rover Range Rover LWB, and I just cursed at myself about the luxury features her car has. However, every time I picked her up at the Land Rover dealership (many many many times), I looked like a Hero to Her, and those Land Rover salesmen just stop trying to convince me to switch from my LX570 to the Range Rover.
@@mclarenspeedtail8988 where are you from? Al Lexus cars from 2018 up to now support Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. If for some reason it’s not available on newer models in your country then it’s not Lexus’s fault. It’s quite difficult to explain why since I have no clue where you’re from. For instance, Toyota cars in the USA supports both Apple CarPlay & Android auto but in my country it’s not supported and that has to do with the dealership here that requests some features to be either added or removed. That’s all I can say for now.
It’s well known that Toyota gives the LX/Landcruiser an expected lifespan of 20 yrs and most people at that point rebuild it and keep driving it. Resale is another + too, At 10 yrs and 150k miles it’s still worth $60k
@Malik Martin Dude why the anger? I never said they had best resale value. Just simply saying the other guys comment is unrealistic. I have owned BMWs that lost 50% in 2 years.
@@ultimaterandomvids7875 damnnn bruhhh thats sad where i live u basically see land cruisers literally everywhere cz they r the most durable and reliable and also american cars(dodge, ford, Chevrolet) go for low prices cz they are not as reliable as toyotas
Great review! You were thorough and covered everything I was looking for. I'm considering on getting a used model that's a couple years old. Thought you guys were both one and the same person, until the end!
Excellent review, but other than reliability & Lexus quality, it seems a bit dated. At least it could handle all your coupons & even keep them chilled with refrigerated storage! Didn’t see that coming! Congrats on 177k subs - you guys gonna hit 250 soon! Cheers!
Because the LX 570 had become an icon of reliability and off roading! I have one and it is really boring with floaty ride a d outdated electronics and the local dealers suck!
The only issue is infotainment center. Can't beat the reliability of this vehicle. That being said I ended up going with a raptor a couple of years ago instead of this. Can't beat that smile factor the raptor gives 😀
Hmmm - well not sure if the technology was upgraded, but my 2013 LX570 - with hydraulic suspension - you cannot drive it on "Low" while "cruising on the highway". It will raise to "Normal" if you're going above 7 mph - which is the trigger for it to rise. I have yet to put it in "high" mode. So are you saying the 2021 allows you to drive it in "Low" suspension mode?
@@CarConfections thank you. That is a shame. I test drove one and I like many things about it. It’s a bit outdated for me. The dealer guy told me maybe for 2022 it will have apple car play maybe some new electronics. In the meantime I think I’ll keep my Escalade. I like all those little comfort electronics, WiFi connections touch screens etc. quality? I would agree that probably over all better quality on the LX 570 compared to the Escalade . It will remain to be seen what the 2021 Escalade brings to the table.
LOL. 2021, still no Apple CarPlay, android auto. Outdated tech and design. A lousy 425 watt system when the 2021 IS350 offers a 1800 watt Mark Levinson system. Definitely not worth 100k compared to its competitors. They could’ve easily spent the time and retrofit new tech into this but nope.
Its an awesome luxury SUV vbut they do need a facelift and update infotainment as there are other great manufacturers coming through like Nissans luxury division Infinity with their QX60 Monograph.
Incorrect. Lexus purposely does not dare change it. They created the perfect SUV based on the King of the Road Land Cruiser. If you want bells and whistles, buy and Audi that will be in for repairs every month.
Don't misunderstand this vehicle. It's a thing that not for the fancy rides. It's for the roads of country with reliability and strength. If you are looking for an entertainment, go buy a Merc or Macan. This is for though roads and no road paths which doesn't need a system for any purpose. The only thing I think this needs, a wider and bigger wheel combination. They look small. Other than that, way better than too many others. It's cheaper to service, cheaper to repair and reliable to handle heavy use. What are you looking for a thing that you drive daily?
Good lord this is out of date. Lexus has gotten so lazy and is relying way too much on their brand power. Why anyone would get this over a black label Navigator or the new Escalade, I have no idea. Once Genesis releases a competitor to this, Lexus is gonna be in trouble.
People say "reliability" but I honestly don't understand that. My parents 2004 Hyundai elantra (supposedly less reliable) is still going with over 100k of 95% city driving, with 0 mechanical problems. I also dont understand people who spend 40k for a Toyota rav4 (too much noise, not enough features for price, etc). Toyota and Lexus are getting too comfortable with their reputation...
This Lexus Needs A Complete Update Inside And Out! Yes It's Nice, Yes It's Reliable And Yes It Has Lexus Quality Built Throughout The Entire Vehicle! But Lexus Has To Add More Exterior Styling And Much More Bling To The Interior To Match The Competition! As A 30 Year Lexus Owner Of Different LS Models, I Won't Pay $100,000.00 For This Vehicle! I'd Pay This Price For A More Modern Interior And Exterior With Major Upgrades! Lexus Is Moving Way Too Slow Keeping Up With The Interiors Of Their German Competitor's. Genesis Is Also Upping Their Game With Beautiful Interiors And Exteriors At A Reasonable Price And Value! ✌️
The previous Escalade is reportedly also one of the least reliable cars this year, with very frequent quality issues. Not saying you shouldn’t get one, but it’s good to know exactly what you’re getting in.
Most people buy cars based on design, feel of acceleration, and brand loyalty. Very few actually purchase cars based on more objective measures. Unreasonable, but that's how emotional people are.
