I'm going Genesis. The G80 is stunning and elegant. The Mercedes is cold and clinical. I also think Mercedes update to the E class made it look frumpy. G80 interior color choices are fresh and welcomed in this segment.
It's a facelift. It's the same interior. And yes, there's something cold about the Mercedes even if it is a very refined vehicle. The GV80 looks soft and flowing and relaxing. The Mercedes strong and rich but I'm no fan of the disco lighting Mercedes seems to have gone to in their recent interiors.
@@dannnsss8034 The 2021 Mercedes E class looks very good in white and it doesn't look like a Toyota. You obviously don't like cars in white even though white is a very popular color that people buy. If you can't tell the difference when you see a Mercedes and a Toyota then I suggest you go to the eye doctor.

I'd be pissed if I was Lexus. Genesis is the Lexus of 1990. Lexus (Toyota) hasn't been very innovative the past few years and here we have Genesis stepping in to....replace Lexus? Looks like the road map is where Genesis becomes relevant as an alternative to BMW & MB, while Lexus may take a step down and compete with Volvo, Acura and Cadillac.
Lexus should be pissed at themselves. Nearly everything they sell is outdated and overrun by the competition. It's their own fault. There is no reason why the GS couldn't be updated years ago. Same thing with the IS. Same old car with name makeup. LS doesn't mean nearly what it did years ago as the Germans easily beat it now. Lexus only really cares about he RX, ES and NX.
Well, everyone of those are my favourites: Genesis, Lexus, Cadillac, Acura. Other level, Hyundai Kia, Toyota, Honda, Lincoln. European: Alfa Romeo and Mercedes Benz sincerely.
I am taking the G80. Because it is a World Class Luxury Sedan. The G80 is Beautiful and Unique with Reliability. The G80 is Something New, that we are not use to seeing everyday(Eclass).
Got the G80 a month ago and love it. Been driving a lexus for the past 10 years and no regrets at all with the G80. Not trying to sound biased but i think looks wise, G80 beats the 5series, e class and lexus es anyday,
The G80 and GV80 were styled at the same time so I wouldn't say the style started with the GV80. I think the sedan was actually on the market before the GV80 so it starts with the sedan. Probably technically the Mercedes is better but in terms of overall value while still offering refinement, the Genesis is. I find the Genesis far more stylish and I actually don't find Mercedes to be very stylish. The E is also now an old design. The new Mercedes design language is in the A class and just introduced S and C classes. The E has yet to get the new interior design of the S and C (as of March 2021).
Probably, but the parent company Hyundai has more than enough money to burn until brand cache catches up with others. They're most likely looking at it from a 10-20 yrs + ROI when the brand will just be commonplace without questioning.
@@ebonix33 I hope not. Every reviewer I've read has said the G80 drives and rides better than the GV80. I hope this SUV/crossover love affair ends one day. Most luxury sedans drive better than luxury SUVs.
the E class is yes king but its a old king. E class give you a bit of this starting 60k, a bit of that in features 70k, and to get it all you have to spend 80k. Genesis gives it to you all under 60k. Maintaining the e class also $$$$$$ but with genesis way less at least for now because as i suspect as it grows in popularity I expect repairs to climb. Think about it, Genesis is in the same conversation with the top luxury brands and that would be enough but the truth is its also beating them with getting more for less and the more is same level quality like the top brands
Why? I think people hold this perception but other brands can make great cars. They can be great in different ways. I guess if you go for prestige, then Mercedes is king.
