Is the engine really that loud after cold start? And during acceleration throttle seems having crackling sound from the engine?

I went up the snow in one of these and with three men in the car it was hunting for gears like crazy.

Assume you’re joking about the beautiful bit… it’s the most hideous looking thing I’ve ever seen, especially the back with those weird ugly lights and strange curved shape

@@tarquin2trappybro it grows on you. I admit the back isnt the best but but they have shortened the lights a bit so it isnt as bad. The rest of it looks good though. Front looks tough IMO.

@@Rockbottomsurf yeah it does change through gears a bit but i compare the my old challenger where i had to gear quite a bit and stuggled with a fully loaded car in the mountains. Drop to third and its screaming up the mountain change to 4th and it struggled.. with the new pajero it does hunt the right gear but i didnt really need to put my foot down and scream up a mountain like the old on did

@@denisj3447 fair enough, I’m not a fan but we can all like different things at the end of the day! I would probably grow/adjust to it to an extent if I owned one

GLS has 7 seats if you option it. Mine does.

This is GLS with 7 seats. The last one we tested was base model GLX with 5 seats. In other words, this one would be heavier. But like with all tests, the results are always going to be slightly different. Different weather, wind direction/speed, quality of fuel and fuel level etc. All of these variables would impact times.

I think Mitsubishi decided to put "Sport" to tell that this is the "smaller" or they can say "sportier" design of the 'real' Pajero

Keep in mind the sound recording is the peak decibel across 60-110km/h full throttle acceleration.

@@PDriveTV yes but if you add the effects of road surface, ATR tyres and wind noise it can play a large part in driver fatigue. Your noise ratings are very interesting.

@@Rockbottomsurf Yep, not disagreeing just highlighting that our reading for that section is peak decibel during high revving acceleration.

@@fidkjaadjk that’s why I stipulated an eight hour drive would be damaging. Even an accumulation of short noisy drives would be detrimental.

That's a common misconception about small engines and longevity. Yes it works harder than larger displacements but this is accounted for by the manufactures when designing and testing. Components of these small engines are often beefed up more than it would generally be in larger displacements. The 2.5 l 4d56 triton engine for example has been around for decades and I've seen some with 700,000+ kms on the clock and these vehicles have been used for towing and off roading. The 2.4 had been around for about 5-6 yrs now and haven't had any reliability issues when it comes to intense use. Another thing as well is that Mitsubishi engines don't mind working hard, when you drive one it it's like it just wants you to put your foot down and work it as hard as it can. This is actually the opposite of what you get from Toyota, nissan etc that doesn't really what you to work it much.

The name of sport for this car does not refer to speed performance. It means that it is the cheaper smaller version of the Pajero based off the triton.

Launches in Australia on August 1 - we'll hopefully have a video up at around that time.

That's because the MU-X is All New but let's wait for the All New Pajero Sport too that would be more fair.
