Love my 2015 GT! Owned it since 2017 when it only had 8k miles on it! It made the trip from Miami, FL to Denver, CO when I moved! Plenty of great memories already made with that car and many more to come. To me it's a good in-between of the old school tech (Annolog dash, not as much electronics, etc.) with the modern looks and performance (IRS). It was the "newest" car I've ever owned and the first car I ever put in my name. I look forward to having mine until the day comes where all vehicles are electric and these cars will be looked at like the older model carborator cars.

That’s crazy I’ve always been a manual guy! Driving the Mach 1 10spd in sport is a game changer! It’s the snap of the downshift when you go after the throttle and the way it holds the gear when in demand! Great comparison 💥

When you use the paddles it lags on shifts though. Definitely not as responsive as a ZF or DCT.

Got a 15 per pack GT 7 years ago. Did exactly upgrades that you mentioned. Power pack2, for performance handling pack and a few BMR suspension mods(swaybar, kmember, vertical links, toe links, lockout kits. Wider wheels and track tires. It is fast on the track. But i doesnt feel the same when i drive a shelby with magneride. Shelby or mach 1 just feels more refined.

I've heard you can also make those grille cutout into functional brake ducting. I want to get a Mach 1, I have a Premium 2020 HPP, with the handling package and Magne-ride as well, I love that car. My SVO II. I'm surprised that the Mach 1 has no adaptive Cruise Control standard, my HPP has it standard. Is it lowered as well? I added the GT350R Brembos & Rims and lowered it as well, for a 4 banger, it's a head turner 😁

I took almost the same route you did. I had a Focus RS then went to the Roush mod 3 phase 2 then warmed it up a bit to make 760Hp. Then the variable exhaust failed. It would have cost $1,200 to fix it. I bought a 2021 GT 500. And much like you I just love, love it. The ride is so much better it sounds better and handles much better. Ford has come a long way baby.

I agree with you on value. I love my 21 mach 1 w 6 speed. Totally worth the extra money for handling and appearance packages over the base mach 1. Personally think the power is underrated but perfect combo for what you get and the price. A better priced version of a shelby to me. I did change the cup 2s to 4s, highly recommend changing out the tires. Thanks for the video!

@@JakeTiesler The cup 2 tires are fantastic for tracking. Not so much for daily driving especially in the rain. Because of the type of compound and the amount of tread contact on the pavement. More road noise. Ford shuts down GT500 and handling package Mustang production during winter months because of zero grip. Basically the soft summer only performance tires become bricks. .

I literally have 2017 PP1 + GT 350 mani/th body and intake with a lot of steeda suspension upgrades, eibach springs and swaybars, barton short shifter and carbon fiber functional splitters/canards + corsa extreme exhaust and PS4s. One of my friends drove the mach 1 and said that it is identical or even less violent than mine. I still think the mach 1 is the better car, but I really love how raw, stiff and loud my 17 mustang is now.

Good thorough comparison of the 2015 Mustang GT to the Mach 1. I made a lot of changes to the suspension in my 2014 Mustang GT (Whiteline Lowering Springs, Koni Orange struts & shocks, Maximum motorsports caster camber plates, whiteline adjustable panhard bar and brace, whiteline rear adjustable lower control arms with brackets, and steeda rear upper control arm). Last year, I had the whiteline front and rear sway bars and pilot sport 4S tires put on. I think it handles good but I have not driven a Mustang GT with IRS.

I'd certainly regret selling my 16 GT PP, especially since I only owe about $4k on it! I love driving it every day, but would like the active exhaust and magride if I could. I have some take off active mufflers, just need to rig them up. Maybe one day!

dude i have active exhaust and heated and cool seats, with my 17 convertible premium .. but i modied out that the Mach cant touch speed wise but i did add the digital dash longitudes gt350 everything and steed stop the hop also gt350 r big brake kit. lowering springs ford racing shock and struts etc.. then they came out with Mach 1 with everything i muddied back in 2019, vmp odin Sc ..then they come out with this lol

The biggest problem with mustangs going into limp mode on the track was the fuel efficiency driven factory fill fluids that weren’t optimal. The rear diffs have 75w85 fluid. Quality lube like Amsoil severe gear 75w110 or 140 will go a long way with keeping them out of limp mode even without the coolers.

I had the 2015 GT Premium PP as well and everything you said is correct. Two years I got a 2020 GT Premium PP fully loaded. A huge upgrade. The only thing I don’t have is the magna-ride. The 15 was floaty and never felt planted on hard take off. Rear axle hop was a problem. Also the hood would vibrate at higher speeds. Ford rushed that car to respond to the camero. The 10 speed is epic. They got it right in 2018

MT82 is the only problem I have with the PP2, i have learned to live with it though. The tremec is brilliant though! Also that tech is good for insurance companies and I have gotten up to 26-27 mpg on a 500 mile trip to Louisiana from Atlanta.

Personally speaking, the GT PP2 was the perfect balance between performance, drivability, and most importantly price. A Mach 1 with the handling package is well over $61K and an extra $10K in dealer markup.

I have a 2021 mach1 same color love the car , I want to put a pro-charger a delete the rear sets & roll cage in it , in it this year 2023 ,, this automatic is fast but I been beat by ,, Camaros & other mustangs & vets ,, so I’m looking at a pro-charger to help keep up & I have ps4 tired on my mach1 love this car

I think you are incorrect about the active exhaust. I would be shocked if ford allow people to option the active exhaust without the digital dash and not be able to control it. That is the entire point of the active exhaust lol.

There are a few reasons to buy a Mustang 1. For road course track duty, get all the suspension options available preferably with six speed manual. 2. For the drag strip get a base GT with automatic. Buy DOT strip tires for the weekends 3. For everyday driver get a GT or Ecoboost with auto or manual. 4, For everyday driver and "look at me" car shows, every doo dad option you can find, they will love you at cars and coffee.

You need to go to the Ford driving class (included) with punches of you car. I just finished it . I thought my GT 500 was great then they showed me what the car can really do, OMG, I had no idea what this car can do. You need to go to the class, it’s free and if you love your car now you will love it on an even higher plan, guaranteed.

I’m from NZ and have one I agree it’s a fantastic car, also have a 2018 911 GTS, they are both different but awesome in there own right, there is a lot of talk out there about the Mach 1 from people that don’t own one, when you compare to other more prestigious brands nothing comes close in terms of bang for buck, if you can afford a Mach 1 get it, you won’t regret it!!

Not one owner both past and present has ever said anything positive about the MT-82 How did Ford mess that up so badly? The Camaro SS has the tremec and the Mach 1 and GT 350. Ford better upgrade the transmission on the S650 or I'll get the 10R80 and avoid the headaches. .

I just recently traded in my 2019 Mustang GT that had an MT-82, and I very much dislike the manual. Was expecting a better experience, but I traded it in for a base Mach 1 with 10R80, and I'm loving the automatic. So smooth and ease of driving especially in traffic

Way easier to drive, does tram line with the cup2 305 on the front, but overall just more fun, love to drive it. Sounds good, looks good and is fun to drive. Can’t beat it

Check the internet on these new Mach ones and see about the quality controls. Some people's doors aren't opening correctly they have squeaks and rattles and leaks Ford's quality is crap

I skipped on the Mach 1 over GT Premium because of the grille. Fog lights would have been so bad but the shape makes something impossible. Also not having adaptive cruise on Mach 1 was big too

So the only thing about this comparison is you didn't factor in the costs of the cars and having a paid off car vs payments. Plus customizing a regular gt vs mach 1 as it most likely hurt the value of the car

@@JakeTiesler the reason I asked was because the 2017 GT PP1 ran basically an identical lap time on the same track with the M2 that was offered at that time. Randy Pobst drove both. Even with the so so Pirellis that ford installed at the time. It may not be the best but I think you’re being a little hard on the original S550 saying it’s not a drivers car lol.

Oh no, I’m not saying it’s not FAST! It is fast around the track, as you noted. I’m saying from the drivers perspective sitting in the seat, how much “enjoyment” they get while driving the car. That’s what defines a drivers car to me. The Fiesta ST is for sure a drivers car, the GT350, Mach 1 etc but I wouldn’t put the 15-17 PP1 in the category of excellent drivers car when comparing to the Ford Performance models etc. Its all about the excitement of driving it, how much does it make you want to go back and drive it more and more? That’s how I define it so every person will have a different answer

You buy the Mach 1 because you WANT the Mach 1. Not because its substantially better than the GT. A GT can easily be modified to match or exceed the performance of a Mach 1. The only difference between the two is appearance, 20HP, and suspension. Its still cheaper to buy a GT and supercharge it than to buy a Mach 1.

Doesnt a mach 1 have quite a bit more chassis bracing? A supercharged GT has a pretty serious issue of the chassis not being able to handle the power.

It is substantially better with the handling package, that's why it costs more, just as the GT350 is. And with the 6 speed you get a superb transmission, making it a better track car. That's like saying a F150 is the same as a Raptor.
