This may be a fix for you if your Polaris loses power as if it’s firing on one cylinder sometimes. It’s a grounding issue of the coil pack. #polaris850 # Polarismisfire #polaris850misfire
Thanks for the video, i think my 850’s doing the same thing i thought it was the plugs, swapped out the coil boot and nothing. This is my next place to check🔥
I just picked up a 2021 sportsman 850. Only 260 miles on it. We went up north on a trip and I bought this so I wouldn't have problems. Turns out mine was the only ones to break down and most of the machines with me were early 2000s it is frustrating.. This quad is in new condition not a speck of dirt or anything. I took it on dirt trails. There was a few small puddles, but nothing serious. I was riding and I felt it surge like it bogged down, then went to full power bogged down again and then it just stayed bogged down over 45 miles an almost like it was on one cylinder. I did clean the contact, put it back on, but it's still doing it. Could it have ruined my plugs arching like this or even ruin the coil? The coil was a little loose and I'm wondering if the arcing could've foul the plugs Or even burned out the coil. It wasn't super loose but loose enough where I could move it around. I sure hope you can help me with this. I'm sick to my stomach all the money. I just spent on it.
It started acting up shortly after I use my four-wheel-drive in some mud, but I didn't see any mud on the coil or anything and it just started raining. I took the plugs out. I cleaned them up. I tightened that screw on the coil, but I still like it's running on one cylinder..
I have a 2018 sportman 850. It lose all it's power when warm. I'll give this a try. What cause the ground to fail when it's warm? That ground you are talkijg about. What does it grond?
@@306GokartsCustomBuilds yes but because it idles fine it should have enough fuel in the rail to at least let you press on the gas for a good 5 seconds before it bogs out of the filters were stopped up
My hat is off to you sir. This is definitely a poor design, as it’s only held on by one screw and it screws into a plastic housing. The vibration of the entire coil pack loosens the screw with normal use over time. I had just about given up.
@@MrCountryB yes my 2021 850 touring was starting and dying. It would run off starting fluid, but wouldn’t stay running on its own, so I was convinced it was a fuel/efi issue. Turns out this was the entire problem. The spark was just strong enough to start the engine but not enough to keep it running once the idle vibration kicked in. I cleaned up the ground and retightened the screw. Problem resolved. (The coil pack was just loose enough where you could feel it wiggle)
@@MrCountryB it would be much better if they used several screws to mount the coil instead of 1. If mine loosens again I’m going to try to attach the ground to the coil in a more reliable way.
