"What...!?" "I don't understand..." 😂 Thanks for having me on for this one! For those curious, I did a fairly basic analysis looking at the number of options in each category, and multiplying across, and came up with a number of about 1 quintillion. Probably low. It's a fun question to think about, but definitely needs some healthy time to derive/explain. To simplify it, we came up with the 60 yes/no options to keep the bit from sounding as dry as one of my videos. As always, y'alls production is on another level, keep crushing it!!

@@VigorousDragon819 I have an '09 Cayman S. Actually, as an update, at 12 years old there's a ton of maintenance for Cayman/Boxsters and 911s (I don't have Panamera's schedule). I just did oil change (yearly), engine air filter (4 years), cabin air filter (4 years), spark plugs (4 yrs), serpentine belt (6 yrs), and cleaned the throttle body (6 yrs). I did these things myself (thank you to a good friend and youtube videos to show us how). We saved $1000. I still need to do brake fluid (every 2 years), PDK clutch oil (6 yrs) and PDK trans oil (12 yrs), which I will pay a shop to do. Also, I had an ignition coil go out on me a few months ago.

It now has over 700 crank horsepower and eats 911’s for breakfast. Also modernized it by adding an aftermarket Apple CarPlay kit. It’s a whole lotta car now, for a fraction of the cost of that new GTS that can’t even keep up with mine!

One thing you have to keep in mind about the new interior that doesn't necessarily go for the old one: tech ages. When the interior is full of high tech screens and options it might look cool now and in the upcoming 10 years but after that, it will look dated, whereas a sleek classy interior with not too many bells and whistles will stand the test of time for much longer. It's something the designer of Bugatti talked about and I agree with him completely. A Bugatti has a pretty minimalistic cabin, but therefore it will never become this outdated car.
@chrishenry571
@chrishenry571 2 года назад
Similar problem with the maintenance aspect that they kept bringing up. The new one will have leaky seals and failing hood struts when it's old too. Will it be easier to service? Probably not! I think they are comparing mindsets: 'old and it's your problem' vs 'new and then buy another new one before it turns into a problem'
@jasono2139
@jasono2139 2 года назад
Sorry... If that was true, the Trabant would "stand the test of time". The key is to have the bells and whistles without cluttering up the cabin with 30 needless buttons that could have been managed under a virtual menu.

agreed, Bugatti is completely timeless, check out the climate control/stereo with those tiny screens inside the circled dials (similar to the ones in the Audi R8) and the very small screens in the gauge cluster. Even if that tech goes obsolete, you'd never know inside a Bugatti, which overall will remain elegant and free of big screens or button rows. I've owned my 2013 Panamera S (RWD) for a million years and that thing always keeps me second guessing. I look at Mercedes offerings (although I do own an S-Class), Audi, BMW, Bentley, the lot . . .and it's hard to replace the feeling that a N/A V8 with a crap ton of revs gives you. 970 Panamera Turbo is A LOT of car for the money. I agree with other comments the spoiler on the 4s was just a pop up did not open, motors go out and ppl put turbo spoiler on it. Only the Turbo and Turbo S and later the GTS had them. You can buy a well maintained 970 Turbo put FVD downpipe and a Tune and have a 600hp 585 ft/lbs. 0 to 60 3.3, 3.4 seconds. Add techart paddle shifters to keep multi function on wheel and be under 40k with a car that has under 50k miles, pdk, and awd. Still not enough cough up 20k more including install and FVD turbo upgrade, new ECU tune and TCU tune and have all the above plus 730hp/700 ft/lbs for under 60k. Thats a lot of car. Best of all you don't see many of them.

The maintenance on the first generation Panamera is not what people think. Have had mine for a little over 3 years and just tires, Oil, spark plugs and brakes. Price of parts not bad either. Much of the so called problems are greatly exaggerated.

My best advice to anyone that gets a v8 porsche. Just get a turbo, better reliability and more options and typically more redundancy in the engine. Maintenance not as bad as people portray. Had a cayenne S and upgraded to a Turbo and only needed a coolant expansion tank and now an a/c compressor. Put more money in tires and brakes.

@@huy801 Was looking for someone to comment on this. As someone considering a 2011 panamera, my impression from my research was that they're honestly very good. A huge step above most of the german competition of similar vintage/price on the used market. While that's not saying much (*cough* BMW), it's still good enough to not dissuade me.

I've worked at a Porsche dealership for over 16yrs now and would be very very careful about buying a $25k Panamera. Only people who buy these cars at auction are small car dealers or shops who think the easily fix what is wrong and they are so very often way over their heads trying to repair them.

@FiatDuster not usually, those bills arrive maybe twice a year if you go to the dealer only...but generally P-cars are quite reliable and independent mechanics exist. So more like $2000 a year, which for a performance car with 130k km on it, is not horrid. It’s not an economy car after all.
