Good job with your comparison, that being said comment in the beginning that clearly there was one winner over the other I think is a tad bit on the bold side. We're talking what one two miles per hour and although I appreciate the fact that you mentioned several times that speed isn't the end all be all I think it's good to remind the viewers that Yamaha has won more pwc championships then Sea-Doo or any other ski for that matter. I'll leave it at that yes I'm a die-hard Yamaha fan but I ride with works best. Unfortunate enough to work at a yamaha/seadoo dealership so I have my choice. Again job well done and thanks for the video.

Yamaha had a lot of its own Horror stories. On the two-stroke GPs they were eating there rave valves. On the four stroke supercharged skis they had a major issue with their timing chains. A lot of motors were lost. I love Yamaha but I guess once you push the limit of a small engine you get more problems

Great review! My first time buying a Seadoo instead of Yamaha or Kawasaki and I'm definitely not doing anything BRP/Seadoo again. I'm ready to buy a couple more skis and some of the electrics as well but my 2021 Seadoo shipped with malfunctioning braking and reverse and other electrical issues leaving me and a child stranded twice, nearly causing a dock collision and 8 months later it's still malfunctioning and can't be ridden. Year warranty almost up and they have my money while I have dangerous garbage and increasing expenses for something that doesn't work. BRP and the dealership (RideNow) have brushed me off and I wasted an entire years vacations with a broke Sea-Doo and tons of unreturned calls and heartache. RideNow kept it for extended periods of time billing for the same warranty repair and ended up damaging the unit on the last repair then test drove it at the lake and brought it back to me with cracked hull mounts, hull seals hanging out, screws hanging out, service compartment broke and the new trailer scraped as well. Other visits had my trailer missing parts that they ended up taking off someone else's in repair right in front of us. BRP(Seadoo) ghosted me for months repeatedly. Basically the same story I hear from others is Seadoo is very unsupportive with their issues. With only 12 months warranty that's risky as I have been shown. I have to fly in town and check on the ski while it sits in storage as RideNow has basically told me they have attorneys go ahead and use my attorneys. I've strangely run into hundreds of people in so many areas that have had bad repairs, bad deals, damaged new units and major complaints that make this business questionable and seem predatory. Don't just take my word though. I don't even try and run into people angry at RideNow. Ask the community, look at RideNow reviews(and Metro Motorsports) on Google and Rip-off Report. I truly wish I had never heard of them and that I could rewind the clock on what was supposed to be just a quiet peaceful time quarantining with some jet skis and utvs. I'll be buying more vehicles but I am certainly not risking it from RideNow or BRP. That Gp1800 is the clear winner to me.

Not sure how heavy the audio system is on the PX but for sure it will eat into the weight reduction it underwent. When the numbers are this close even the extra weight from the audio system on the PX will have measurable impact on performance. It would be like testing with one ski running half the fuel of the other. The test should be done with both skis in exactly the same feature configuration.
@GreenHulkGarage
@GreenHulkGarage 3 года назад
The sound system on the Seadoo only adds roughly 5 pounds, the added weight of the sound system will not have any measurable difference in performance.

@tracyenlow8344
@tracyenlow8344 3 года назад
The results are totally expected. The RXP has a nice power to weight ratio advantage and the Yamaha has a cavitation problem. With the limiters removed, the Yamaha will most likely be faster since it has much less hull in the water. Greg, love the video, but not sure about your comment regarding the GP not beating you up as much as the RXP. I have always found the T3 hull to be much less harsh in the rough than the GP. morgan delgado a few tenths can be Production difference. It can be fuel quality. It can be just that particular run. Heat soak, intake temps. Turn of a lucky card. A half second or more will get me excited. Less than that could be any reason why there's a difference. A 50 hp difference would be more than half a second.
@tiggietiggie6095
@tiggietiggie6095 3 года назад
@@alexnutcasio936 There would have to be huge HP difference to accomplish half a second lead. Half a second at WOT in stock form is 50 feet, "just a tenth" is a boat length. The numbers may seem small but in a real world race they're solid beats.

Tiggie Tiggie depends on the speed. 1/2 a second at 100 mph is a whole lot more length than getting to 60 mph. In other words, the SeaDoo is not taking the Yammie to Gapplebees.

Neither of these were designed with comfort in mind. These two were designed as high performance machines. If you’re looking for a comfortable watercraft then you should look into a Yamaha FX or a SeaDoo GTX/RXTX

Its funny to see the biased people's comments. Ride what best suits you. Btw the RXTX is a faster hull over the rxpx. I do like the 21 gp1800s may pick one up as I already have 2 rxtx. 1 of each would be a good combo!

Watercraft Journal recorded faster times on their 2021 yamaha GP1800R vs the 2020 Gp1800R test. the yamaha 2021 GP1800R they recorded 5-50 in 2.56 sec and from 5-60 in 3.51 sec beating the 2021 Seadoo RXP X300 numbers you tested in this video. Lets see what kevin at watercraft journal gets when tested their 2021 GP1800R against the 2021 Seadoo RXP X300.

Actually, we teamed up with the watercraft journal for the 2020 vs 2021 GP1800R SVHO. It was me riding that got the numbers for both the GP’s used in the watercraft journal’s video. Different days with different conditions is what caused the variations in the time.
@ParrotHead1980
@ParrotHead1980 3 года назад
@@GreenHulkGarage Well that maybe true but the GP1800R you tested and had ridden that day posted faster numbers so actually you can't say the seadoo is faster because if those numbers change periodically then the Yamaha would be faster in smoother conditions. Plus it's way more reliable than anything seadoo makes. 🤣😃
@GreenHulkGarage
@GreenHulkGarage 3 года назад
@@ParrotHead1980 it’s the same exact GP we tested in that day. The Sea Doo wasn’t even shipping to dealers when we did that shootout. Performance of a ski can vary day to day depending on weather conditions, temps, etc. the important thing is we tested the Sea Doo and Yamaha for this test on the same exact day, which levels the playing field. It would not be fair to dredge up old results of the GP in great conditions and then test the RXP on a different day and call it a fair comparison. More on how temps can affect performance day to day can be read about here greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=249243

GreenHulk Garage in fairness to both skis, performance differences can occur between individual skis too. You could have just gotten a slower factory production ski. 2/10ths is not a lot of time, particularly if you're in the saddle with no timing equipment. Even with Vbox, there's variations in units and testing.
