Some days ago Skoda has reintroduced its most value for money variant of its mid size sedan Rapid ie. The Rider variant.The starting price of the base-spec Rider trim has gone up by Rs 30,000, but it is still the most affordable in its segment.
But today we it's rider plus variant.Few other variants have gotten pricier by Rs 20,000, including the Rider Plus.

The Rapid is offered with a 1.0-litre TSI engine only.You get to choose between 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. This engine has 14% rise in torque, 9% increase in fuel efficiency, and 5% upsurge in power over the outgoing Rapid's MPI engine.This is the same engine which we get in Volkswagen Polo and Vento.
There is no change to the equipment list.Skoda has increased the prices of the Style and Monte Carlo variants by Rs 20,000. However, the mid-spec variants cost the same as before.
At the price point, the Rapid Rider plus remains the most affordable midsize sedan in the market by a fair margin, with the nearest rival, the Maruti Ciaz Sigma priced at Rs 8.42 lakh. Meanwhile, its sister car, the Volkswagen Vento, is priced at Rs 9.09 lakh* for the Trendline variant.The Hyundai Verna start at Rs 9.03 lakh, the Honda City (Gen 4) from Rs 9.30 lakh and the Toyota Yaris from Rs 9.16 lakh**.
