We need more of this! Bike reviews are great, but I know your viewer count would grow if you just posted more riding vids like this one. Happy riding dude!
Awesome vid. I had an S-Works Epic and I loved it. Sadly I had to sell it but still had the need for speed. So I got me a Large 2022 Rockhopper Expert and upgraded it to a trail bike. I also noticed that having an expensive bike it really gets hard to maintain. You want to ride carefully and every crash or cosmetic can set you back financially. Worst case scenario is that your bike turns into a paperweight and have to part it out. This is where an entry level bike makes more sense.
Mine just arrived the other day. First 29er I've owned. Feels faster but then I've not ridden a proper bike since 26 inch days! So far so good. Great handling, gears and breaks perform well. Sadly some slippage on the lower gears but taking it to the shop this week sonhopefully get that ironed out. Over all very pleased. Great vid. Nice it see how it performs on single track although I'll mainly be commuting and using roads for now but hope to get out to 7 stains Dumfries and Galloway this summer. Zhi-bde
Awesome video and bike. I just purchased one. I have to go pick it up in Everett Washington. I even tried the lower model specialized base XXL and that even rode great. But I wanted one with better components so I bought the Elite
@@SummitAndShred yeah I was Checking out the trek shop here in Seattle I was going to purchase a marlin 7 XXL but they didn't have my color I wanted. So I started searching for my first choice and found the specialized I wanted
Awesome video. I was very surprised to find one here in Finland. So i ordered it right that second. Black looks so great, can’t wait. Btw does the bike come with stock pedals?
@@villesaarinen8337 yes specialized Elite 29 rockhopper comes with stock pedals. I'm actually thinking about changing mine for a more low profile pedal with better grip. Probably light weight aluminum
Great video. I have a Rockhopper Comp 2021. It serves me well on urban use + mid level trail riding. The problem is the suspension. It’s coil and heavy. I’m wondering if I should simply upgrade the fork to something like a RockShox Recon or if it would make more sense to sell the bike and buy another, like a Chisel or Trek X Caliber 9. What would you do?
Hi Miquel, I have the same Rockhopper Elite bike that Summit and Shred reviews in the video and the Judy airfork on the Elite is certainly nice. The coil shock that I think comes on the Rockhopper Comp probably weighs more. I don't specifically know the RockShox Reacon but an upgrade to an airfork seems like a good upgrade! As far as selling the bike or buying another bike: A Rockhopper can be a good bicycle to upgrade so taking your frame and upgrading part by part as you wish would be a great way to improve the bike. If you have the $ to spend and you would like to take it to the next level with your riding getting a Chisel or a Trek X Caliber would be amazing as those bicycles are lighter are "race ready" and just so much more bike! Anyhow, happy riding either way!!!!
Hey! what is your height? I'm 186cm and I'm in between L and XL too but don't know which one to get. I like the smaller frame and being able to lower the seat post more but I'm worried about not being comfortable enough for my height as with the "correct" size (XL).
Hey D....I've had the same Rockhopper Elite coverd in the video for a little over a year now and I thought the video was really representative of the bike. After a year of riding I still think it's great! A side note, for how good I think the Elite is, it does have some functional limitations. If you race/want to race or if you want to ride more advanced trails then I would recommend spending more and getting more bike. The Elite is a great "entry level" ride that does the entry level stuff really well. Anyhow, ride on D!
I keep mine pressure around 25, don't want it so low since I'm still running tubes with it. Actually had them at 21 last weekend and got a flat withing 15 min!
Im completely new to mountain bikes but I’ve been wanting to buy one , a friend of mine highly recommended a Santa Cruz chameleon but I’ve been looking at these rockhopper elites, should I pull the trigger on the Santa Cruz or get one of these bad boys 🫡
