Everyone should understand that the 2021 Supra has drastically more Horsepower and even Torque than the 2020 model. The torque in the 2021 model doesn’t fall off after 5,000 rpms like the 2020 model does. The 2021 Supra has over 40 more pound feet high in the rev range over the 2020 model. Also the lower compression ratio makes the 2021 model MUCH EASIER to modify for high boost. You have to change out the pistons or the heads of a 2020 model in order to equal the 2021 model. Toyota has really screwed over the 2020 customers especially the ones that paid over sticker. No one will want a 2020 Supra once they realize how much more tunable the 2021 model is.

Targa Top + Manual Transmission would be an amazing update for the Supra.

Next Toyota will bring a new Celica turbo using the Honda Civic Si chassis.

Whats the point of the 2.0? Why not out the 4 cylinder turbo engine into the GT86 like how everyone wants? Why would I pay 40k for a turbo 4 cylinder supra when i could get an 86 for 20 and have it turbocharged and professionally tuned for under 10k more?

I'll be honest that car is cool, but I'd rather try out the Yaris GR.

In the past, Supras were build on chassis from Toyota's business (Chaiser, Mark, Cressida, Aristo) sedans and had engines from them in order to showcase brand's power and pride. The only thing new Supra showcases - Toyotas greasiness and shame. V35A-FTS could easily be factory tunned to have around 500hp without sacrificing reliability, only fuel economy and remissions. This engine already have proven itself be reliable, despite it's complex modern design. It can make 600hp with simple ECU tune, which already exists. And Toyota's open deck, with cast iron sleeves designes are really strong, there are even 1000hp builds based on Toyota's i4 2AR-FE blocks. And cooling along with crankshaft strength is better in V engines. It would be one hell of a Supra on TNGA-N platform from new Crown, it would have front mid engine layout, just like the Crown does. They also could tune Aisin 10 speed for more sporty behaviour.. And no one would care about it having v6 instead of i6 as no one cares that original R32 GTR had RB i6 were is modern once have v6es. I am really glead that this Supra has very bad sales and i hope that new Nissan Z will put final nail in the coffin of this abomination. If you like BMW then buy BMW. There is Japanese car pride and history. Technology and engineering wise Japanese have been among leaders since 1980s Back than their metallurgy technology was far superior than that in other countries and only they could build long stroke engines that were high revving, due to mass production of light and strong crankshafts. They were smooth, economical and powerful even before ECUs. That's how they concarade the world. Then they showed how injection, variable valve timing, active awd systems and turbocharging is done properly and reliably. They were also first to implement these technologies in mass production of affordable vehicles. And they always use high quality materials and components for their engines and transitions along with proper, reliability conscious injenering. And no Toyota has ashamed itself and betrayed Toyota fans and japanise car fans in general. Shame.

All we want is a manual down-to-earth sports car. I dont care that its fast and it shifts quickly or whatever. Going fast is fun, but actually putting the work in yourself is even more fun.

A lot of people are calling this a BMW, but you guys have to understand that even if it has BMW style parts, the engineers of Toyota specifically had it remastered and tuned to fit the Supra. So it’s still technically is a Toyota.

Yes, it is a BMW Z4. But at the same time, it is cheaper and more fun to drive than the Z4. So no complaints!
