Would have bought one if dealers weren't price gouging beyond any reasonable cost. Bought a C8 Corvette instead. No regrets.

I worked for a Toyota dealership were the owner was trying to get $80,000 for our first edition GR Supra. We got the car in August and it sat in the dealership until late January. Wish I would have know what happened to it because I was fired back in September. I told our GM that the 2020 Supra was not as hyped as they thought it was for 3 main reasons. #1 BMW made the engine and many other components in the car and many people hate BMW, #2 the only reason the Supra got popular was because of Paul Walker and the original The Fast and the Furious movie, and #3 Toyota made a sports car without a manual transmission. I did tell him though that the 2JZ-GTE engine was legendary among car tuners, but again BMW and that the car tuning scene died out about 10 years ago. He looked at me as if I was from another planet.

They need to stop doing that tho they find every way to make you not want the car anymore just by over pricing mf you as a dealer supposed to want to sell the car not discourage ppl into not buying

People are still hating! That’s all good because until they drive one or own one, then all they’re talking is non sense. Toyota pour their experience and technical expertise when they paired with BMW. It’s obvious Toyota took their own path using BMW parts, but people forget that Toyota would only put their name if they approve and meet the quality and rigorous Toyota standards. I’m a car guy through and through and this car blew my expectations enough to buy one. Drive one and you will change your mind instantly!

When the first time it is released,I was hate this car because it used the BMW engine,But now I really like it,because I think,if toyota doesn't cooperate with BMW,the new supra won't born and I also still tolerate it because it holds the supra characteristic,I mean Inline 6 engine,twin turbo,3 liter,and also still has a tuning ability,and also 300+ HP.

Please dont compare this Z4 to the 4th gen Supra. Who are you kidding?? Now if this unit had a more refined 4th gen 6 cyl engine and a bit longer rear end with similar spoiler as 4th gen Supra.........then possibly you may be onto something.

Toyota Performance= Reliable, Powerful and easy to drive. The early B58's are less reliable than the 335hp versions that started production in 2018. The 335hp B58 for the Supra is more trusty than the one in the Z4 because Toyota made small modifications in order to meet their reliability standards.

Supras are known for tuning and mostly i6s and Toyota didn't have a i6 nor any tunable engines so they went to bmw since they knew how to make tunable i6s and a decent chassis for a sportscar
