Glad to see your video. I am set to take my MYLR 7 seater with the upgraded wheels in about a week so I am glad to see your video since there aren't a lot of videos for the 7 seat version.

You guys are great and pleasant to watch. I originally bought the model y long range at the end of last year when Elon discounted the price to 48900 and u loved my car. Bought it, like you because my kids play club lacrosse and my oldest daughter plays high school lacrosse as well. Have driven my y to Arizona, Oregon, Washington and throughout California. With the gas prices as high as they are in California, it's a no brainer to drive a tesla. In August of this year I checked to see how much my y long range is worth in the open market and to. Y amazement I was offered 59600. I immediately sold it in mid August for almost 11000 over what I paid for it and ordered a new model y. Because of the wait for the long range was until January 2022 and the much shorter wait time for the performance, I decided for the performance. The performance package doesn't come with a 7 seat option. Because now it's only 7000 dollars difference between the long range and the performance, it made my decision easier. The 1.3 second faster is quite noticeable, especially to my kids. I stayed with the white on white combo because originally the white was a 1500 dollars option, as it is the only other multi coat paint besides the red that no one talks about. Also with the heat in Southern California it is much cooler to operate. I am really happy for you guys success. Keep up the good work

One thing I haven't heard you comment on in your videos (granted I haven't watched all of them) but what about insurance? I hear it's much more. I know one solution is Tesla insurance but only 12 states have it right?

Interesting point about the suspension. Having driven in both USA and Europe a lot. I would say that the Model Y has typical European suspension which is not as soft and a bit more sporty. Which is my preference anyway. Tyres make a huge difference too and the regular wheels are a softer ride especially on the potholes.

Great video. One thing that does bug me that doesn’t come standard that wasn’t mentioned was the fact it doesn’t come with a garage door opener standard at this price point. Every other car comes with this. I am going to buy one once the 4860 battery comes out.

I'm here in Virginia. You guys are tocthe north of me. We have another in common. My kids are older and no longer live at home though. I to am in education. I'm in the IT department at a local school system. Now that it's just me and my wife we also so some road trips. We just spent a week in Myrtle Beach with friends. For us it's a 6 hour 30 minute drive. I have a 2013 Kia Optima and will be buying a Model Y next year and being able to use the autopilot would have been so great to have. We all have cruise control in our cars but itsbjust not the same. Watching your video just confirms in my mind I should be buying a Tesla. On my way down there and driving on 95 I saw a couple Model 3s, one or two Model Ys, a Model X and a Model S. So yes, you can definitely get these cars out there on long stretches of highway and go on sone road trips.

I pick my MYLR up on Monday. I’m glad I found your channel. Great info with great delivery. I live in Northern VA. I think it’s about 3.5 hours to where you got your PPF done. I may look into it.

Enjoyed the video. I have a 2021 Model YLR red with white interior. Live in southwest Florida with a lot of sun which causes glare from the white in front of the dash on the driver side outside mirror depending on the location of the sun. Something to consider if you want a white interior.

Just FYI Tesla has removed the 1000 free supercharging miles a few days ago. September 17th order date was the latest you would be eligible for the referral program. Sucks :/

Thanks DeeJay. If your code was entered prior to 9/17 they will still honor the program reward regardless of delivery date. You just cannot apply a referral code on an order placed on 9/17 or later.

@ Lockett Tech, I enjoyed the video and you got a new Sub here. Got a two part question. I currently have an order in for M3 LR, although I am thinking of upgrading to the same configuration you have, I would lose some range in miles but would be seated higher which might be better since I have minor back issues. You seem to be a husky guy, so am at 5'9 about 195 lbs. How is the room for you in the front since I would hardly ever be seated in the rear. I did test drive the M3 and it did seem a bit low so this is my major concern. It's not a money issue, more of a comfort and slight performance issue. Your thoughts please

First, thanks for the sub! The biggest concern I would have is getting in and out the M3 given how low it sits. I'm used to driving sports cars so for me it's not a big deal but it's definitely more comfortable getting in one that sits higher like the MY or my truck. The room in the driver seat felt the same to me for the M3 and MY. It just sits higher and is easier to get in/out of.

Great question. I would need to play with one hands on, but yes. That would be possible. I am not a fan of the R1T designs...its feels like an electric version of the Honda Ridgeline...mini-truck with bubble-like design...but the R1S looks nice. From the videos I've seen of the R1T the tech seems pretty solid. Once they come out I will have to get my hands on one.

@@LockettTech I see. The only issue that I see with both R1S and R1T are the weight of it's vehicle. Both are considered heavy duty truck and SUV, with a eight close to 8000lbs that is a heavy truck and SUV to drive around highways thus it's efficiency it pretty bad. If both cars have the Tesla 4680 cells then it will be completely story. The reason I asked is because the higher specs model Y is pretty close to a price of a R1T.

If you fully specs the model Y or even go with the performance model Y the R1S is pretty comparable with its Explore trim 70k-75k.

How old are the kids and what's their height? Just trying to how comfortable it is for kids in 3rd row

Tyler is 12 and about 5' 3". He has sat back there fine before but usually sits in the 2nd row. Brandon is 10 and about 4' 8" and he is the one that primarily sits there and has no issues. He actually doesn't like to sit in the 2nd row now.

Very interesting. You went with the Mach E over the MY for a family vehicle...may I ask why and how many in your family? I personally have yet to drive the Mach E (on our content list of upcoming videos) but from videos I've seen it seems pretty far behind the MY in tech and battery efficiency. Curious as to why you went that route for a family vehicle?
