Love the episode to end the year. One thing I learned throughout this pandemic is how hard it is to do shit alone in our age range. I’ve been watching a lot of BR’s old stuff throughout the week waiting for the new pod episode and his videos definitely changed lol. Not that they were bad before per say but from gameplay playing while he was talking about something elaborate to the weird portal sound transition thing (I have no idea what to call it but I’m glad he moved on from it lol) the visual quality of his vids has improved for sure. I love the video essay style of AniTube and I think his was the first I saw when I looked up how Hollow Purple worked after the JJK episode came out lol. I love visual art as a medium but have this arrogant-ish trait of trying to understand/improve everything so I’ll randomly get into pockets of watching arc of character video essays of stuff I may not have even seen yet. All that to say I was first introduced to the pod by a random BR community post of the anime philosophy video w Doofey which was ep 4 iirc and it was something I really enjoyed. Glad you guys ended the year on a little break and looking forward to what’s in store next year!
Wait its so funny I made this comment after BR reviewed his 2021 and now in his 2022 goals he talked about this exactly lol. I’m 22 rn and haven’t played video games regularly since the ps4 came out bc I was about to go to hs and wanted to start taking life more seriously (which I didn’t lol) but I’ve been watching RU-vid as my main source of media since. 80% of what I watched was sports highlights or video game walkthroughs. Glad someone else understands that ppl can enjoy games without actually playing them. Plus it’s fills my need of trying to understand everything like why a game won game of the year. I also rather have someone give it to me in a condensed form than to waste my time getting stuck at a part bc I already did that in the ps2 days w no RU-vid as a kid lol. I enjoy hearing you guys talk about jjk and my hero every episode even tho I’ve never read a page of manga in my life and technically am getting spoiled lol. You guys are rational fans of art and it’s refreshing to hear praise and fair criticism.
