lol sport mode is a lot of fun! But it's nice for daily driving to have the softer suspension, lighter steering and quiet exhaust. Good blend of a car!
@matthew chang what do u mean how is he 73? The last vietnam war happend November 1, 1955 - April 30, 1975, means his uncle was born in 1948 so when the war ended he had to Been 27 years old so maybe he was in the war in that time.
I've been binge watching ALL your Supra videos cuz I'm soo close to saying "YOLO" and buying one😂 Since I was a child, the 97 Supra was my dream car but the MK5 really grew on me
@@HummusThunder a year later.. don’t buy used! i’m looking at cars and new ones are like 57k while used ones are 60k+ why buy used when new is the same / less price lol
After I go full bolt ons and pro tune my wrx, I will either do an FA24 motor swap which can be modded to 500WHP, or I will be buying a MK5 supra which also can go to 500WHP.
David White I did but only for a brief period. It’s a beautiful car, easily the best looking corvette to date. But they wanted $105,000 for the one I drove. A lot of cash id prefer my Supra for half the price.
I've been going back and forth between wanting a C8 Corvette & a Supra....after your previous Supra vids and now this one, I'm pretty sold on going the Supra route. That color is sick. The fact that you can get some pretty badass performance out of it and still be able to use it as a daily driver is freaking awesome.
Brittini Tenesha I’m like you, except the C8 is not in my price range. I would be looking at a C7. The Supra would be the better daily driver, in my opinion as well. But a Corvette, is a Corvette!
@@davidhorne2326 I don't blame you! The C8's are a bit up there. I like the C8 for it's "super car" like appearance. It's got a ton of great features. I really like the cameras on each side of the car & how you can easily record if you'd like.
@@davidhorne2326 Yeah the C8 is leagues ahead of the C7, if I recall correctly it's got an all new engine? I know it gets to 60 in about 3 seconds flat, compared to the C7 and older gens 4. 3 seconds is supercar speeds lol, absolutely absurd
The reason I'm lately watching so many supra vids is because I'm super unsure about which one to buy 4 cil or 6 cils. I plan to take it to the FIRM track in Florida and that's why I want it lighter. But then this suspension and the sport mode got me thinking because I will be driving it to work too
I havent driven the 4cyl Supra, but I've driven the 4cyl Z4. It's still a quick motor and definitely has power. But the 6 cyl is actually a very fast car! My car with just bolt ons and a tune makes 450 WHP and 560 WTQ. It's crazy fast and gives my 600 WHP GTR a run for the money under 100 mph. Keep in mind most 2021 Supra models have locked ECU's and can't be tuned. So I'd find a nice 2020 Supra. Best option!
That red is absolutely amazing! So much so that it makes me wonder if you have any regrets not choosing that color even though we all know you love white exteriors. A 4 cylinder option for a Supra? That would almost be senseless but hey if it saves money, then more power to anybody that makes that choice.
Im not even upset about the 2021 power increases. Im more interested in the suspension and steering changes. If the changes are neglible the smart decision is to pickup leftover 2020's. These mod so easy and net power will increase quickly depending on your goals. Honestly i prefer the integrated two port header of the 2020. Less likely to crack later on. In my lSF & MR2 TURBO, they cracked.
I think it depends on if you want a manual or auto. C7 has a crappy automatic. Not fun at all. Supra has a fantastic auto! And the manual is great in the Corvette!
Bros FOURR Speed More than likely going with the auto. Definitely sold on Toyota as well. I live about 1 1/2 hours away from Flow, so I’ll give them a look. Thanks!
that is one small difference that makes HUGE difference! all other colors look stunning on any car interior except for the black color which invades US market, they love Black interiors in the US, that color kills the looks, I guess with a variety of interior colors Supra would shine in a better sportier way!
Yes that is not accurate at all! I own a Supra and I can get high 20's depending on how I drive. A new car that idles in the parking lot or quick test drives won't have an accurate reading.
That will be pretty cool! They should have done this from the beginning. But I bet the new coming with a manual pushed them to do it. I enjoyed my supra for the two years, but am excited to buy the new Z. Supra will be a good comp!
Beautiful car. I love that red. If I ever had to get rid of my Alfa Romeo 4C, I would consider this OR the Vette C8... I would probably go for the Vette as long as I could get one at MSRP or less.
I feel like if it wasn’t for bmw’s involvement, Toyota would’ve just stuck with the same 2009 keyfob they’ve been using for like more than the past decade 😭
Yeah and this would have a very out dated infotainment and probably just a N/A V6 from a Camry. The BMW intervention makes these so much fun and nice to drive! I love mine!
I was so close to getting a 2021 Supra. The wife looked at me and said “stop it and get your dream car”. I now own a 2013 cyber gray, manual corvette. Zero regrets.
You can control the gears using the paddles on the steering wheel. Sport mode helps give the throttle some more input so it's a little more responsive. If you are on backroads or the track, you have more control of the gears and it's more fun!
lol the Supra has been proven to be super reliable tho! And with BimmerCode you can change the chime at least. I changed mine to a different BMW one that sounded a bit nicer
@@dellville720g6 Oh cool! One of my friends bought one as his dad car. It’s tuned like my Supra was and they feel very similar in power. But more space
Nice review I guess that was easy for you🙂 curious about the differences between the 20 and the 21 more about the mods I can see that a lot of the mods that I would do will work on the 21 but there’s a couple that I don’t know for sure like the downpipe for instance hopefully you will cover that. About the trunk release can you physically tell by looking at it if the hatch is popped? My 91MR2 did not have a trunk button nor did it have a key fob, so for instance when I was going shopping I would pop the trunk from inside before going in and when I returned I would simply open the trunk put items in. Obviously with no valuables in the trunk this worked well and I never had a problem but a trunk is different than a hatch but this could work for you especially if it was a quick trip into a store thought I mentioned this but to each his own looking forward to the next video have a good one👍
Love the 2021 3.0 premium... The yellow version is my current favourite. GM has lost my future purchases... I hope Toyota steps up and fixes the wind buffeting issue at highway speeds with the windows down... I hope they fit the M2 manual transmission for 2022 3.0 AND fix the wind buffeting issue.... A good replacement for the nineties version...
Yeah, should have been fixed from day one, but it is an easy fix with a stick on deflector to the mirror. I chose carbon fiber from Verus Engineering, which actually looks really nice.
Yellow is super cool for the Supra! I have little plastic fins attached to my side mirrors to solve that. No clue how Toyota missed that in the development of the car!
jjus jjoe 2021 seems to have the same wtq but is closer to 380 whp vs 350. But the power comes on way later. I have a vid coming talking about how they feel vs 2020. We’ll have to see the tuning potentially of the 2021 to truly have an idea
Bros FOURR Speed 410-420whp ecutek tuned with DP on pump gas.. So same as a tuned '20 model.. Less overall gains due to higher boost compensating lower compression
@@mohamedbohemdi3900 Which to me hints the lower compression = bigger turbos down the road. But for today, I'll take the higher compression version. Power hits hard and fast. Mine is already making over 650hp with crazy cheap mods.
The car is all around awesome, but it really just needs a more unique interior design, because if you think about it, it's so much BMW shaped inside. Hell, even the key is a 5 Series key, just not as shiny. BMW really needs to give Toyota some partition in design.
I agree. I owned mine for 2 years. Outside is sharp. But inside is nothing special. That's why I'm excited for the new Z. Wish they gave this some cool colors
Have any suggestions for a good car on slightly bad roads. I live in the sticks of PA. I'm into sporty cars like this. This is actually my dream car but I don't think it would do well on the roads here. Maybe something similar but with better suspension? Idk
Honestly this is a pretty comfortable car. I really liked mine for daily driving. This would be a good choice, the BMW M240i would also be a great option!
Hello so I just bought this car and I am wondering how long should I warm up my car (specify the temperatures please)? Thank you and hope to hear from you soon
You mainly want the oil temp to be optimal before really getting on the car. At least 10 minutes of driving should get it good enough. There is a hidden menu in the gauge cluster if you hold the OBO button down for 15 seconds. You can go to temperature and unlock a screen where you can see the temps. Add up the last 6 of your vin. And that is the code to unlock the temp menu
The Toyota Supra is definitely a great daily driver! Just depends on if you can afford the car while in school, so just have to be smart with your purchase.
Yes! Noticeable quieter. It really lost al the pops. 2022 sounds a bit better then 2021 tho. But you can always tune the car and put an aftermarket system on to make it louder. 2020 is still the loudest
12/13/2020 So, is the dual exhaust fake? I mean, since the engine is an in-line 6, it has one exhaust manifold instead of two as with a V block, i.e,, V-6, and the only way to have dual exhaust is to split out the single exhaust into pipes.
The key feature works on the 2020 also! 2020 Supra base model has a small screen. But the premium had this same screen. For 2021 all 3.0 models have the big screen. Just the base has no hard drive nav
Depends on what you want. I bought a Supra and had a great time with it the last 2 years. But if you want a slower car but with a manual and the V8 sound. The GT Mustang is a great option. If you need back seats the Mustang is better. But the Supra is more refined on the interior and can be modified to 700hp for cheap
Thinking about tuning my 2021 after seeing your 2020 vids . Trying not to void my warranty is it still possible to get it tuned and do basic bolt ons Intake and charge tube without tipping off the dealer ? Already have the hks hipermax adjustable springs and a Intake coming in soon
Bros FOURR Speed gotcha thanks for the head ups , I just wasn’t sure if they could plug in and see that there was a tune even . Basically wasn’t sure how they would prove the car is tuned if I ran mainly stock pieces and didn’t upgrade the turbo or anything crazy
My problem is I can only drive cars like this like 3 months a year and I don’t think i would want to spend that kind of money on a car I can barley drive
Dang that sucks. DO you live where there is a lot of snow or something? maybe look into a good AWD sportscar and have a set of winter tires too. GTR, EVO and S4 would be my top picks!
@@kevincc13 I owned a Supra for two years and don’t have anything bad to say, but I also work on my own cars so I don’t have dealership service experience. Every dealership is going to operate differently as well and some people won’t have issues and some will do it’s hard to answer that. This dealership is great to work with though from what I’ve heard.
BMW and Toyota partnered together to produces this car. The engine is from BMW and Toyota took that and tuned it and made it to their specs and put it in the Supra!
I would do (almost) anything to be able to get one of these cars! Joke.. but hey, give me an offer ;) Such a beauty! But i think i would have chosen the '20 Supra just to save some money :)
Nah ! Buy a 2020 there are some great deals now. Then spend the money you save to tune the car. You will not care if the 2021 or the 2022 have this or that. You will have a better car until a MK6 shows up!
Yeah pretty much all 2021+ Supras have locked ECUs. However you can still tune them. Just need to ship the ECU to Europe first. However there are good tuners out there that don't need to be unlocked. brosfourrspeed.com/parts-%26-merchandise/ols/products/dahler-engine-performance-tuning---b58
With tuning both can make the same power. However the 2020 cars most of the time are unlocked. So you have a better chance for tuning. My 2020 had a lot of torque and the 6 port is a bit smoother. So I do like the new one better since it doesnt spin the tires at 1800 rpm like the old one. But either way ever B58 Supra is a blast!
Of course. If it snows a lot I'd recommend snow tires. But even the summer tires they come with are fine in the winter. Just below 40 degrees, don't try to race anyone. It'll spin!
Oh yeah! It has a lot of headroom ad I could put the seat back a little bit more. The passenger side feels a bit tight for me tho. So thats not quite as roomy
i am really disappointed due to your review... for the longest time ever i wanted to get the 2020 then the 2021 appeared out of no where and it seems like they reduced all the fun things on the 2021... now I'm really confused on what to get 2021 or 2020... ! both have some major pros and cons ! price is one major factor in my country there is a 15K USD price diffrance between both brand new cars!
Honestly I'd stick with the 2020. Stock it has more torque down low and it comes on quicker. So it actually feels like a faster car around town. Also, the exhaust sounds awesome! The 2021 Supra sounds very quiet. And with tuning, most 2021 owners can't even get the ECU unlocked for tuning. So there is no way to make it faster. The 2020 will cost you like $5k less and with $2,500 in mods it'll have 450 WHP and 560 WTQ. 2021 Supra couldn't keep up with that if it tries
I'd go with the Supra. Once you tune it, it is in such a different world then the Z. Definilty more fun and better characteristics!! Unless you just have to have a manual lol
There is one thing the 370z has that the supra doesn’t. That is old school grit. The 370z is a brute, last of the Japanese muscle car. The 370z is raw.
Miles Lynch if you don’t mind spending money on broken parts very often. Then mk4. If you want to drop money. Get some mods. And not worry too much. Mk5
@@NBABY-J Uhh the Honda civic type R has 300 hp stock. The 4 banger Supra has 255. So stock its faster especially with its 6 speed. Second, there's way more support for the civic than any other car on earth. Add a turbo to the civic and a tune- (about 3k all together) and its its bye bye Supra were talking high or mid 11's WRONG? No you are
@@NBABY-J you will admit the Civic is bad ass with a aftermarket turbo and a tune- it will do 12's that's a fact. RU-vid: "RC autoworks" you'll see daily driver 500hp Civics all day. Peace.
