Not sure about the "floaty" feeling over 100mph with the GR premium launch (that I have) but I concur on all MODS. All great ideas for a daily driver. Love the exhaust. Sounds sick!

Being used to my GTR, this was pretty floaty at 100. Do the lowering springs and you'll see a drastic stability increase. Great car to mod!

The stock exhaust is crazy how it has the pop and crackles! But I wanted to hear them a bit more and with the value system I have now, what a difference! It's goes from tame and stock, to pop pop pop pop! I love it!

Yeah I think a leftover 2020 is the way to go! Save $7k over a 2021 Supra and you only need to spend half those savings to make it like this!

So have 3/5 mods and I’ll be getting the fourth before the end of the year. I have that exact intake (recommendations from this site), I have a bigger down pipe from my turbo, and I have a tune. One thing I do have different is I also have a bigger turbo. Mine is a rated 750 hp (however it’s rated with a methane injection). My last mod for awhile will be the cat less exhaust pipes. Now I’m running over 500 hp to the wheels. I am not planning to get methane injections because though I don’t drive my Supra everyday it’s still a daily driver for me. I’m would rather out that money that goes into that added level of complexity into my MK IV Supra

30 whp for mst wow! I hope my injen does that...I went injen cuz of the aesthetics since I got a combo deal for a red CAI and Charge Pipe. My mod list so far is Injen CAI & Charge Pipe, BMS billet strut brace, bms spacers, ikon performance exhaust (on order- old school mkIV look). Thinking about doing your downpipe and tune too

The tune will I lock that 30 HP. As long as the pipe is bigger then stock, it should open it up 👌🏼

It should be even better performance wise because it has a full intake pipe with a proper intake box. It actually lowers IATs, but it doesn't sound as good.

They might. As long as you have a Windows PC they can do remote tuning. But any local ECUtek shop can do it

Thank you for the recommendations. Regarding the H&R sport lowering springs, I’ve read that adding them to stock shocks will really shorten the lifespan of the shocks. Thoughts on that?

I never had an issue. 2 years and they still ride perfect. In my opinion, since they are magnetic suspension stock. I feel like it's going to adapt to the lower ride height and be fine. Most people have issues with lowering springs on old cars that have struts that are about to blow anyways

I had lowering springs fitted to my 2021 A90 and one of my shocks went within a few weeks. Roads in the UK may well be a lot worse that other places. I'm changing to KW Coilovers and would recommend coilovers above lowering springs with stock shocks.

I'm considering an aftermarket wing for aesthetics, but I heard it can have adverse effects on performance (drag, handling, etc). Was that a factor at all for you deciding whether or not to add extra aero to your list of mods?

If you do a big wing I'm sure those ones aren't exactly tested for true track driving. But I doubt you'd really see a difference around town. Maybe on the track a big wing might give you more downforce. But only if it's been designed to go onto the car at the perfect angle. I'm planning to add a carbon fiber lip for a good look. And I'm sure that'll help just a tad for downforce in high speeds.

Ever thought about changing the aftercooler for a cooler air intake to supercharger?

Supra doesn't have any issues keeping the intake air temps down with the intake manifold it has. The air to water system in the stock form is perfect. Even with a bigger turbo these don't have heating issues on any of the components.

...only if you are caught and if your exhaust sounds too loud to draw unwanted attention. Keep it classy and with stock appearance, and you should be fine. If it was for every modified exhaust, I think Magnaflow and Borla would pack up their HQ and move.

I’ve had a long tubes cammed catless GTO and that thing screamed. Now i have catless stock headers Camaro. I don’t daily it but I’ve had no problems. My smog guy didn’t notice it was catless. Saved some money.

you NEED to put the strut brace on the front. I did it to my 2020 supra and holy hell it made a huge difference. It felt waayy better.

Bros FOURR Speed from factory the 2020 Supra’s have a weird like numbness in the middle, the rear already has a brace but the front doesn’t. It fixed that numbness a lot, and it’s super noticeable at higher speeds. It feels like you have a way better control of the cars front wheels

I have a 2020 same color. Just got used and previous owner did stuff to it. Can you show more of what stock downpipe looks like? I took pics of mine. Shows Euromotive performance on the side. Also has the water methanol injector controller but I can’t find where the stuff goes plus its not plugged in so I’m leaving it unplugged. Love this car though and I plan in making a RU-vid channel simply because of this car 😂.

Thank you! Oh I’ve been enjoying it for sure haha. Already ordered red charge pipe and intake tube plus cold air intake. Do you recommend changing the exhaust? So I def have an aftermarket catless downpipe. With you tuning will an exhaust assist with making power or just sound? I love the sound already but yours is def louder. Thank you for the reply! I’ll take to tuner in the spring. I’m in Missouri and already had snow so she’s in the garage 😂

The factory sport mode with active sound off makes little to no difference inside the cabin but it's significantly louder outside the car. It is on the quiet side I must admit, for my taste at least lol. Ecutek is also not the highest hitter in a flash tune, BM3 is the way to go on these cars for those looking to just downpipe and fast flash tune. Ecutek's tune is more tailored to customized maps oriented for owners who have several mods and want to get the most out of them for high power figures. I've pretty much platformed this car already within the 3 months of ownership, haven't been able to get a turbo upgrade yet readily available through Canadian vendors. Cancelled a pure 700 upgrade after 10 weeks of waiting with no order updates #covidstruggles. The b58 has proven to be a solid engine since 2015/16 in BMW's but these powerplants (specifically in the supra, b58b30c) are proving very power hungry and easy to harness power out of stock so far from my experience as well as many others online.

The active exhaust actually barely makes a difference on the outside. I made a whole video on that. The engine tuning in sport mode is what makes the exhaust louder from the outside. Not the physical valve opening up. And yeah the Supra is an epic car to modify with so much potential!

@@BrosFOURRSpeed the pops and bangs in sport are motor map, if u stand behind it in gear while not moving (while engine is under load) and have someone cycle between normal and sport to actuate the valve, the tone is a fair bit deeper and a bit louder in sport. I will admit, the entire set-up is too tame for any car enthusiast who is buying a supra to start with because the exhaust volume expectations for anyone in that position are much louder than factory exhaust on these cars. My factory went out the door shortly after buying the car with a magnaflow catback in testpipe configuration replacement.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed Yeh I've watched that when you uploaded it and did my own testing by having a friend do some engine load driving in normal and sport and the sport was deeper and louder than normal mode; inside the cabin I never noticed the difference between the modes aside from the pops, my car has had active sound disabled 45mins into ownership lol.

I have the same exhaust AWE EXHAUST, MST INTAKE, TUNE and AMS DOWN PIPE. I will tell you this. Everything you’re saying is true. Car is AMAZING for the money 💰

OEM tires. Wheels are just 1in wider than stock. Next set of tires I'll definitely get wider ones to fit these wheels better and have more grip

Does reliability concern you at all? Just curious because the 11:1 compression ratio of the 2020 Supra is unique. Only 1 other performance turbo car has that high of a compression ratio. Toyota set those limits for the 2020 Supra specifically because it is different than all other cars that use that BMW engine. Those limits were necessary because detonation with the 2020 model is MUCH more likely than any other car using that engine with the proper 10.2 compression ratio. Arbitrarily removing those limits could be very detrimental to the longevity of that engine. Do you know if they did anything else to combat knock?

Bros FOURR Speed did they do anything else to combat knock? Changing the intercooler could help here. Were any changes made there? I know that this BMW engine is known for being able to handle a lot more torque and HP than it comes with from the factory. However, every single one of those engines that has earned that reputation has had the lower 10.2 compression ratio. For the 2020 car Toyota was acutely aware that this engine was different so they put all of those limits in the ECU. Taking those limits off arbitrarily is a risky thing to do. It may work out in the end but it also may not. I am curious to see what happens after it has done many pulls over several months. Has anyone had the tune you have for many months and beat on it often?

mpgxsvcd the ecu in bmw’s is extremely good at detecting knock it will retard timing before a super knock event and they are stupid solid engines. The bmw b58 is better than the 2jz

Tom J but this car isn’t like the other B58 engines. This one has a different compression ratio than all of the other B58 engines including the 2021 Supra. Also that ECU puts severe limits on the 2020 model by default specifically because it is more susceptible to knock than any of the other B58 engines. Removing those limits and then cranking the boost higher will stress this engine greatly unless it is doing something else to avoid that compression ignition. If the engine was protecting itself it wouldn’t be able to produce the torque that it is producing. It appears to be pushing past those limits since the checks it uses have been removed. It may be running great now but I honestly don’t see how it can be producing the numbers that it is producing and still have longevity. It must be delaying the injection pretty late to avoid knocking. I wonder if that affects emissions. Is this car able to pass emissions tests?

Many people have been running 700-800whp on stock engine and transmission with absolutely no problems. The key to these engines is fuel, you have to have enough octane. Ethanol and Methanol injection solves the issue of knock especially with port injection once you are in higher power levels.

The tune shuts off the cats. So they just don't 'exist' in the computer. Thats for 'off road use' only tho of course ;)

Never had any issues over the one year I've had them. Very happy with them! Handles way better then stock and just as comfortable. Wheels are 19in all around. Fronts are 1in wider tho. Rocking the OEM tires

Yeah the springs gave it the perfect ride height! The stock wheels are a bit inside the fender tho. So I have more aggressive off set with wider rims, but still have the original tires on them

Yup. You wont get any power out of the bolt on parts tho. Its all just sound modifications. The ECU is designed to produce a certain amount of power. So it always compensates to produce stock power. Tuning won't effect your insurance. Warranty is iffy because if they can track whatever issue comes up to the tune, they'll void the repair.

Honey the car never sells bad with no cats. Just smells like a bit extra exhaust soot. And the tune will turn off the cat sensors

I love how much faster the Supra is with the same amount of money in mods as the Z. And the Supra handles much better and is very comfortable on the highway for long drives. But I like the Recaro seats in the Nismo a ton more then the Supra seats. And the manual was fantastic. Supra is a better car overall, but I like the old school feeling of the Z. Needs more power tho. After driving one again its a pretty slow car compared to the Supra. So I'd buy another Nismo, but it needs to be turbocharged ;)

Can the speed limiter of 155mph be adjusted/removed? I'm slowly falling in love with the Supra. I've been looking at the GT-R as well as the 2021 Supra GR.

I believe so. Supra should be able to hit like 170. With the tune it did unlock the power limiter over like 120 or so. Stock tune limits the power at high speed. Now it stay full everything till the top speed

@@BrosFOURRSpeed I thought it could be done as well but figured I'd ask. 170 isn't too shabby, maybe more importantly is how quickly you can get there. ;) When I drove the GT-R all I remember is, being in 3rd hovering around 65-70mph and then punching the gas. The GT-R took off like a rocket and I was at 110mph in when felt like 2 seconds. It scared crap out of me but what a damn rush that was. Never felt anything like that before.

Forgive my ignorance but with regards to the downpipes, if you remove the Catalytic Converter, wouldn't you car fail emissions inspection? How do you get around that every year? Installing it, then uninstalling it, then installing it again seems like it would be just a pain.

After a downpipe you'll tune the car. The cats gets turned off in the tune so there is no light. Only in states where they visually inspect the cat can issues come up. Or states where they put the sensor in the tail pipe to read the fumes. No issues for me in NC ;)

RPM is the same as stock. No need to raise it since power starts to go down in the high revs. However the stock tuning limits power after 120 mph. My car has full power to top speed

Technically no. You can't actually void a warranty. The dealership would have to prove the mods caused an issue. If my window stopped working, that would still be covered since non of my mods can effect that. If I'm all tuned and my turbo blows. They will blame the tune and probably not cover a new one. So it's iffy

Nope. Insurance will just cover the stock parts tho, so if you wanted to, you can insure the aftermarket parts. I wouldn't waste the money to insure them tho. But if you want to, go for it

Just depends on if you want a cat for inspections if you cant get away without one. They all fit to the stock exhaust. They are direct replacements to stock

Here is the crazy thing. At 560 lb ft your Supra exceeds the torque per liter value(187 lb ft / liter) of all production cars ever made. The second best car is the European only Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S at 185 lb ft per liter. That car has an 8.6:1 compression ratio instead of the 11:1 compression ratio in your car. Also the CLA numbers are crank torque. Your car is producing that number at the wheels. Honestly, I am not sure how your car is producing these kind of numbers without self destructing. Every other car that produces anywhere near these torque per liter values has a compression ratio below 10:1. Most of those cars are at 9:1 or even less. It just doesn’t add up. However, I have seen your dyno charts and the power and torque is obviously there. I just wonder how they are achieving these literally world class numbers without changing any of the internals of the engine especially that extremely high compression ratio.

They must be doing something to prevent detonation like delaying the fuel injection or something else no one else is doing. Also plenty of people have the same power but I don’t believe anyone else has the same torque, on 93 octane gas, without any internal changes.

I'll keep you posted! Seems like these cars can stand up to a lot of power and abuse! The engine and trans are very strong. It'll be the basic things that wear out. Like a window motor or headlight failing. That will all stay covered no matter what I do to it
