Love the review. Thanks. Torn between this and a 4Runner. XSE makes way more sense, but 4Runner hits my need to pretend to be rugged. Funny that I know that and I still cannot decide.

Hmm, that's a tough one. But I think if you genuinely want comfortable on road driving, go with the Highlander. 4Runner drives like an old truck still and isnt the most comfortable SUV on the road

The 2019 model (specifically red SE) was peak Highlander as far as a sporty look goes imo. They went with a Lexus/Rav4 look in 2020 and now a little bit like the Sienna in 2021 however it’s still one of the better SUVs out there

I can see a bit of that. Definitely seeing a lot of Lexus inspiration in this new Highlander. I think it adds a lot of character.

The car design is really nice in my opinion. My only complaints are the auto start stop feature and the window size. Wished auto makers would make the windows a bit bigger.

My only complaint is that you can't get 3 seats in the middle row with XSE trim. Also, with the highlander hybrid, there is no XSE trim, unfortunately.

This trim level has an issue with struts. Got mine right from the dealer with a bad driver side strut. Dealer is replacing the part later this week.

I haven't been able to check out or review the Acura, but the Acura's do look nice as well! I wish I could check those out to have more info for you, but I've only seen them on the roads!

I love the 2021 Toyota Highlander XSE, it’s very nice! My mom has a 2016 Grand jeep Cherokee, she’s thinking about getting the 2021 Toyota Highlander XSE!

I have a 2018 Camry XSE. In the market for a 3rd row SUV. Was torn between a palisade and telluride but now that I saw the XSE version of the Highlander, I may have another contender! I think Toyota is a little behind on their technology but overall good cars.

That's a tough choice because I do agree with you on the lack of tech especially compared to the Palisade and Telluride! I'm a Toyota fan and have a Tacoma and Supra and my dad has a 4runner, outside those three, I'd really consider other brands for what they have to offer! Nothing against this Highlander, you are getting the reliability! But maybe they will upgrade some features soon for them!

Did you choose a car yet? I'm looking at same three cars. Got cold feet on a limited palisade now regretting it because I can't find any of the 3 in the city I'm in. I'd take whatever comes in stock right now.

@@Rushlarz2112 I went with the platinum! Every time I see an XSE I get a little sad inside because it’s truly so beautiful! However the platinum grill is growing on me. And I absolutely LOVE the features! And the 12 inch screen. Makes such a big difference for me personally.

Oh and I meant the highlander. I’m starting to see more palisades and the more I look at them, the more I’m glad I went with the highlander! But if they were more easily accessible, who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️ overall I’m loving my highlander platinum!!

Eh. Love Toyota Highlander’s, yet this model and their last design on 2020, was so disappointing. Screamed Subaru. Not for me. Then Toyota makes such a nice looking vehicle like the 2022 Toyota Fortuner, that has not future in the USA, yet, I would suspect would sell so great based on the company and the design. Can we have that concept team redesign the Highlander?? Ugh. With the price for a new one, I will wait and cross my fingers 2024 delivers.🤷🏼‍♀️

I could see a little bit of Subaru in the front end. I thinks it's a sharp looking model for 21, not sure how the next generation will look. Usually Toyota goes like 10 years before a complete redesign, so it might be awhile till they change this look again!

Yeah Toyota likes to keep things pretty simple and they don't really crank things up in design like other brands. Simple and reliable

@@BrosFOURRSpeed they charge premium price for simple design while Kia and Hyundai competing with Mercedes Benz and Audi designs. Hey why not spend money on cool designs. Only question is reliability where Kia has best warranty in US market. In US market Toyota need to work on designs and dual screens like Mercedes and Kia carnival has.
