thank you so much! i was literally trying to edit last years to fit everything I wanted to track and was in tears, but you hit every. single. thing. thanks for everything you do for the community!
First off - thank you so much for making this! It's so incredibly helpful and I love the formatting you've put in. I've been enjoying adjusting it to fit my own personal needs. I did come across a small mistake in one of the charts on the yearly stats page while making adjustments, which I thought I'd pass along so others could be aware/you could edit if you're so inclined. The "Books Read From" chart has the "use row 48 as headers" option checked - which means that whatever book source you have listed in row 48 will not show up in the chart (i.e. any books from Audible won't appear). It's an easy fix, just un-tick that option! (but also super easy to miss)
Oh wow this is incredible - the amount of work that you've put in here is phenomenal!! I've only recently found your channel I'm gutted I've found this spreadsheet this close to the end of the year - I'll definitely be trying it for 2023 if you release another one!
You're right, why would I keep reading a series if all the books were 3 stars for me. Thank you! And im on book 5 of zodiac academy. I know it's not for everyone. If you didnt care for the first two, then dont push yourself, you'll just regret it.
Thank you so much for making this spreadsheet. I am so glad I went digging for your spreadsheet this year because I LOVED using it last year. I am so excited to try out the changes you made this year and that you added something that I was (silently) wishing for like the author status!
Thank you so much Ali! I've been using your spreadsheets for three years now and I mainly use them to track my book spending but this year I'll definitely be using that Habit Tracker!!
Thank you so much for all your hard work! I've managed to tweak last years sheet fairly successfully but I could not for the life of me figure out how to fix the habit tracker calendar. Your Sheets skills are amazing!
THANK YOU for this amazing spreadsheet! I used your one for 2020 and it worked great, and I'm so excited for all of the improvements you've made. Sent a little tip to show my appreciation for all the hard work that went into this, and thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into making this! It helped me so much this past year to be able to track all these things; especially how much I was spending on books. XD
Thank you SO MUCH!!!! I really, really appreciate the incredible amount of work and detail you put into this every year. Tip sent, and thank you again!
I did add a column to the Releases tab to reflect pre-order price; I need to curtail my book buying, and sometimes I fool myself into thinking that pre-orders don't count.
Wow!! Thank you so so much for doing this again! I used your spreadsheet religiously last year! I love the new additions like the sub genre!!! My pie chart was like all fantasy. haha. But I'm sooo excited about the new free form tracking! That's freaking amazing! Oh wow the Habit tracker is really cool. I will use it!
Thank you! I used the one you made a few years ago but I haven't been in the mood in the last couple years I guess. I love the habit tracker, so much easier for me than getting a journal.
Holy cow! This was a lot of look that you put in to making this! I’ve been wanting a way to track my unread books that I haul in one place and not in my book journal as it’s analog and as I buy books it’s all over the journal. Thank you for this!
thank you so much! TT__TT you're spoiling us I wasn't planing on using the habit tracker but after hearing how much effort went into it, I'll try to use it
Thank you!! Think I’m going to give this a go for the first few months and see if I like it. I’ve never used a spread sheet tracker for my books before.
Oh yay!!! I was worried you weren’t coming out with one! And you’ve added some things that I was going to figure out how to had myself. Thank you so much for your blood, sweat, and tears
I decided to try and track my reading for the first freaking time ever, goodreads doesn't count :D and you scared me. But I'd like to thank you for all of the work you've put into this spreadsheet ♥ I knew where to get for the good stuff!!
I love this! May be better than the other one I've been using (won't say which). I do have a question. (oop, I feel bad.) I did read the "adding columns and rows" bit of the instructions but can't seem to apply it correctly. Under the reading habits tab I'd like to add a type of reading. Because I personally like to track digital versus physical books, and then audiobooks. So I'd need another row. Is this possible?
the reading habits tracker tab is probably the only tab you can't really add anything to given how many formulas are on it :( adding or removing any rows or columns will mess up the formulas for everything after. There is an empty area after the average daily stats that you can unmerge and put in information there, but you'd probably have to manually add everything there
Never do anything you love for free, girl! This spreadsheet should be only available by purchasing it from you! Completely invaluable for any reader who loves to track their reading progress!
I just made my own spreadsheet and it's not as lavish as yours but I did do a simple one and I love what I created but I also love how much love and care you put into yours though 😍
Hi Ali! Thanks so much for making this! I was curious in the “genres read” section for yearly stats, I put in that I read a classic and it’s not showing up? I put in anthology to see if that would show up and the chart didn’t change, so maybe it’s the whole first row. Also, when I put it as another type of graph, classics showed up on the graph. Thanks for any help!
Not sure if its intentional but i was waiting and this video doesn't show up on your yt like normal. I only found it through Twitter. Either way, thank you!
It was intentional. I had too many random people messaging me for "special requests" and not following directions last year. I mentioned it on twitter and in a recent video so only actual viewers would find it.
The real question is... if you own a book, but borrow the audiobook from the library of that book (which I do A LOT), do you put it under library books, or owned books, or both?
Up to you! I believe you can actually change the format to time format from the top menu. I tend to round to quarters myself (15 mins - .25, 30- .5, 45- .75) because I personally don't care for it to be precise.
No one has ever pointed this out omg 😅 you could always manually put 1 since the formula doesn't recognize anything less than a 24 hour period as a day... I'll have to look!
@@hardbackhoarder Thanks! I thought of doing that but I wasn’t sure if that would mess anything up. Have you ever thought about adding a section for blended/hybrid reading. A lot of the time I’m reading both the ebook and switching to the audiobook. Since I have a Kindle my place gets synced between the ebook and the Audible book. Update: I figured I could just add blend to the format choices and it worked because I read the instructions! I also was able to add it to the Yearly Stats!
Forgive me if this is in the video, I'm comfortable with excel so I didn't feel the need to watch all of this, but out of curiosity did you consider adding a sexuality tab for authors as you did for race?
I didn't mention in the video but I addressed it at the end of the directions page that I don't personally feel any author has to be out or open with their sexuality and that sexuality can be fluid making it harder to track but anyone is welcome to add it for their own tracking!
