Video was great. We test drove an LE on Thursday and loved it. We have a Venza on order. We will not get it until the end of October. This car rode almost as good as our Highlander. Very quiet. Loved the acceleration. Like you Jeff we did not care for a moonroof. Keep the videos coming. Although I will not be needing another Toyota for some time I will still want to see what my car will do.

This was by far THE BEST review of interior technology, seat comfort, etc that you have done Jeff. I test drove the XLE Venza. I found the seat very comfortable, but since the car had just come off the truck less than an hour before the 12.3 screen and blind-spot monitoring were not hooked up. I would like you to show us how Navigation works. I would also like to see a full-screen for Navigation too. I like how you used voice activation to find restaurants though. I really like the flip switch in the rearview mirror to see a rear camera behind the car especially in heavy rain. That was great. I am sure it works well in snow too. The Venza seems to drive well in driving rain.

Thank you for posting. As always lots of very helpful information. Thanks for road test in those not so easy driving conditions. Rain is probably my least favorite weather conditions to drive in. Like you said the Venza is a very sturdy vehicle on all types of roads. Toyota did their homework once again. Safety features very nice. I think the lane assist would possibly be my top choice. Not sure why but I tend to drift a little to the right when I drive. Good luck with your next vehicle choice. Toyota does not make it easy. Quality from cars to crossover to trucks. Be well. Take care of that cold/allergies. Hopefully we see you in the NASCAR Hall of Fame!!! :)

This detailed level of information is available nowhere else! Well done Jeff! (Already a subscriber.) I was leaning towards a RAV4 Prime but now I'm not sure. Jeff, please do a side by side comparison of the safety features (standard and optional) on the 2021 RAV4, 2021 RAV4 Prime, and the 2021 Venza. A simple chart would do (or perhaps a downloadable spreadsheet ?).

Abdu rahim It is the best Toyota car, my mom just got one from the dealership yesterday and the car had JBL sneakers, included with a SOS button if your car gets in a crash and ETC. it’s pretty quiet so if your trying to go some where without being loud and waking up your neighbors, I think it’s a good choice 👍🏾

It really reminds me of the new Acura RDX to drive. Always has traction and darts around corners with no drama. We were between the two but the Venza is a hybrid and my wife really wanted a hybrid. The interior is just okay in my opinion, doesn't have enough room for "stuff" when two people occupy the front seats. Voice command is pretty bad, but we use Android Auto and Carplay. In Canada we don't have sign assist like you do in America, would love that feature unlocked here. The lana assist wanders a lot in my opinion, but using cruise without lane assist is great. We have Michelin X-Ice tires on up here, lots of snow and ice, and the traction is great. The braking system really helps when trying to stop on sheer ice. Overall the Venza is fuel efficient, sporty driving, and easy to speed in as it's so quiet and smooth. If you are looking at an RDX I recommend driving this right after and then ponder the price savings on the purchase and the fuel savings.

Bought my Limited two days ago. Coastal gray. Love it. Some negative comments. Terribly confusing infotainment system. Very small storage bins. No hooks to hold shopping net in back. Bonus. Decent storage over the spare tire. I have a half dozen empty shopping bags over it. Keeps visible area clean. Sweeping leg under back bumper both opens and closes hatch. Salesman didn’t know that.

This 2021 Toyota venza is like a mini lexus. Very nice but not so cheap. It is between RAV4 and Highlander. I physically sat inside this vehicle at my local Toyota dealership. Although I have not tested drive yet. I will do it someday.

I test drove a Lexus RX 350. It is not better than the new Venza. The Venza Limited is a better value. The only thing I would want on the Venza Limited is a functioning Moonroof.

Are there any videos showing how to use the very confusing infotainment system? It would be a hot watch. My previous car was a Ford Fusion with sync 3, and that infotainment system was fantastic.

Venza or Harrier is so popular in japan because Rav 4 has stopped in manufacture more or less 10 years ago because of safety reasons.But rav 4 was released again just last year 2019.Harrier is a luxury car at some point but I prefer the Rav 4.

Jeff, Can you do a 2022 Venza 'Road Test'? A Limited with the HUD and Pano-Roof. (ALL the Toys) Did this one have the Rain Sense Wipers? I had a 2021 Venza Limited for two days as a loaner. (As my brand new RAV4 Limited Hybrid had the Interior & Exterior Protection Packages Applied) It was a real nice ride. No HUD though but it did have the cool new Pano-Roof. I really liked the Side Mirrors, Tilt, and Memory Seats working in conjunction. That is a nice feature and very Lexus-Like.

Explain how the guages work. I have a ford cmax hybrid and can visually see when it's on ev alone, or with battery and how much charge is left in the battery and shows when it's charging or discharging. I test drove the Venza today and was pretty confused by the guage on the left.

Kind of surprised that a regular opening sunroof is not even optional. This definitely makes the NX300 Hybrid look pretty obsolete.

I’ve been wanting a Tacoma or 4Runner, but the back seat of the Tacoma is too small. I’ll soon ( depending on COVID) be back to 100+ mile/day commutes, so the mileage of a 4Runner is less attractive. So then I started thinking RAV4 hybrid. But now you’ve got me thinking Venza. Hmmm

One significant thing I don't like with modern vehicles is the position of the headrests. It pushes and tips your head forward when the spine is perfectly in contact the the seatback. In my 2014 Prius C, it is exactly like Mr. Toyotajeff. It is just so very uncomfortable and unnatural. And it is also unsafe because when you wanna make a shoulder check to the left, all will be seen is the huge chunk of headrest impinging the peripheral vision. Why can't they make headrest with an adjustable tilt.

If you prefer a roomier interior I would recommend the Venza. Love the exterior and overall size of RAV4 but was very disappointed with how “tight” the interior of rav 4 felt compared to the Venza

I test drove a 2021 Venza Limited on Friday, and one thing that annoyed me was that if the seatbelts in the backseat were unhooked, but a back door had been opened at some point before leaving, the seatbelt chime would go off when driving. The only way to get it to stop was to buckle the seatbelts. No one was sitting in the seats, and you’d think there would be a sensor for that. Is there a system override for the feature? I’ve been told that newer Camrys do this as well.

I’ve had mine for a week and like but don’t love it. Styling is really beautiful inside and out. Ride quality is on point. Steering is a bit too floaty / soft for my liking. The Acceleration is sluggish and noisy and the navigation is atrocious . The Navi interface is overly crowded, saturates then screen with unnecessary data points , and does NoT expand to the full 12 inches making a 12 inch display a bit useless. The slightest touch of the screen triggers a separate search circle /crossbar which is almost impossible to get off the screen ...extremely frustrating. The voice command features are clunky and inefficient. The interface to change the temperature is overly complex ....too digitalized . The navigation in my old Acura TL , old Mazda CX-5 and current GLC are soooo much more user friendly. I’m so mad at myself for paying the $2000 upgrade

vesaliususb you can use apple car play maps. The embedded maps are here simply if you don’t have lte connection with your phone. It is a backup. I disagree with you the cx 5 is terrible. You cannot even touch the screen when driving. Their button system is the dumbest thing. Their camera resolution is awful. There is no space on the second row. The gas usage is sky rocketing with a cx5. And i don’t trust the brand. Mazda still have to prove their car can last 20 years.. i tested the rav4 screen system and it is efficient. However The bose system in the mazda sounds better. The rav4 is not bad but the mazda sound system is more warm.

I think I am doing much better in fuel economy than you :) It is a slow car of course, especially after driving Audi and Mercedes, it feels like a turtle car, and definitely not for young people. Overall it is not bad, depends on what you expect from this car. Thanks Jeff

The rear-view visibility is really lousy. My 99 RX300 (the first Harrier sold in he USA) has an excellent rear-view visibility. Also the LCD screen is way too big and annoying. It intrudes too much into the driver space. But the comfort looks good and the fuel economy is outstanding. I wish they had kept the dimensions and shape of the early RX300...
