Could be braves are usually cheap when it comes to contracts I do hope we can keep Freeman it’s not looking good though other wise he would have been signed by now!
@@finnormond9364 Yeah he said himself he didn’t want to talk about contracts during the season. I’m sure him and the Braves are just now processing how long he can be great for and then how long he can just be good for. Also if/when the DH will come into play but I think it’s like a 6 yr/170ish type deal with some type of option after 4th/5th year.
I keep watching highlights from this post season almost because it seems like a dream that the Braves pulled it off. I have been a die hard Braves fan since I was 4 years old in 1979 and they have given me great moments and heartbreak. As much as the 1995 win was amazing I think this one was sweeter because nobody thought they had the team to do it. A complete team effort with a different player coming up big almost every single game. While they had to choose an MVP and I get why Soler won it I think the real MVP was that Bullpen which was lights out time and time again the entire post season. They shut down powerhouse offense after powerhouse offense. It was old school Baseball at its best and proof that great pitching beats great hitting teams almost every single time. So proud of my Braves!!!
2021 World Series was definitely more special... we weren't expected to do anything after Acuna went down... the whole team made huge contributions to this dream session!
We are an individualist society, the US. It’s about personal glory first and group accomplishment after. Can you imagine them giving an MVP award to a committee of 10 bullpen pitchers? That would be as exciting as a Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval.
It's surreal, endless string of playoff disapointments, amazing teams that just didn't click when they had to, over 20 years of no major championships in the city of Atlanta... and this team that looked dead in the water after over half the season just found absolute magic. What a run. Every player coming up with huge at bats, incredible defense, key strikeouts,, just so many incredibly clutch plays to overcome a guantlet of powerhouse teams. The sweetest moment for me was getting past the Dodger team in game 6. The Eddie home run and the Matzek miracle inning are the greatest Braves memories for me. After that I just knew deep down the WS was in the bag.
@@gamble777888 Agreed, that Matzek inning was a huge catalyst to the teams confidence and momentum which in the post season is everything. Watching a different player seemingly step up every night was a sight to behold. That bullpen that looked ruff at the all star break all of a sudden started pitching lights out and when you have an offense like that with an amazing bullpen it's almost impossible to stop. Such an awesome season and I agree going through the dodgers to win it all made it even sweeter.
Been a braves fan my whole life. Don't remember 1995 as I was 9 and didnt get to see it. This video is legit bringing me tears. This year was special for sure.
Same here. I was 13 in 95 & don’t remember much about it. Watching the highlights of this season brings me to tears every time I watch them. Such a story of triumph after so many past seasons of struggle. To have Anthopoulos take the reigns & make the deals necessary to get them from 44 wins at the all star break to where they could have the best record after the all star break to start the amazing run in the playoffs will go down as some of the best management ever.
Listened to around 150 games or so this season, it usually ended with our bullpen blowing the lead, but they showed up when it mattered most and all the heartbreak made it worth it!
@@libradawg9 I think Smoltz said it best…1995 was a year where the Braves finally got over the hump after 3 heartbreaking Series losses in the early nineties…no one saw this championship run coming
@@KingJaymo2k11 It was so awful. After that CLASSIC series in 91 we almost took it to Game 7 at home but Winfield said no. Then the magical comeback against the Giants only to drop the NLCS before we hated the Phillies. We were doing all these great things until FINALLY we got it in 95. Justice even said before Game 6 that if they didn't do it the fans would run them out of Atlanta. Then he hits the GW HR.
Soler putting that ball into the stratosphere in game six i believe took every houston astro’s soul. Then the final out…i cried. So proud to be from atlanta. This was a magical season.
Crazy to say I witnessed all of these moments live! (Working for MLB Network). What a great time to be a Braves fan! I will never forget this postseason. This World Series.
When Eddie's hit that 3-run HR against the Dodgers I burst into legit TEARS. That may very well go down as the biggest hit in franchise history. I was in the building at the time and it was PANDEMONIUM.
@@painterspainter2234 I know Rosario's dinger probably doesn't top Cabrera, but I'd have to imagine it's up there as it was a decisive moment for the game, and the series.
After years of watching Freddie I’ve just realised when left hand stud pitchers are destroyed on their best stuff by him they are like, “WTF just happened”. He is majestic.
This and UGA winning within a few months of each other was the greatest feelings ever for a Georgia sports fan. Pure tears and joy with my family, generational story telling in sports lore. Magical. I live in Chicago now and know a lot of people, predominantly Cubs fans. What they felt for their 2016 season is how we felt with this recent WS and Natty. The only terrible part of this vid is the Freeman homerun in game 6. "In what might be his last at bat..." With the caption "No it's not." I really believed he'd stay. The money we offered him was comparable to what the Dodgers gave him but he wanted a year or 2 more commitment. He chose his home state. After taxes he's making less than he would in Atlanta. Cali taxes are tough. Thank you Freddie for over a decade of joy and you will always be a Braves legend.
@@TarPack_Pod lol, just subbed to you my man. I pray to whatever God there is youre correct. I miss Freddie already. Losing Freddie and Matty Ice in a matter of months :( "Did you do it?" "Yes." "What did it cost?" "Everything."
My god... I've been a braves fan since I was a kid watching them on tbs.... I cried when they won this world series.... I cried again watching this video....
I'll never get tired of watching Matzek and Smith come in in game 6 of the NLDS and just go to work. What's really amazing to me is, the Braves NEVER trailed in either series. At no point did the Brewers, Dodgers, or Astros ever take the lead.
Braves fan since 1995 when I was 9 years old. It took 26 long years to feel that again and it sure is incredible. I will watch this dozens more times over the coming months, bet your ass! Chop on!
I've been a Braves fan since 1978 when Bob Horner broker into the Major. This World Series win ranks right up there with the 1991 season in terms of sheer joy of rooting for the team. Thanks for posting the video.
Im 41. started watching the Braves in 1990. To me it dosent seem like a lot of time has passed but when i step back and realize that I only had to wait 5 years to see the braves win the world series initially. It never occurred to 15 year old me that i would have to wait another 26 years to witness this event again. This is what i love about baseball. Even though over two and a half decades passed, when they won, i wasnt just celebrating the braves. I was celebrating the people that introduced me to this team. Many of them are not among us anymore. However, I am confident that they too, shared in our joy at watching the Bravos become americas team once again.
I always get a laugh listening to Ben's call at 9:35. I know he's saying Rosario "dropped the hammer on that pitch" but if you aren't paying attention it always sounds like something else and I like to imagine that's what he was really thinking considering who we were facing.
Man that Soler homer in game 6 of the World Series is something I’ll never forget. Most exhilarating experience of my lifetime. And how can you forget Rosario’s performance through the entire postseason?!? Gotta be one of the greatest postseason performances. I mean I saw a stat that said he was batting over .800 at some point in the NLCS. Has to be my favorite season by any sports team ever especially after loosing Acuña and having an entirely new outfield
Got tears in my eyes watching that process I'm Atlanta born and raised 43yrs I love my city and state. Thank God it's looking like another one this year👌🏾👌🏾
It still hasn’t really sunk in yet. I was 9 months old in 95 and since then it’s only been disappointment. Until now. Braves country the boys really did the damn thing
This was a great video. When I was a kid I would watch Dale Murphy, Bob Horner, and Jerry Royster in those ugly blue pajamas. Then came the magical 90s when the Braves were so dominant and had so many great players, but they could only win one title. To see the Braves win it all with this team is something special. And if they can keep the core intact and get Acuna back, they could build something special like they had in the 90s. Go Braves!
The Atlanta Braves are the team of my life. I inherited the love for this team from my mother. After a long time we can say Atlanta is the World Champion! ♥ ️🪓🔥
I’ll never forget this moment. I was 1 when they won in 95 and getting to watch all the games live and losing my shit watching the Soler homer in game 6 in a bar will be the best feeling ever
Rewatching this just before the 2022 season starts and its so bittersweet. Winning the WORLD SERIES feels amazing but knowing that these highlights are the last time we'll see Freddie Freeman in a Braves uniform just feels so sad.
I had gotten over it, till the dodgers came to Atlanta this weekend and Freddie cried the whole time. The fans support overwhelmed with. He then fired his agent.
The way the NLCS and the World Series ended was awesome . The Braves won the NLCS in Game 6 with Smith pitching and the final play was a ground ball to Swanson and then Freeman . The Braves won the World Series in Game 6 in the same way with the same 3 players .
The Braves won it all, the fall after I graduated high school in 95 and then they won it all again in 2021, the fall after my oldest graduated high school. Pretty cool. I was watching in the living room with my boys (delayed, because I was watching online) and went to the car and turned on SiriusXM to hear the Braves' radio call of the 9th inning, and then called my buddy, who's also a Braves fan, tears in my eyes and celebrated this win, which was a long time coming. It really is too bad that Freddie didn't want to play for Atlanta anymore and that Swanson moved on to the Cubs (I guess he wanted to have Octobers off?) but that's baseball.
There's nothing better than listening to the crack of the bat when Rosario hits that 3 run home run. Crack, you just know it's gone. You've got to love the reaction of Eric Young Snr when Rosario reaches 1st.
Watching before the 2023 season, heartbreak the last 2 postseasons, feeling really good about this season, I just want one more world series win to spend it with my grandfather, just found out he has cancer so it'd mean a lot for him to see at least one more as a life long braves fan, God bless and chop on
My favorite part of these videos is listening to the roar of fans in the stands...even in Houston for the final out, it sounds like they could've been in Atlanta, lol!
always love the braves hat it was sum about the A on the hat and i love atl looked into baseball again and this is def my favorite team im never changing side go braves
