Thank you all for watching, this list was especially difficult to make compared to last year. I would have loved to include moments like Logan Webb's outings, the Blackout Game, Bellinger's clutch HR, Boston's grand slams, Framber's outing, and much more. Of course, there are only 10 spots, and here are the best this year had to offer in my opinion. I would love to hear your rankings below!
no love for the White Sox, beat Houston in game 3 they’ve been cheating for 4 yrs straight. that’s the only reason we didn’t advance, we played a horrible ball club
Anybody notice how the last play that the Braves won the NLCS and World Series was almost identical? Ground ball to Swanson who threw to Freeman at first and Freeman threw both hands up in celebration and then they storm the mound.
@@marcovehurley With the exception of the Giants check swing which we'll never know if it would have made a difference or not...they still had a lot of work to do. Two strikes, down by 1, and down to their last out. Hurt to go out that way but chances are that run wasn't scoring. The Braves were the team hurt the most by umpiring and pulled it off despite that. Edit: The Rays not getting both of those runs with 2 outs and runners going on contact is incredibly unfortunate also.
I’ve never been more fired up watching the Braves then when Matzek struck out the side against the Dodgers. I didn’t even go as crazy during game 6 of the World Series. Matzek getting out of that inning was like the city of Atlanta climbing out of the hole it’s teams have been in for the last 26 years. For the first time I thought “Oh my God they’re gonna do it” instead of trying to figure out when they would blow it.
Ya - WS Game 6 had a lot of “destiny” moments. Little things that would normally go wrong went right. For all the bad luck ATL teams have had, it was about time we had some good luck!
@@claydouglas2526 Agreed. Was lucky enough to be at that game and I've never been at a stadium that was so fired up. That and the Rosario robbing Altuve of the double on his catch at the wall I'm convinced were the two biggest reactions from the crowd of the postseason.
@@barbos5950 He may actually be right, as Acuña's injury was the catalyst for AA signing all those outfield pieces, who in turn not only brought production to the field in terms of personal stats, but brought a different mentality to the clubhouse itself to energize it (Joc in particular). Yeah, it sucks Acuña got hurt, but in the long run it may have indirectly benefitted us.
Absolutely. I have no arguments with either Rosario or Soler as series MVPs. They earned it. But for the postseason as a whole? Tyler Matzek, hands down.
@@brlybseballplayer34 Tbf Matzek was put into MUCH worse jams to fight out of. He had more high stress pitches than Smith. Will was still fantastic though.
Honestly I think he did. Watch the replay again, I'm pretty confident from the little spanish I know that he said "Nuestro hora" once when he points to the plate and yells toward the dugout and then he repeats it to himself again as he's watching it leave the entire stadium lmao. Would translate to "Our time".
@@claydouglas2526 honestly i thought he yelled “soy salvaje” Im a savage lol. Epic either way. In an interview he says he yelled “im here” but i dont see “aqui” anywhere. Awesome moment
I know right? I don't generally care about players being weird like that, but that Correa one was like 5 rows into a short porch. Hardly a big enough mash to stand at home plate. And it was in the 7th, which is probably technically late inning but not as big as an 8th or 9th inning one would be.
The Braves won when I was born in 95’ and 26 years later I finally get to see them win. I loved this post season run by my hometown team and everyone in GA believed in them from game 1 of NLDS. Thank you Braves for making this such a special moment for all of us, Hank Aaron is smiling down on this team
@@yelyharmony2047 It might have been aggravated by the landing, but it was 1) definitely fractured before [per MLB’s report] and 2) not horrible even post-landing - since he was able to walk off under his own power - so not unreasonable that he was able to pitch to a few hitters post-fracture / pre-aggravation. Broken legs cut a wide swath re: loss of function.
Great list. Freddie Freeman taking Josh Hader deep in a tie game, lefty on lefty is still so insane to me. Hader was untouchable this season -- especially against lefties, and Freeman took him deeeeep when it mattered most.
This was easily the best postseason baseball I’ve ever seen next to 2002 my angels of course been a braves fan deep down I do live in Cali so I root for my Angels first but they’ve been sucking recently so it’s nice my childhood team got it done. A World Series worth remembering.
@@dannyspider9377 It sucks when a team you loved for a long time has succumbed to the Succubus of realizing that you can’t win any final without cheating. Cheating would also result in the entire team getting rattled on for a long time until you finally made the agreement to stop and win a real Championship. There are still people out there who still consider the Astros cheaters and would go out of their way to make sure that the nickname of “Houston Asterisks” is still in play, while also shitting on the Organization while also hiding the past. There’s one thing for certain though; Fuck Beltran.
That was just pitiful commentating. The dude just hit one of the greatest, most memorable home runs of his life and you mention he MIGHT not re-sign with his current (about to win the World Series for the first time in 26 years) team. Just garbage. His friends and family are watching, his BIGGEST fans are watching, HE’S gonna rewatch this, and we all have to deal with your bullshit Joe Buck. Just go home…
as a braves fan, the Matzek 7th inning was when i finally told myself "we're going to the world series". one of the most clutch relief innings of all time. absolutely electric
I was never a Braves fan but I really enjoyed watching them this year. They battled their way through and everyone on their roster was a major contributor along the way. I can’t think of a team more deserving to be the champions.
What an amazing season Braves! Congrats!!! As a life-long Braves fan that grew up in Marietta and who still lives in Georgia, I have fond memories of watching them when I was a kid with my grandfather and mom who were both HUGE fans. My grandfather passed away in 1992 while watching the Braves in his hospital room and my mom passed away from cancer in 2004 but I swear, as I was watching Game 6, I could almost hear and feel them on both sides of me sharing in the excitement as we watched that final out when the Braves won it all! I knew they were up in Heaven with Hank Aaron doing the Tomahawk Chop, rooting for the Braves and with that last out, it was the perfect storybook ending. It was like God Himself planned the 2021 Braves season and victory as the perfect underdog movie to prove to all humanity that anything is possible when you have faith. With faith, we can overcome any obstacles thrown at us. When we love and support one another regardless of race, circumstances, or political beliefs - anything is possible! Here is another thing I thought I'd mention that proves this couldn't have been scripted any better as a movie. Hank Aaron died on January 22nd of this year. The Braves had 44 wins at the All-Star break. They won 44 more games to get to the playoffs. They won the World Series on November 2nd, the 44th week of the year. Hank Aaron's number was 44. That is destiny. This season was epic! I believe this season was God letting us know that even in these challenging times in which we live, when it seems that all hope is lost, that God is alive and well and that miracles are still possible when we have faith and persevere regardless of how bad things may appear. I believe that God used the 2021 Braves season as a metaphor to show us that He loves this great nation and that it is still the land of the free and home of the brave(s). This season united us all. Thank you Atlanta Braves for being the vessel that God used to show that through faith all things are possible!
That's why i tuned in to 680 The Fan to hear Ben Ingram and Joe Simpson call the NLCS and WS games. Far superior play by play and commentary. Jeff Francoeur is great but Ron Darling was insufferable.
You know watching the Braves this October they got my respect and appreciation as a team and as a franchise what a job by the ownership by the front office and by the coaching staff the players they’re a very professional, ethical franchise from head to toe they’ve always directed that ship down there the right way. It’s always been a classy organization from head to toe congratulations to them really congrats
such a crazy postseason unlucky that my dodgers couldn't pull through and win especially with the moments we had this postseason but happy to see the Braves pulled it off!
Yeah, I would consider that to be a much bigger moment than Arozarena stealing home. Stealing home is cool, but it was the 4th run in a 5-0 game. Surely that 8th inning was a bigger moment. That steal and the Scherzer strike out were two that didn't make any sense to me. Those and the Correa one being third were weird decisions.
Watching this as a Braves and Dawgs fan, and I still can't believe we got both championships in the same year. It's been an amazing few months. So grateful
Matzek should have been #1. He's got to be the best fireman I've ever seen. I had chills watching what he did to the Dodgers. And had to start with Albert Effing Pujols. Earned his nickname.
15:46 was when I knew the braves were gonna win a championship. How pivotal was it to have a man on second and third with NO outs and to strikeout the entire side? Words cannot express how incredible that moment was. Well deserved at number two.
The Braves had some unbelievable slides at home plate. Rossario's against the Dodgers and Dansby's in the World Series were two of the best I've ever seen.
Dansby was born and raised in Atlanta he said he used to dream of winning the World Series with the braves and that was just him living his childhood dreams
I get putting the World Series clincher at #1 but Matzek striking out the side with no outs and two men in scoring position, as a Braves fan I was in utter despair and thought we were going to lose the lead, was cussing out both Snitker for putting in Jackson, and cussing out Jackson for putting the Braves in a hole, then Matzek had the most clutch moment of the post season. In that moment he was truely the greatest pitcher to ever step on the mound it felt like. In that moment he was the most filthy dominant pitcher in the postseason. Love that man for that moment. It’s a moment I’ll never forget, on the flip side I gaged ten years during that inning 😜😂
15 seconds into the video im already sad. At my grandpas house to watch this one. Waino threw a beauty. On the driver home we listen to this one on the radio.
The last time my Braves won the world series I was 12. It is so sweet to see them win it again. I can not get enough of watching that last out and that feeling I get everytime I watch it. Go Braves.
I’m a lifelong Braves fan and loved every minute of this postseason, but Arozarena stealing home has got to be one of the most impressive clips I’ve ever seen, especially from a rookie.
That was the most dominant post season by a bullpen in history by a mile minter was fantastic in long relief Luke was solid all except one bad outing matzek and smith had two of the best post seasons ever this bullpen won this WS hands down
Ngl I still think the Astros are a respectable franchise and were a great team this year. Braves were just better and they had endless momentum on their side after beating LA. They deserve every bit of this glory!
I’m very disappointed that the Red Sox hitting three grand slams in two games wasn’t on the list. But I get it, there were so many good moments it was hard to fit them all. Here’s my top 10 moments this postseason: 10. Taylor’s walk off homer in NL wild card game 9. Pivetta’s dominant relief performance in ALDS Game 3 (Rays @ Red Sox) 8. Freeman’s 8th inning homer to send Braves to NLCS 7. Bellinger’s game tying HR and Betts’ go-ahead hit in NLCS Game 3 6. Braves walk off Dodgers in NLCS Games 1 & 2 5. Red Sox walk off Rays in ALDS Games 3 & 4 to advance to ALCS (on a lucky GRD call) 4. Swanson and Soler hitting back-to-back HRs and Rosario’s catch in WS Game 4 3. Red Sox hitting three grand slams against the Astros 2. Matzek’s dominant relief performance in NLCS Game 6 sending Braves to WS 1. Soler’s mammoth HR in WS Game 6 and Braves win title
As an astros fan I gotta give the braves hella credit.. they were so clutch.. and didnt mind that astros losing to a great team like that.. it was just their year..congrats to the braves and all their fans
I was working at Chick-Fil-A when Swanson and Soler went back-to-back and I had the game playing while we were finishing closing. I was thrilled when Swanson hit it out and then went absolutely insane when they went back to back. I will never forget that moment
shoulda been the top 11 postseason moments so belli’s 3 run homer off luke jackson in the nlcs coulda been in there somewhere. i know we lost in the end but damn was that a GAME.
As an Astros fan I congratulate the Braves fans for another title. I know it's a bit late but I didn't know this video was up😂. I'm not on the internet all the time. Atlanta, you guys are awesome and you definitely should have more titles, especially with the teams in the 1990s you had. Let's hope we get a season this year.
The content this channel produces is better than anything primetime cable has to offer. Outstanding job on all things related to the MLB Postseason. Thank you...Chop On!!
It was nice to give the astros one...power outage for Houston go braves! Great video thanks for putting it together..fun post season especially if you love the braves!
Matzek's pitching performance in Game 6 against the Dodgers was epic - the best of baseball, right there. That's when I knew that the Braves would win it all.
I had a baseball game the night the braves won it and had school the next day so I couldn’t see the braves win it aside from highlights but when I heard it brought tears of joy to me
On another note......I started noticing that Soler liked a certain pitch.....a hangin curve or breaking ball......loved seein that slow hanger float right into his wheelhouse on the homer he hit over the train tracks......he hits the ball HARDDDD when he connects.
