One the cleanest builds I have seen, I have a '23 Limited coming in a month, you covered lots of items I want to add. Thanks for taking the time to post.
@@Milkweed81L It can in about a week ago, the dealer normally gets a notice when it crosses the border to US and then 3 days time but with this shipment it just showed up
Very nice build, just bought a new 2023 Defender Limited Max a month ago and you covered things that i wanna do as well. Very detailed video, thanks for taking the time to make it for the rest of us.
My audio installer went one step further on the JL Audio roof. After we added the the extra speakers, they pulled down some of the other speakers and stuffed several bags of poly fill which really tightened up the sound quality. As for adding another amp, the installer saved me some money and just tied the back 4 speakers into the same amp in the roof. It dropped everything down to 2ohms and increased the efficiency and power. It sounds great. I added an old Stillwater Kicker powered Sub that I had setting around for now just to make sure I wasn’t going to have a bunch of vibration and residence from the bass before I go for a full out mounted sub. I does so well for my taste, I’ll probably strap it down and leave like it is till this self-contained unit craps out before I upgrade. Thanks for all the ideas. I also installed the Z-Broz shocks. Like them. Also, love my CamLocker box. It’s full!
Dude ,very well done , i am currently on the list for the 23. any chance you have a list of upgrades ? I am "That Guy " as well .High end High quality .Thanks
I've been looking at SxS for a while now. Was leaning towards a more performance-oriented machine like a TERYX, Talon or RMAX but while looking through your RAM Truck content, I saw this post - and your Defender LoneStar just stopped me in my tracks. It reminds me of a mini-Jeep Renegade! Very nice! I got to thinking about where I'm going to be riding (building retirement home in NW Arkansas after living in Dallas Tx for the last 36 years) and this rig fits the terrain up here. Not a lot of high-speed stuff up here at all. Mostly tight trails and logging roads. I like to get my wife out with me and having climate control would be a plus to get more trail time. Thanks so much for sharing this with the community!
Thanks for watching! I have a special needs daughter that has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. She can’t be exposed to extreme temps for very long at all. The cab is amazing. It allows us to do more and go to more events. We went to a outdoor event tractor pull last week and took the canam. It is so quiet idling with ac on most didn’t even know it was running. It definitely has its pros and cons. We rv with toy hauler a lot and a lot of places don’t allow utv. Those places we take the wife’s jeep or the golf cart. The ac and heat works really well. Glad the video helped!
Well Rocky I’m shocked! Great video / nice 😎 Build But all these Q ? S just listen to The video 🤪 your being a great sport answering some of these Clowns 🤡 and I applaud you for not answering how much it cost. If they have to ask cost ? Really 🥴 Yes this has shown me why I won’t be posting mine. Some of these people ? God help them if there’s something serious going on in there world 🤦🏻 Who held there hand last week. Sorry just blown away
That’s clean as eff!! I got me a 23’ Polaris XP 1000 ranch collection with all the bells and whistles ordered. It’s coming with LED’s heated seats and ac with a touch screen operation, gun mount etc… God Bless America 🇺🇸
How does it do with the 35's with no portals? I have Jakes arms/ S3 springs on mine with 35's and it is bogged down pretty bad. Already broke a reverse chain.
For your cell pone mount, did you mean the Diamond Base, not the triangle mount? I went to RAM web site and couldn't find anything named triangle mount. Can you provide more details on the base and arm? How did you bolt the base to the column? Did you use some type of compression bolt (if so what type) or were you able to use a nut from other side of column?
I was able to get the info on cell phone mount directly from RAM. Arm and base are RAM Double Socket Arm with Diamond Plate - B Size Medium (part #RAM-B-103-238U). But I have a larger Motorola Edge 5G phone so I need a different holder: RAM Quick-Grip XL Phone Holder with Ball (part #RAM-HOL-PD4-238AU). But I'm still confused about attaching the base to the column. Another viewer asked how you did it and you stated using the hardware that came from RAM. But how were you able to use nuts inside the column???? RAM stated I'll have to get hardware from a third party for installation but didn't say what hardware.
I am about to use the Diamond plate mount, the double socket switvel arm and find a mount for my iphone, I would assume he used some sort of a nut sert/riv nut to mount to the column. have you mounted yours?@@brucemezei1129
So 35’s will for sure clear with the 2” forward super atv arms on a lonestar max? About to order them if so. Jakes arms are double the price but do advertise that they will clear 35-37’s . Super atv says 32’s
All depends on tire width.. Super Atv did clear 35’s for me with s3 springs also.. Jakes will clear 37’s.. Do you want to run your swaybar? Then you will need super atv. Do you plan to run full size steering stops? You lose turning radius with steering stops. The more forward the arm the more the axle will bind in 4x4. If you turn to sharp in 4 wheel drive the axle will snap. I milled my stops down and never had an issue with 2” arms. If you plan to run 37’s get the Jakes.. They also have some lift built in so you will probably need to to the rears also or you will be high in the front. Hope this helps…
Thanks! I don’t plan on ever getting 37’s, I have 35” system 3 xtr370’s on the way so hopefully they’ll clear! Lol I went ahead and ordered the super atv arms, new ball joints, and the tie rods. They were running a sale on arms I couldn’t pass up.
Nice job! Mine has door gaps also. Did you just move latch that's on the frame? Also I have weather stripping coming loose from the rear door window seals whenever the windows are rolled up/down. Do yours do this?
I just subscribed. Do you remember what screws you used when you attached your Ram mount. I’m trying to use the existing hole that is there like you did. Thanks for your help. Loving your channel.
I guess I’m making this harder than it should be. How did you get the nuts on the backside of the bolts with such a small access area? There is a circular hole on the side but not large enough to put the nuts on the back of the bolts. Did you widen that to get access or did you just use bolts that were self tapping with no nuts on the back?
I have looked every were for the light bar brackets everybody has the cheap ones. were did you find yours. sry for bothering you. but thx for getting back to me.
@rockyrohde Was there a certain fender flare that fit with the stock skid plate for the rear bottom flares or did you cut them to fit around the skid plate? My CanAm flares look to be the bigger size also so you may not know.. Dealership will have to figure these out with the lonestar belly/skid plate for me, unless someone else knows. Not drilling until I get a better answer.
Yeah I am not gonna push that much power so someone else can hear what i'm listening to fora tenth of the money I will insulate and dynamat the cab if i cant hear my tunes over my 23 limited
Hey Rocky…. When I called Rough Country regarding your 50” Black Series LED Curved Dual Row light they told me there bracket mounts only work on the straight LED light. What brackets did you use and did you get them from Rough Country?
I called Rough Country and didn't know anything about a regular bar bracket. 🤷♂anything else I could tell them. I even tried telling him to look your SXS up.
Rough Country curved Black series light bar....Rough Country says they don't make a curved for Can Am! LOL can you tell me what you have so I can order it. what are the mounts for it? thank you
Awesome Defender!!! How were you able to run the wires with the HVAC system on the way? Im trying to run some rear bumper lights but I cant get them to the dash to have a rocket switch because the Hvac in on way. Any idea? Thanks
The unit has pass through wires from switch rocker panel to fuse box under the hood. I believe I ran my backup light wires through the tray in the center of the floor.
Had it made from the switch guy on eBay.. do search for canam switches.. message him and he will build it.. I think it was like 25 bucks. You can also use two different switches
If you ever decide to sell the way it’s setup, please let me know . Asking for a soon to be retired military price stationed in GA. Been watching your videos for awhile and have always loved this unit the most !
If you don't mind me asking, where did you happen to get your Pedal Commander for your 2022 Lonestar as Pedal Commander's website only advises it fits a 2020. Is that just a typo? Thanks so much for your help.
Beautiful rig. I ordered the hd9 dps cab model. Heat and enclosed was my main priority . I have been looking for a few upgrades . It seems like accessories available for these machines are Only limited to your wallet. Lol
Did you ask dealer to move your winch to your bumper ? I Wonder if the winch plate at the bottom bolts right to bumper plate. Then should just have to buy fair lead. Thanks.
I'm on a wait list for a 2023 model. Confused on the last part of your video dealing with what you installed in the back of rear seat. Did you use two difference materials, one for heat and one for soundproofing or one that does both. Can you provide the name/part number of what you used? Thanks in advance.
Yes it was two products off Amazon.. I would recommend killmat or noico. I think I used noico on both. One was sound deadening and the other was thermal..
just got my 2023 Lone Star Max Cab - dealer is telling me there is currently no 39" LED light bar for the front roof that can be installed WITHOUT penetrating the roof????? They say issue is the audio in the roof and also b/c the windshield flips up???????
@@RockyRohde Thanks! May I ask if you purchased through brp or elsewhere? I personally think curved would be the way to go!!! Would love to brand and how you mounted it. Thank you.
How did you go about to get a License plate for your can am in Texas? I was informed that utv's can't be registered for a tag. I'm also a Texas resident
You can get a utv plate in Texas. State law is you can travel so many miles from where you are staying and under 35 mph streets only I think… Best to check with city and county as most don’t honor it..
Hey Rocky! Great vid. Great build! I've been on the phone with Rough Country trying to figure out the curved light bar and mount. They are indicating that they only offer the mount for the flat bar and that some are bending the months to fit but it's challenging the integrity of the mount and they've had some mounts reported broken. Thoughts? Did you bend the mounths to have to fit the curved? Is it the 50"? Jason
Hey Rock, Got my machine, door seals suck on the new door. Dealership just scratch their head on how to get to seal. At least yours look straight. Question; What exhaust extension are you running and where did you purchase! Its the little things. Thank you Sir! G
How did you get the sound system to stay on with key off? Also I like your whip lights where did you order them from & are they easy to wire in. Bad ass machine
Hey Rocky. We have the same model as you and are doing alot of the same things. I'm curious about the attachment of the CamLocker box. I've searched compression fittings and couldn't figure out what that was. Do you have a link to these or a picture so I can buy them. I saw the box doesn't come with mounting hardware so I want to make sure we get everything we need when we order it. Also, for your fender flares did you need to cut anything on them or were they an easy install? I see yours don't go all the way down to the rock slides toward the back of the cab so Im confused on which fender flares you have. They don't look like the Sport ones on Canams site but the back doesn't look like the regular OEM ones either.
Excellent videos. Very informative. Just ordered mine today. How bad do your boggers turf up your yard? I’m ocd on my yard stripes in the summer. Just curious. Thanks
Very Nice. Exactly how much lift is under it? I wasn't sure if the Springs were lift springs or not. Also, the A-arms are forward 2+ arms? The reason I ask, I have a 23 Defender Max Long Star Max Cab coming in a couple weeks and would like to run the same Tires or maybe 33" Boggers and would like to get it all coming. I believe the 23 models have Different A-Arms on them with 30" tires factory so not sure how much lift it would take if any. Thanks, I enjoy your Videos
With 33 and forward a arms you will be fine. I only added s3 springs to mine to clear 35’s. I recommend the super atv or s3 arms as they are 2” and you can use factory sway bar if you want.
@@RockyRohde I went with the 35s as well because the 33s were out of stock. The s3 springs are not lift springs Correct? Just HD to regain/prevent sag? Is a Clutch kit necessary or just better for just cruising around and maybe light trails? No mud or hardcore trails in my future.
Good morning, If you can, can you please post a list of all of the parts and the part numbers that you have installed with this video? I have this same unit on order right now. It won’t be delivered until December or January from Can-Am because of the supply issues that we are experiencing. In the meantime I’m doing my research on accessories that I like to personalize my unit like you have. If you have any other pointers, can you please share those as well? Thank you for your time, Mark Davis Sr.
Hey Rocky, Ordered my 2022.5 and it'll be here soon. Been trying to find the side view mirrors and the guy's at my CanAm dealership are clueless, could you please provide a part number to reference. If you didn't have so much great stuff on your Buggy we wouldn't bother you!! Thank you Sir! G-man
