Thanks for sharing! This is by far the best-looking (compact) SUV imo! I m considering buying it as well! The only serious worry I have, which most people seem to complain about online, is the jerky transmission and lag issues at lower and higher gears. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this. I didn't hear anything about that in this video!
@SnowBoarder&Skier again thanks...I have seen them and again I Like the X3. I know folks who have owned bmw's for years and swear by them. I Also know folks that have had the same experience you had...again I Like the X3.
18:44 one big thing to keep in mind with fuel economy versus the Q3's competition is the Q3 is the only vehicle in the subcompact crossover segment that doesn't require premium fuel. So, while it may not have the best fuel economy rating by a few MPG, it still has the lowest annual fuel cost.
Depends on how long you're driving the vehicle. If you're leasing it then feel free to use regular gas. But if you buy and keep it long term (8-12 years), using premium gas would save you the repair cost in the future. Any turbocharged vehicles should not use anything less than 91.
@@inkandwrist Except the manufacturer literally said regular not premium.....There are plenty of turbocharged vehicle not needed premium gas. Subaru's new 2.4L boxer, Honda 1.5L turbo, Kyundai/KIA 1.6L turbo all only need regular not premium.
@@inkandwrist It’s tuned for regular. Unless you live somewhere where you have extremely low quality fuel, or tune the car, there’s no basis for “premium is better”.
Agree. Hands down the Q3 is better looking than the normal Q5. The proportions are just right design wise front to back. Save for the shifter, I really like the interior layout of the Q3 over the Q5 as well.
I drove one of these, and it was pretty nice, but I found the engine noisy and unrefined. I have an ‘18 A4 that is the opposite of that, and it was especially striking when I got back in it. Love my A4 even more now 😄
It’s like the engineers purposely made it a little crappier just to remind you you’re in their entry level suv. So a salesman could point you towards a more expensive Q5.
Longtime audi owner. Multiple vehicles. $48k as shown. No way. I wouldn’t pay that for this vehicle. You can get into a Q5 for a couple thousand more. Have they fixed the stop start engine issues?
Hey guys, great review. One thing you miss on all the Audi Qs you have reviewed is the extra storage by the driver's left knee. Looks like a compartment for fuses, but it is storage. Size will vary based on the model. My husband's Audi A5 S-line also has it. Only way that I knew to look for it. Love that you keep up on the db levels. Looks like a busy season for you both, with all the new models coming out.
Yes, looks very similar to the storage compartment to the left of the steering wheel on my VW CC. Perfect place to store my work ID badge to get into the parking garage.
Love you guys..Your videos are awesome. Before I buy a car I literally check out your videos as part of my research process. Great video as always. Keep up the great work.😃👍🚗
@@CarConfections Love your review. I have a new 2021 Q3 and still finding new discoveries like holding the unlock fob button and all the windows and sun roof will open. Brenda P. (below) mentioned the little storage compartment on the left side by your knee. Big enough to hold my RayBan sunglasses. Everyone complains about the location of the volume knob but don't mention that there is a volume knob on the steering wheel. Hello! Your thumb is right on it. No looking down.
@@CarConfections Any idea why the sound reading was so high? I mean- even your Outback review was a 55- could it have been the 20 inch wheels or the road?
Does anyone else’s Q3 have a credit for/not have the Phone Box(wireless charging), and Blind Spot Detection? My mom is picking one up Monday and this is the case. Dealer said it was due to the chip shortage
Great review. I am looking at both the Q5 and Q3 2022 models and this review was amazing because I didn’t like the gray color used on the Q3 vs the Q5 at least how it looked on the computer screen. This actual review showed the color way more accurately and I really like it especially combined with the black optic package.
My 3 was in the shop for a few days and they allowed me the use of a Q5. Yes you have to refuel with premium unleaded, the engine is more torquey than my 3. I definitely wanted to ,”give it the beans” every bit of the way. Really glad to have my Q3 back from the shop.
Yes I gave this a thumbs up! I love this vehicle. I almost got one in 2016, but at that time the dash was a bit dated so I decided not to. However, now it is darn perfect. So if I was in the market I'd give it a go. Thanks for posting/sharing. Cheers!
Thanks for the review. I test drove a 2021 Q3, it's disappointing that they still haven't added memory seats (not even an option?). Unacceptable in 2022. Overall the '21 didn't excel in any category. It's German competition (tested the x1, gla/glb) all have a better drive (x1 had the best drive, gla/glb had the best interior). Even the cx5 drives better although I did prefer the q3's interior to the cx5. Cabin noise was louder than expected, suspension didn't particularly absorb bumps well and trunk space is pretty average. Easy pass.
Whew.. $48K fully loaded for a VW Golf-sized car. If this low vehicle inventory situation continues, Car Confections will need to expand into the eScooter, Moped, and Motorcycle review segment. The Smile Meter will be off the hook!!!!
Beautiful vehicle..............can you program it to turn off the fuel saver engine start/stop without pushing the button every time you start the car. The only thing I would change is I would get a black interior
Your airball comment regarding the lower fuel economy than the Q5 doesn't hold water. The Q3 runs on regular unleaded and the Q5 runs on premium so it is actually a better buy money wise to go for the Q3 to save money on the fill ups. Guys, please tell what a car runs on. It does make a difference and at time I have pushed a car off my want list due to it having to have premium.
Right on. I have a 2021 Q3 40 TFSI with just less than 400 miles on it. On a aprox. 70 mile round trip country rode jaunt today, I averaged 30.4 MPG. Not bad!
It's disappointing that there's no ventilated seats on a car of this caliber. My 2021 Mazda cx5 has both heated and ventilated seats with turbo and all wheel drive and cost much less.
@@thenotoriousjoey9956 Looked at that too, but it would have been at least 10k more and I don’t love the exterior or interior. I’ve had a brand new Audi TT 2003 and 2008. They were a lot of fun, but their SUVs need some work. Other than the Aston Martin DBX, the Santa Fe Limited was the only other SUV that had everything I wanted and made me 😍
See I love the q3 because of the design abs side but why does the Q5 just have a more luxe feel? If Audi could take the interior for the q5 and just put it into the body of the Q3 I’d be so content but now I’ve been back and forth 😩
@@thenotoriousjoey9956 I have a 2010 Audi R8 and the key is the same as my Q3 S-line. Not sure what you mean by that since Audi uses VW keys for basically all their cars. RS7 even has a VW CC with the only difference being the RS logo lol.
hello! do you know if the standard audi q3 2022 will have ONLY leather interior in Saudi Arabia? because i checked on the 2021 audi q3 and the standard only had fabric interior! i’m waiting for the 2022 but im afraid i’ll be disappointed.
I was test driving q3 today and the guy told me there is no blind spot detection or monitor for q3. they deducted price for that option but it's kinda bummer for me. 2022 model and there is nothing for blind spot detection while driving? :(
All you need to do is move mirrors outward a bit and you won’t have any blind spots… car can be next to you.. maybe slightly behind and you can still see it
Well the Audi is faster, and it will have a better resale value than the Tiguain. In the end of the day Audi is a luxury brand and the Q3 is the cheapest model they make
Really enjoy your videos. I find them mostly comprehensive. If I may offer 1 suggestion..a lot of the higher end car manufacturers have app suites for your smartphone that include stuff like remote start. Do you think you could add a segment related to that. This is one feature that I'm looking for as I shop for a new car. Thanks!
In the market for this size of luxury SUV. I like the styling of this better than the Mercedes GLA, but def like the console of the Mercedes better. This seems to drive better maybe? I'm not a car guy. What's the better choice? I've had a BMW before and not sure I want another but open to most options. Any advice would be great!
3:25 did anyone noticed the other Audi in the parking lot? it looks like err it belongs in the junkyard. front bumper gone. headlight busted. Tires flat.
While better looking than most Audis, the black lettering looks tacky. And it was utterly cheap and silly of Audi to eliminate silver as an exterior color!
Wow this looks really really great for a Q3 !! The 45 Tfsi premium I was looking at looks amazing and sounds amazing when reading it now it’s time for the in person view
The Front crash mitigation does not work (on my 2022 Audi Q3 with the Premium Plus Package including Pre-sense and Pre-sense Front crash and pedestrian mitigation). It does NOTHING to help you in the event of an upcoming crash! (Yes, I have it activated correctly.) I brought it back to the dealer and they said their "diagnostics" showed that everything was fine. After about 3 hours of arguing with the Salesman, the Service Manager, and the General Manager, their conclusion was that the Pre Sense and Pre Sense Front were only made to warn you and apply the brakes when you are A FEW INCHES away from whatever you are about to hit! The Subaru I traded in warned me at least 2 - 3 car lengths before and applied brakes at least 1 car length before. I set up rows of cheap Styrofoam ice chests in front of the car and tested the car at low speeds and higher speeds and my "warning" was a slight beep AFTER SMASHING THROUGH THE STYROFOAM (and the brakes never activated). Of course the dealer would not let me demonstrate this to them when I went back with the ice chests. I'm selling the POS and buying another Subaru.
Audi q3 premium plus 2022 i just bought this car, it has puddle lights and ambient lighting, it drives great, only this i would want is cooled seats, and wireless charging, and its perfect. I actually do mobile detailing out the truck and it fits. But now my back seats are jammed
I really wish OEMs would stop using piano black glossy trim, especially around the center display. It becomes a dust magnet moments after it is detailed.
Curious how the current 2022 BMW X1 can get 10 more cubic feet of interior space than this Q3, despite their exterior dimensions being exactly the same?
