Beautiful spec. I bought mine for the timeless looks, quality, speed and 5cyl sound. Plus it's rare in the US - Instant classic as you said. Perfect car if you don't have kids, or more than 1 friend. 😀

You are right. The timeless looks, the quality and the performance are hard to beat. The engine is especially addictive!

That’s a stunning version of the TT. 👍🏻

The way it made me feel being seen in it was second to none!! Talk about centre of attention wherever it went😄

@davidoliu

Exactly! Felt in love with it the first time I saw it on other RU-vid reviews. Just had to have it! My kids loved the attention from fellow learners and bragged about it whenever they could😂

If you're looking for something bigger then you could always try the RS3 or RSQ3... They also have the same 5 cylinder engine and can be specced in the Kyalami Green colour💚🤷‍♂️
@davidoliu
@davidoliu Год назад
Of course. RS3 was only launched around mid September and waiting list is 8-12 months. Test drove the car and although it was good, I wasn’t going to wait that long to replace the TTRS. RSQ3 ride is too harsh so never considered it

VR6 will forever be an icon for the VW group and I’m sure that the TTRS will go down as equally iconic in 10 years time 🎉

Who buys a sports car like this thinking that its good for small children?! C'mon man 👎
@davidoliu

Another one who missed the point of the video. I knew what it was when I bought it. My kids grew out of the leg room. End of the story.

@@davidoliulol you're mad because he's right. "Grew out of legroom" you forgot that kids grow? 😆

@@curtdragonnot mad at all but a little frustrated with people are missing the point of the video. Of course I knew the kids would grow up but like all enthusiasts, my heart took charge at the time of purchase. Once the ownership was experienced and logic set in, the obvious thing was to part with the amazing piece of engineering😢

I am thinking of getting a 2021 TTS for my next car how was your experience with it as a daily I know you touched on the subject but I was just wondering if there were any things you disliked about it as a daily other than the back seats?
@davidoliu
@davidoliu 4 месяца назад
It’s a sport car and has all the quirks of one, such as stiffer ride, small trunk, seating space etc however that all depends on your daily requirements . If I was single that probably wouldn’t even be noticeable. TT’s are probably the most practical of the lots in comparison. However, one thing that was cool but also troublesome was the single screen which becomes a real issue when you need to rely on the camera when reversing or if the steering is not left in the middle, obstructing the view to the screen.
@rnzler7881
@rnzler7881 4 месяца назад
@@davidoliu thanks for the reply. I am a senior in highschool so I don't really have a major concern about seating space. Did you ever do any road trips in it I was wondering how comfortable it was to drive for a long time or if the stiff ride got a little to uncomfortable. and did you find any other problems with haveing the screen be so limited or was it ok for daily use?
@davidoliu
@davidoliu 4 месяца назад
@@rnzler7881TT is by far one of the most comfortable sportcars for the long haul, if rear space is not an issue for you. Make sure you get one with the Magnetic ride and the suspension is very supple in the comfort setting. The single screen is not a problem once you learn to deal with it. Just know that it is a sport car and there are some quirks like all others. Honestly, if you can afford one at your age, get the TTRS, you won’t regret it

It’s the fifth car. We have a T6 and a SUV for transport duties, 2x MX-5 for the open roof fun etc. I just wanted a fun and fast car that the kids can enjoy too but they out grew the back seat faster than anticipated.

What was the visibility like? My hearing sucks sry
@davidoliu
@davidoliu Год назад
The visibility out was good front and back. C-pillar obscures blind spot a bit but side assist dealt with that. Seating position also had wide range of adjustment so never felt impaired in anyway. Still feel sad that I don’t have it anymore but grateful for the ownership experience.

It’s stock standard height. Perhaps it’s because the drive way slops slightly towards the front and the black side skirt gives the impression that it sits higher.

Poor research. Kids grow 😆😆😆 If you want something kids are going to enjoy you get a full size sports sedan. Not a coupe.
@davidoliu
@davidoliu 10 месяцев назад
Not at all. The car was purchased after thorough research& comparison etc and fully enjoyed it for 6months. However, didn’t know that the kids could grow 10cm in 6 months. So yes, poor research on the kids😂 For the record, I did get a sports sedan afterward but same fate. Check out my other videos…😅
