Love the quality of your new vids and how it activated my cravings by seeing those food in ameyoko. 😆 Take care always and stay safe while traveling! 😊
Today's vid was awesome. Thank you so much for sharing, the weather there is really nice. The melon panda pan looked really oishi. I really miss the Rion radio. Well, hope you have a great year. Arigaoo, gaoonbarimasu
I live in a country where 70% of the year is living in hell. Extreme heat where the AC can't even keep up with the high temperature. With that said, please don't ever wish for a hot weather Rion lol, you're literally in heaven.
I love this area and have been here many times. Ueno doesn't get as much love as it deserves. Definitely want to eat at that new bread shop when Japan opens up again.
Can wait until this pandemic is over so I can visit Japan again and try all the special food you have shown us. I have added the place in your videos as points of interest to tour. Love your videos and thank you for showing the beautiful Japan.
Rion, love your energy and attitude! I am in Florida on the Atlantic coast and it has been around 80 degrees (about 27C) for the past few days. You are right about Florida, because I want jacket weather and that won't happen for another few weeks. And then it only gets into the upper 50's (about 14 or 15 C).
I missed the premier again 😂 I didn’t get a notification from YT and I wasn’t able to check the Discord lately.. I’m sorry about that 😅 Anyway, I’m happy to see Ueno again. I have a lot of memories there that I’ll never forget 😊 and that Melon PANda looks yummy specially when you focused on the filling and the design reminds me of Tare Panda because of its lying face down position 😂 Also, the soba/udon on the poster really looks delicious! That would be perfect for the cold weather 👌 As always, thank you so much for your hard work to alleviate our loneliness since we can’t still (freely) travel to other countries. Take care always and have a safe travels going back to Osaka. God bless! 😊 🙏
I go to Ueno Ameyoko every time. This outdoor packed restau on a bench. This soup with tofu, green onions, and meat was so delicious ! Until I learnt 5 years later it was horse meat LOL !
I love your videos u are such a happy and positive person about everything. I will be coming to Japan in october this year to study japanese and you make me very motivated to go there
If I ever make it to Japan I'll probably never leave. Not cause Japan is so amazing. Cause after all the food I'll be over 2000lbs LMAO 🤣 I'll be the new Godzilla!
Really love those "short" clips as watching for 2 hours is way to hard especially when you have it runnin while on break or when there is not much to do at work. In Tokyo we had several udon and ramen for ~300Yen while in my country except for that 100Yen instand stuff you pay about 1200-2000Yen if you buy it in a restaurant ;( Oh also if you like bread you really need to go to Linde in Kichijoji ! German Bakery and actually a really good one (tried all the other German ones while on my working holliday as I missed good bread but Linde was by far the best and the closest to real German Bread)
Speaking of the beverage vending machines, here in Okinawa, the hot beverages are only available in the winter time. Summer time all drinks are cold. I believe this in done nation-wide here in Japan, but not sure. Happy new year everyone!
omg.. i went to there before pandemic in 2019. but i didnt get that way.. I've only seen a few souvenir shops. i wish i cloud go back again..^^ thanks for video..
Visited Japan maybe 20 times over the years mostly business trips. Hope to visit Japan soon again, on more personally leisurely pace, as soon as this crazy pandemic goes away! Love your videos!
My favorite type of Mexican sweet bread is one that looks like a pig and a turtle looking one. It's not too sweet but just enough sweet for my palate. I usually eat it with hot cocoa and my favorite cookie is from the asian supermarket it looks like a biscuit and it has a hint of coconut, so good with hot cocoa too or warm milk.
to Ameyoko street Look at that Tempura, Udon, Soba look delicious 😋 , the whole street has clothing stores, shoe stores and foods 🤩, very interested in this 志村商店 candy 🍬 1000 JPY can buy a variety of flavors ! Ameyoko Yokocho Market sells a lot of seafood. Watch Rion eat that cute Panda Melon Pan and Spicy Cod Roe bread delicious 😋, I 🇯🇵kare pan because 😋!!! this beautiful view 15:53-16:01. Tsuki No Matsu can see the temple from the circle so beautiful and creative👍👏! Yes, the night time at Ueno Park is beautiful 18:32🏙🤩:_Lovinit:. !!!
Is “polo” bun aka “pineapple” bun? I’ve tried both, and they are similar-sweet buns that have a harder shell on top while soft on the inside. However, I think the flavor is subtly different, and sometimes pineapple buns have a flaky top (depends on the version). The crispy top of melon pan may be sweeter as well.
Arigaooo, Rion, for this fun visit to Ueno park. Loved seeing all the food stores and I'm glad you enjoyed the Panda melon bread. It looked meccha oishi. I love Ueno Park, and I remember when you visited there during the summer. It was nice to see how different it looks in the winter. The red and gold leaves, the Tori gates and the sunset were all beautiful. I feel that I had a great getaway today, and it's very much appreciated. Loved the music, too. ⛩ 🎶
Really enjoyed this video. Was planning on going to Japan last year, now maybe this year (but who knows with covid) still it's great watching videos like this. Greetings from Australia
Oh, great to see Ueno, I didn't know there is so much to see and do. I would really like to taste the breads, they seemed tasty. 😊 I hope Japan will open soon so I can finally visit!
Ueno brings back great memories. I'm guessing you filmed this before the first snow? I especially love the end part you put in your videos, with the slowed down shots and calm music. Cheers Rion :)
Oh man. I stayed at Ueno the last time I went to Japan. I was near Inaricho station, but I never got to explore the Ameya Yokocho side of Ueno. I would love to visit that area again maybe next time I'm in Tokyo, hopefully when overseas travel opens up again.
Waaah urayamashii, the panda bread has melon custard inside. Last time when i tried melon pan for the first time it was no filling and no taste of melon at all 🤣🤣🤣 i guess it called melon pan only for the shape. Thank you Rion for showing us how Japan nowadays. I hope we can travel there soon safely. Stay healthy Rion 😊🙏
I think wakasaya in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles is closed a long time ago. The last time I had Udon was about a month ago. I ate at Meiji Seimen. The price range is from $9.25 for a bowl of kake udon to $16.75 for a Nabeyaki udon. They don’t carry seafood udon except shrimp tempura. It’s so attempting to eat at Wakasaya in Ueno just by looking at those menu. When can the pandemic be over? 😖
Well the french bread certainly looks like their typical sweet milkbread desert you can buy in a bakery, but savory or mayonaise sounds kinda odd to me. At least I have never noticed when buying sweet pieces in france bakerys (German myself)
Happy new year, Rion! I wonder if it snowed in Osaka just like in Tokyo. Do you know how to ski? Please take us skiing in Kobe! Also, I feel bad for the panda when you ate it but it looked delicious though. 😅
do Japanese eat a lot of spicy food? I can’t eat spicy food. How do you ask if the food is spicy? thanks for sharing. Always a joy to see your videos. Arigato!!
Thanks for your support! 🦁 "Karai" means spicy in japanese. You can ask ""Kore wa karai desu ka?" ("Is this spicy?")" before ordering, to be sure it will suit your taste 😉
Japan is probably the country with the least spicy food in Asia. In recent years, spicy food has become more common in Japan due to the influence of foreign cuisines, but historically, there was very little spicy food in Japan. And I have a lot of Japanese friends and almost half of them do not like spicy food. Probably because Japanese people have a very sensitive tongue and they don't like spicy food.
Hey Rion!! Yes @3:05 for us Aussie dollar it’s not cheap as Aussie dollars is never better than the yen bad for us Aussie good for the Americans!!!✌🏻 And @10:07 lots of locals used to drink and hang out there I remember shame they stop that enjoyment!!! 😕
