Update: I’ve now taken delivery of a ‘22 Equinox LT in Summit White with the Jet Black interior. It has the confidence/convenience, infotainment and advanced safety packages … loving it so far!!
I’ve rented Equinoxes. The 1.5L turbo has decent power. In my experience, that power came with a lot of noise when you pressed the gas. I don’t hear as much engine noise in this video, so I don’t know if Chevy has done anything to dampen the engine noise. I owned the CRV, and it also comes with a 1.5L turbo. The CRV felt a bit quicker, quieter, handled well, and is larger on the inside (especially in cargo capacity in the back). But the Equinox is much nicer to drive. I’ve actually enjoyed driving the Equinox when I rented it. I’ve never enjoyed driving any other SUV I’ve rented. (Strangely enough, I’ve also always enjoyed Chrysler minivans I’ve rented, surprisingly fun to drive). The Equinox also has a history of good reliability. But it’s an open question whether that will continue. As far as I remember, it used to be produced in GM’s CAMI plant in Ontario, which I think is one of their better factories. I believe it will now be produced in Mexico. Will this impact reliability? I don’t know, but it’s something to note.
Great review! As some have bashed the 1.5T for lack of power, it’s not a drag racer by any means, but it seems enough for day to day driving. I’d definitely upgrade to an Equinox any day over my Trax
I have the red 2022 Equinox PREMIER AWD with ALL the upgrades. Bose stereo, sunroof, side steps, infotainment center, self parking, 360 degree camera, and so much more. I have the 1.5 T and it’s enough power. Great pick-up. I would have detailed my car if I showed it on RU-vid.

I also really like the updated design! I think that the Equinox has the best driving dynamics in the segment but although these cloth seats are extremely comfortable, I still think the interiors in the Japanese competition are a little ahead. I’d definitely take a test drive and see which one works best for you thanks for the comment!!
Why is the bottom of the doors fitted with the plastic cladding (stone chips I assume)? Then why aren't they also put on the Malibu? It can get stone chips too!
Now that's how you make an ipad infotainment screen! Haha I love what they did with the front of it. Probably the best it's ever looked. Interior wise its functional but I think I would go for a higher trim level. Not sure when the next generation is expected to come out but I feel like it's starting to show it's age a little compared with its competition.
Thanks for the comment Scott! I also really like the Updated front end of the Equinox, but the interior does look a little dated compared to the competition. However even on this LT trim, the seats are extremely comfortable and supportive. All in all, I prefer the driving dynamics on the equinox compared to its competitors but the interiors are superior in the CR-V and Rav-4.
I have the LT that came with a few add on packages, which gave me the upgraded infotainment screen. The seats are really comfortable and the interior roomy, but I do feel like it’s a little boring inside coming from an Impala with leather prior. Mine came with the jet black trim which is even more plain than this video. I’m planning to customize the interior a little with full leatherette covers. Then I think it will go from nice to amazing and still cost less than the premier.
Anyone know if the new WIRELESS Apple Carplay and Android Auto work with -any- smartphone? I have a 2 yr old Samsung Android phone. Was wondering if the phone has to have a special feature...or is it just bluetooth that is required.
I have an iPhone SE and it works with mine through Bluetooth. You just have to plug it in with the usb the first time to set it up. Then Bluetooth from there. Not sure what the minimum phone specs are though.
Dear followers!! Don't let the beautiful pictures confuse you . Anyone who buys a new car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service, the company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help will come faster.
