I have been researching vehicles to step down from my Suburban for almost five years. Having said that, we had to take a break in our search to fight cancer and COVID. Whew…. Now, the search resumes. The Traverse was my favorite at the beginning, but I could not get past the outer design. As long as we hold onto our vehicles, I really wanted to like it… thoroughly. Now, Chevy has hit a home run with both the interior and exterior. My favorite has returned to be the Traverse. Also, I was truly impressed with the thoroughness of this review. I know there was a pause for sirens due to sound, but in my heart I saw it quite respectful. That is when I clicked subscribe.

The heated and ventilated seats are usually a $600 option or more as inflation creeps in. Oddly, it's only a $50 credit. Amazing at how small that credit is. I wonder if the infrastructure for the heated and cooled seats are installed? That could be the reason for the small credit if the components are intact. Either way, it sad America cannot produce its own chips.
@hellkitty1014
@hellkitty1014 2 года назад
Yes, all of the necessary parts are pre-installed on the vehicle now. The seats on this model already has the ventilation motors built in. But you're right: A $50 credit seems paltry, particularly when nobody knows when the chip shortage will end.

A Chevy's mission, by design from GM, was to be your FIRST car - an introduction to the GM family. Then as you get along in years, you graduate to Oldsmobile (RIP, now Buick), then to a Caddy. What Chevy still takes for granted is interior material quality is sub par to Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Mazda. Even Ford material quality is better then an equivalent Chevy. Chevy needs to step up their game and stop playing catch-up to the competition.

It's too bad Chevy, GM in general. But they are full steam going to EV's. I've been advocating to replace the 3.6 v6 with the 2 7t from the Silverado for a couple years. Similar power, but more beneficial torque. Which would help with the Traverse's weight. Adding that 4 cylinder to most, if not all of their CUV's would help with performance. Even in the Camaro, replacing both the v6 and the 2.0t with the 2.7t. It would make all Camaro models sub 5 secs to 60.

Second and the most important one is space. This vehicle offers the most space out of all three row vehicles in the market. It beats even Grand Highlander by a good margin. The cargo space behind third row is huge. Forget about the plastics and heads up display. Even with that 310+ hp the Traverse also gets good gas mileage. One last thing to point out is how cheap it is to maintain this suv. Any mechanic can fix it because it is a Chevy and parts are available everywhere in US. The production locations for this model has varied so much over the years. It's been moving around the country over and over. I can remember it being made in Spring Hill TN after the defunct Saturn run. I was 3rd party containment for this and a few other models of GM and seen first hand how these plants operate. I couldnt believe that the workers would purposely drop and or damage power trains in order to have to work overtime to make up production numbers. That's what constitutes a domestic. That's why divisions have discontinued.

At that price point hard touch plastic should not be on anything you touch regularly. Plus why do they choose to put a push start in the base model, and not have safety tech as standard instead. Great review by the way, got any eyes on Kia’s/Hyundai’s?

It definitely looks better than the Kia Telluride to me which had a mosh pit of styling that doesn’t look cohesive. This is about as nice as the Toyota Highlander which I feel is just as premium looking, uniquely styled, and a really durable/well put together feeling cabin. I love Chevy’s tech over the competition too. The camera quality, angles, infotainment system software, etc. it’s just better than what Kia, Hyundai, Mazda, Honda, and many others are doing.

Happy with my 2019. Not one single issue with it. Just I wished for fog lights. Oddly I thought I just heard they don't do them no more. Well either way, more light is so needed. interior looks exact same. Very little is different. Not sure my trim model. Grey with black wheels and mirrors. LT? Oh always wish it had electric seats. it's basic pretty much.

I have a 2019 Traverse LT Cloth which overlaps in many ways with the 2022 you show here. My Traverse, however, has a USB port in the hidden storage area behind the infotainment screen. In your video it looked like there wasn't one in there now, but I couldn't tell for sure because it wasn't well-lit. Do you remember if there was one in there?

Jesus. My 21 palisade limited has more crap than this and it was 48k. Also, charging 1200 for destination and giving only 50 off for the lack of heated and ventilated seats is a slap in the face

In terms of interior space, none in the class can touch the Traverse. But that's about it. It is such a pity that GM(and Ford with the Explorer) still believe its the 80s/90s and can produce subpar interiors but charge prices >than the class avg. One look at this and it is easy to see why the Hyundai/Kia twins are in such high demand. The visible plastic molding lines, hard touch plastics, the sheen on the plastics, and over interior design leads to pretty poor perception of quality.

I agree with you. I’m a Chevy owner myself and I am pretty unimpressed with interior quality and luxury. It’s way to basic and too much plastic. The Asian manufacturers make beautiful interiors.

Fast forward a few years and see what the Highlander resale value is vs the Traverse. Also be weary of that engine and transmission. A transmission failure of our 2016 Traverse is what pushed us to Toyota.

The outside refresh is ehh. Interior is ehh. I’d still prefer the Kia or Toyota over this. This screams practical and basic. The Kia telluride and Toyota Highlander give more premium and executive vibes in my opinion.

As much as I love the traverse one glaring omission is a fact there’s no anti-golf cart button some people call it the start stop I drove one yesterday along with a grand Cherokee L and the traverse at the stop sign shut off so I guess the grand Cherokee L is my only choice

Sorry, but this just does not impress me. Over the years, I have moved from brand to brand. Dad was a GM guy, and so my first new car was a '77 Oldsmobile (yes, I'm old). When son was born, did the Chrysler minivan thing. Now, we both drive Fords. After looking at everything out there in three-row SUVs, like a lot of people, we are leaning towards the Telluride. The interior is nicer than what you are showing, minus the power rear seats. Better powertrain warranty, and better initial warranty as well. Built in Georgia. The Traverse just does not get me excited. Sorry.
