I have several acc rods, and prefer the 8 and 10 foot mid reel seat cork handle. I use heavy rubber coated twist ties on the 10 foot and over rods so I don’t have to cut and re-tie lures or hooks, to separate for traveling…. Merry Christmas!🎄
Brent, i enjoyed your equipment video. I will need to add to my fishing equipment Have you every crappie fish Lake Talquin, west of Tallahassee. They have some nice crappie because of the years of 10" size limit. Thanks.
Brother if you will add an actual reel weighing around 5.5 to 6 oz to those jig rods they will actually balance much better without the hand pain from the weight forward lack of balance. I use the 12ft acc crossover alot when crappie are shallow. I balanced it with an 8 oz fly reel. Center balance is about 8 inches in front of reel so it can he held all day without much fatigue. Take care
I have ACC rods, also B n M Sam Heaton, and also a plain old B n M ulta light, all in 10’ length. I actually like the B n M ultra lite the best due to weight. But frankly for just jigging the weed beds or edges, a telescopic rod like the B n M Black Widow is even lighter and the fish wont care a bit. Next time you stop at Fast Break tackle shop pick up a couple.
I’ve tried and tried to come up the dehooker you guys use on the Internet with no luck. I seen one of your videos were you said it was made by one of your family members I believe. Is there anyway to purchase one?Thank you sir
New to crappie fishing - a bait caster reel is fished on top, spinning reel on the bottom. But what about crappie reels? I realize they are not for casting but for jigging .. .
Welcome to the addicting hobby of crappie fishing! When it comes to this kind of fishing, there's no right or wrong way to orient the reel you're using. I've used small panfish reels on jigging poles in a baitcaster-style (reel on top) as well as on the bottom. Since you're just getting into it, I'd suggest trying out both styles and see what's most comfortable to you. I mostly use reel on the bottom on all my jigging rods now, personally. I think both styles have their own unique feel and advantages, though.
In the video you see them spraying, within about a week the grass will be dead or dying, and for sure it will change the fishing. And they dont always pay contractors, Saint Johns water have their own air boats and employees.
