Thanks for the video. My battery just went bad on me. Hoping a recharge will take care of it. Will connect a tender connector to it in hopes of never having to fiddle with the cowlings when recharging. BTW, it’s pronounced Dee-A-Vol.
Ya I'm not sure why this bike seems to come with a weak battery. You would think that for what you pay for a bike like this it would last at least get 4 to 5 years out of it. PS Dee- A- Vol ,I will remember that, thanks for the heads up.
The physical size of the battery has very little to do with the capacity of the battery. There are smaller batteries that offer more CCA than the one you picked. The rubber isolator is to isolate the battery from excessive vibrations. Better to compare physical size and CCA BEFORE buying and installing the new battery.
Great video. I am currently exploring the diavel and it seems like the location of the battery is unconventional. Question: wouldn it affect your battery when u ride under the road or sent it for a bike wash? - since it’s exposed to the water as compared to those battery that sits under the seat Thank you
I believe it would not du to the seat covering it. As for if it would effect the battery as long as the bike is turned on running it should not, but if u turn it off and just leave it in the on position it can drain the battery. If it is off completely the it should not drain either. I hope that answered your question
If you want to clean your bike I would recommend using a cleaning microfiber cloth and some bike shine you can get from the dealer or trusted brand like turtle wax from the store. I have seen older bikes being sent to the pressure wash and I do have to say that having the battery under the seat would protect it better then off to the side exposed. PS Glad you liked it.
The battery is out of the engine heat in the Diavel as opposed to sitting in the heat when the battery is above the engine. As far as water, the battery is sealed and as long as you don't crash and crack it, water won't affect it. I have a 2022 Diavel, no issues with the battery location. Buy one, these are a hoot to ride; 158 HP and tons of torque. I love blowing away Harleys at the stoplights. In 3-4 seconds they are just a dot in my mirrors.
Dude, there's no reason you should have to jankify your bike and use zip ties. Use the correct OEM battery and everything will be fine. I would NOT recommend doing what you did unless the situation warranted as such. Brand new Ducatis don't come with extra zip ties in the tool bag for a reason. C'mon man...
