A first ride and review of the 2022 Ducati Streetfighter V2, is it a comfortable Panigale V2?
The Streetfighter V2 is a middle weight naked sports bike, it is based heavily on the 2022 Panigale V2, with the same engine and suspension components. However it is focused more towards being a comfortable motorcycle for road use, but that can also be used for track days. A beautiful looking Italian sports bike, with a premium feel, it is more expensive than its competition, the Triumph Street Triple RS and KTM 890 Duke R.
All the fun and performance of the Panigale V2 but with aggressive sports bike looks and focused for road use.

That bike definitely has some mods on it haha. Nice looking bike, that dash does look to vibrate a lot though

👍 yup they have specced it very nicely!! Exactly how I would have mine, and an aftermarket pipe 😁 Yup the dash smoothes out at higher rpm, just quite shaky lower down revs!

👍 Absolutely that would be a very nice garage indeed! Very true the engine are very different, to me the Streetfighter feels a fair bit faster! Although the Multi V2S is a great package for useable power in an adventure bike. Cheers

I won't be getting rid of my Speed Triple 1050RS for this. Love the triple engine, Ohlins suspension and Brembo brakes. The KTM Duke 890 R is an awesome bike. It's a bit cheaper and I think lighter than this Ducati but still rapid.

Hi Alex, I don't blame you to be honest! This Ducati is really good, however personally I think I would prefer a triple engine as well. Just personal opinion. Yes I am trying to schedule a ride in on the KTM 890 Duke R!! Have a feeling I might quite like it 😁 I like the Ducati twins, but there is just something with them that I personally don't get on with (think it's the vibes/to aggressive). Brilliant bikes though, very well built and a premium feel.

@@redangrevival Yes I think you've summed it up well. I can't get on with bikes that have vibes. I don't mean character such as say the KTM twins have in spades, but I mean real genuine vibes through the bars, pegs or seat. For me BMW is guilty of making bikes with vibes eg the S1000R which I loved but when I actually rode a 2019 bike with about 800 miles on it, I had to stop and get off after 20 minutes the vibes were so bad through the bars and pegs. I heard the S1000XR was even worse!!!! I ride Hondas and Triumphs and none of them suffer from buzz or vibes through the pegs or bars. I don't recall the Speedmaster having buzzy bars or pegs. Yes it does get a bit ragged when you open the throttle at higher speeds 70+ mph, but tbh it is not a super naked, sports bike or sport touring bike so you can forgive it. I have had nice Italian cars in years gone by and yes they have been good, I guess much like their motorcycle brothers, but ownership is not straight forward. There are always glaring faults or compromises you have to put up with to enjoy the good which when it is good is very good. Like naughty kids you love, they are the apple of your eye but you forgive them until they break your heart and your wallet. Some years ago I owned a Lancia Delta Integrale Evo and it was a fantastic car, but ownership was a labour of love as although the design was good and brilliant to drive, the build quality ie the propensity for them to rust particularly in load critical areas was a nightmare. It cost a fortune to run and nearly broke me in servicing costs. Was it really any more fun to drive than my current cars? No not really. It's just the image people get wrapped up and caught in. So I wouldn't own another Italian car nor buy an Italian bike. Supermodels maybe nice to drool over but would your really want to live with one day to day? Too high maintenance. Maybe, maybe not. Having said this your Speedmaster is still gorgeous and a keeper. ATB Angus. The weather is set fair for the next 10 days. Lots of riding to do.

@@alexmorgan3435 👌Yup it isn that old cliche, Italian flair but unreliable. I must say I think Ducati's nowadays are quality built and seemingly very reliable! (compared to how they used to be) 🤔 hmmm would I want to live with a super model!! Will have to think on that one haha I am currently looking into replacing the cam on "Speedy", should make the higher rev range nicer, but hopefully not loose too much torque down low. Cheers, it was a belter of a day today, had a great ride. Same to you, all the best.

@@redangrevival Yes they do seem to be more reliable these days, but still high maintenance. And their engines run really hot so you get rather roasted. A new cam will make your Speedy more lively. There's a guy in the US who has put a TecBike cam in his Thruxton R and it has increased the power to 101hp and 80ftlbs torque. Also had a DNK tune/remap. Hi Red. I’m a very proud owner of a triumph speed triple 1050 RS, four years now. It’s the most complete bike for me. I’m guessing your going to struggle to find one to test! So your free to have a ride on mine! One should experience this awesome “real road” roadster at least once! 👍🏻

Nicely colour cordinated! I would still rather wrestle (weight wise)with the Speedmaster I have recently ordered an extention mud flap for the front mud guard.. little more protection for the engine! Did you make it to the Bike Shed Show at Tobacco Dock? Good video! Cheers Angus

Hi, I would definitely advise not to buy this as your first motorcycle!! Of course it is up to you, but I would say this is WAY to powerful for a first bike!! I would go for the Scrambler 👍

Not so I am afraid! The V2S is A LOT faster than the Multi V2S! Much more of a serious sports riding machine. Both great bikes in there own right though 👍

It seems your camera is having quality issues when going over 60? 🤔Kidding aside, I would suggest the BMW S1000R as a competitor. Although it has 4 cyl, it's power figure is close.

The phrase "you don't need more than 150 hp on the road" in motorcycle test videos is completely a nonsense. The Fireblade SC82 has 217 hp and is not good for the road because it has too little power. Precisely in the areas that are important for the road. The SC82 is designed for the race track. Hence the high maximum power at high rpm. Apart from this high maximum power, it actually has less power in the other rpm ranges than the 192 hp SC77. That means purely in terms of performance, the SC77 is the better motorcycle for the road than the SC82. When a tester says you don't need more power on the road, I immediately think the tester doesn't have a clue about the topic. The maximum power of a motorcycle is an output that is only available at a certain point of the engine rpm. Even the 217 hp SC82 only has 40 hp at 3,000 rpm. The big question of whether the motorcycle has enough power for the road is only answered when you look at how much torque the motorcycle has from which rpm and how the torque curve develops over the rpm range. And this is best measured at the rear wheel, because the transmission and the gearbox also play a part. For example, the BMW F900R with 105 hp has enough power for the road. At least in a speed range between 60 and 120 km/h. The engine's low maximum output is compensated by a low gear ratio. As a result, the F900R can only reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h. But in the speed range relevant for the road (between 60 and 120 km/h), the F900R can easily keep up with an Aprilia Tuono V4.

@@redangrevival Thanks for your feedback! You don't have to explain it in such detail in every video. Only the question "Is X hp enough for the road?" should be avoided, because the question is simply wrong. It is more important to tell the viewer how much power the engine has in low, medium and high revs. Therefore, the motorcycle is more suitable for small roads, large roads or the racetrack.
