The 2022 Exmark Vertex is the new stand on mower coming out soon. I got a chance to discuss the details about the new stander mower with Mike, who is one of the product engineers. Mike discussed what is new and improved with this model over previous models. There seems to be a lot of emphasis placed on serviceability, performance on hills, and rider comfort. Of course the quality of cut is a focus as well. Here the details and let me know what you think in the comments.

Heard about the new stand on. Was anxious to see it. Awesome looking mower. Glad they went back to the Vantage design. Definitely will be looking into purchasing a new machine. Thank for being there Jason! Great video!

Wrights patent was up this was marketed to me as a wright stander with a exmark deck which sound cool but seeing it I kinda prefer the grandstand or the ferris zs

My dealer is a big ex mark guy. Sells wrights but pushes ex mark hard. Before these dropped I was in the market. He told me “just wait and get the ex mark it’s identical to the stander x”…I looked at him laughed and said why would I get a copy when the original is right there and is proven And that’s exactly what it is. Not saying it’s a bad machine but basically they painted it red.

Everybody wants more horse power.. Until Gas hit $4.00 😂. I just bought a 48". Picking it up later this week. I went to Wrights when exmark brought out the Staris. I'm happy to be back on exmark red.

Lowered the speed, lowered fuel capacity, not centering the fuel tank or atleast running tanks on both sides to equal center weights is not going to help with hills. The Staris was considerably better on hills than the vantage. Having that hood on the Staris and motor back made it better to get under stuff and using that hood to stand on to trim tall shrubs like a movable step stool is freaking awesome. Why put a oil filter directly above cooling fans? Lol I personally think y'all went backwards on this at first look with my 25yrs in the industry. I've been using Exmark for almost 20yrs. I won't neglect to get on this new model to form a better opinion.....but I think y'all should had focused on whatever issues you must of had on the Staris. I have 1200hrs on my oldest Staris and the only problem I had was y'all's attempt at aluminum pulleys. I've been on a lot of mowers and I've never liked one as much as the Staris.....and the Staris on hills is untouchable when we are speaking on the 48+ in models. The 36 is garbage on hills compared to the garage.....which after much testing....I learned it wasn't as bad going one direction as the other....which tells me it's that single sided gas tank. Even using your body weight to the high side to get better grip.....still sucks compared to the vantage....when on topic of the smaller stand ons. I really wish Exmark would contact ppl like myself when creating new designs. Even just to spit ball things back and forth. If you do this already.....maybe you should look into getting better opinions. Lol PS average mow speed is not 5mph. If you are calculating this speed with zt included on .5acre lots and smaller.....ok. but a properly maintained machine on a properly maintained yard.....your pedal to the metal every straight away.....even if it's 30ft. Reducing speed 20% in straight aways may only hurt total productivity 5% on a quarter acre lot.....but we are playing a min game here. Every second counts. 5% could mean a hour a week. A hour a week could mean $200+ a week loss easily and that's taking 20% window time and zt into effect. Minutes mater. But again....I've loved y'all's mowers for 20 years. I won't completely reserve my current opinion as I haven't used this new model yet.....but I'll say this.... productivity noticably went up with the Staris from the Vantage. We kept our vantages as backups and noticed productivity go down when we had to use the backup Vantages.......being out of warranty....I ended up juicing some things up a bit on the vantages to tighten the productivity gap....I won't go into detail here about how I did that.....but it worked and the vantages have handled it well....but we do take good care of them. I was looking to dump the vantages in 2022 and put our Staris on backup.....but man...I feel like I'm going to need to just find some new Staris in old stock somewhere. I also speak with some of the supers for Brightview often about the engineering of machines.....that was part of why I jumped on Staris the day it hit the floor. I'd really like to know why you reduced speed, added fan even to keep hydros cooler. I run my vantages at 9mph. Yes 9. Been doing it for hundreds of hours. If them smaller old pumps handle it....I'm sure the updated cooled bigger pumps have it in them....unless you cheaped out on the pumps....which I haven't got much details on yet. Also.....I'm glad y'all haven't got into this HP war like some other companies. I understand there is a need for high HP when doing heavy work like roadside or once a month services.......but for weekly service....nobody needs a 40hp mower. Lol My vantage will out cut your big block any day on a properly maintained lawn. I'd rather be 200lbs lighter on my manicured lawns.

I’ve owned a Staris and JD Wright clone. The only thing wrong with the Staris was the damn controls were at a normal persons knees and the thing just didn’t cut right. Other then that it would have been perfect, so smooth and fast.

8 mph top speed is a big deterrent. Getting back to my trailer as quickly as possible is key to me making time for more work. That's 1 of the advantages to a stand on right. I own a TT 36 when my current 50 ZT gives out I wanted a 52" rad x because it went 10 where lazer e goes 8. I'm looking at a grandstand 52 now because it's way better on my back. I also feel exmark is a bit to pricey but it is very dependable. I need to investigate ease of routine maintenence on. My TT is so easy to work on. Exmark, toro and kubota are all sold very close to me. Exmark is literally 1 mi away. Gravely a bit further. Xrk makes such a good deck that's 1 reason I want to stay with them. That and reliability. I know Toro owns Exmark but x builds there own decks. The rest is very similar.

Why don’t they use there exmark engine 🤔 have one of there sit down zt mowers that had one… maybe someone else makes it for them? Think I’ll go with the Bradley, 4-5 THOUSAND cheaper

Also though I’ll never buy Exmark again, the Staris had terrible customer support. They tried to blame QOC issue on me, it was clearly the machine. They gave me a Skag Vride 2 as a loaner, lmao that thing cut awesome and I sent them pictures of the same yard cut with both machines. I’ve owned 2 JD qtracs, walker, 3 exmarks. The Skag Vride2 was way better machine than the Staris.

It is just strange that the Starris and this one are a complete departure from the post- 2015 Toro Grandstand . I would have thought Toro and Exmark would have had sister machines .

Why didn't they think of this before coming out with the Staris no body liked the look so they went back to the Vantage. Everyone will swop out the Staris they bought for the Vertex.

I was hoping that this would be what Toro will eventually release as a new generation of grandstand. This machine is a letdown to me. I've been happy with my 60" Grandstand but have wanted wider tires like on a Ferris Z3X since they came out. This design has a lot to be desired and I hope that Toro doesn't follow suit.
