One of the best things about tacticalbassin buyers guides is I can trust that they are being 100% transparent. And I never need to question if they're just pushing products because they were paid to do so, so thank you guys!
I'm super excited for the shimano baits and the ExprideB. The price of the ExprideB is the same across the board for all the models, which I like rather than paying a extra $50 just for a longer rod in most other models.
I wish I even knew what the expired A was like. The demand is way high and supply way short. I have 1 on order for a while and don’t expect it anytime soon. Waiting a year for a rod makes you forget you’re waiting on it. I went with rods I could get until I found some I really like. I’d love to have a Shimano rod but just can’t do the waiting game. Great video breaking down the new baits and gear. Thanks for showing the new product.
Hey Tim, the blanks seem way different in action for the Expride B’s. For example the 6’10 M now has a slower mod-fast action. And lure weights seem different too. Any reason?
I'm not sure why they made the action correction on paper, in reality the action is IDENTICAL. That's why we worked so hard to get hands on a 6'10" Medium, that was our biggest concern in the entire line.
I’m so glad I got the Shimano World Minnow and Diver in my favorite colors and I have the Exprides ordered, and I have used the Poison Adrena for a few years and I knew it would be Aces on the Expride. I even bought the new Curado rod with Monocouq handle… 👍👍👍👍
I’m curious about that new Bantam. But those new Exprides look nice. I thought about getting a 6’10” M but keep gravitating to a Poison Adrena 6’10” M at my local tackle shop. That thing is super crisp feeling
Hey Tim… enjoyed the video… I had been thinking of a new spinning rod.. Matt did a video about the the all around rods and he recommended the 6:10 med light Expride… would you recommend the 7:2 med light for an all around or stay with the 6:10 med light… thanks again…
Lookin at the expride a vs the expride b. The 6’10” medium a says it’s a fast action and the expride b says it’s a moderate fast. Can you tell much difference there between the two??
We've confirmed (not with our own hands but with those we trust) there is ZERO change to the 7'3" XH. The only change we're aware of is a slight action change in the 7'6" Heavy. 7'11" XH is a BEAST, I hope it's identical 👍🏼
@@tacticalbassin I have the 73XH, 711XH and the 72H on pre-order. I cannot wait to get that email that they're on the way! I really hope that 711XH is still on point. I rely on it heavily here in FL to get the big ones out of the slop.
I ordered the 7” Medium Expride. Do you think this will be good for senkos? What else will it be good at? Will it be light as a feather and sensitive, and good enough to catch some big bass?
Great video as always. Personally I prefer the location of the hook keepers on the slx rods. Never been a fan of the ones below the reel but I guess it's personal preference.
@@heavenshound6775 The slx rods have the hook keeper on the bottom side of the rod forward of the reel. That's where I like mine to be because the way I store them in my suv, I have to grab them by the handle to unhook each rod. Like I said it's all personal preference.
It’s January, the lakes are froze over and my bank account is already taking a hit on fishing gear… excited to try out the World Divers and about to punch a ticket on an Expride B 7’2” ML to pair with a JDM Metanium MGL for some BFS action.
Quick question on Expride: I’m a kayaker and like sub-7’ rods. Have my eye on the 6’ 10” MH as an all-arounder (smaller jigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, T-rigs, etc). But I really like softer tips for accurate casting around docks and skipping overhangs. Does the shorter-length Exprides still retain a soft-enough tip for those applications? Even light frogging? Thanks!
I got a few of the Expride A’s last year and love em… the 6’10” medium I have slings everything from Neds to heavier jerkbaits. The 7’2” MH is a stout rod that I use a lot for jigs. Both have fast tips, not quite the softness it sounds your looking for. Honestly the 6’10” medium would probably work the best. All of them are sensitive. Myself, really looking hard at that 7’2” ML for some bfs/shakey head/ned action. Either that or another 6’10” M just because it’s such a versatile rod. Need one just for jerkbaits.
So as per your recommendations i’ve got 2 metaniums (1 shallow spool) and 3 exprides b’s on order. I ordered exprides in 6’10” med, a 7’2” mh, and the 7’3” xh. i took your advice from the spring buyers guide an am doing the whole expride line. my question is you rave about the 6’10” med. and the expride a’s 6’10” medium moderate is a glass rod. The one you like is the glass rod correct not the 6’10” medium moderate fast? I think i ordered the wrong one… o well lol.
Have you guys played around with the new JSJ Handpoured hitch 6? If so what is the difference to the original besides being 30$ cheaper. Any input would be great
Thats a JDM specific reel, as far as I know its not headed to the US. I own the previous version (it's great) but we don't encourage anglers to buy JDM reels in general because it's very difficult to source parts and service for them. US reels are supported across the US market and for the average angler that's a much smarter bet.
The changes the 7’3 extra heavy to a mod fast..is it similar to lasts years model? Did they make the 7’2 heavy stiffer so you can throw frogs on it because I like that length better. Why did they do these things. Any input you guys could give I would appreciate it.
We haven't put hands on the 7'3" XH yet but we'll get a solid answer. However, comparing on Shimano's site... the specs didn't change at all and feeling the 6'10" Medium, there were no action changes. They called the last 7'3" XH a mod fast as well 🤷🏼♂️ So hopefully its still dialed. Tim and I both ordered them already 😂 As for the 7'2" Heavy, I wouldn't expect any changes there, it was a very popular model.
Tim, I’ve been waiting to buy the 6’10” expride a for months now. I noticed that the Expride B model is a moderate fast and the A is a fast. Did you notice a difference, or was A more of a moderate fast action and they changed it accordingly for the B. Thanks, you guys are awesome!
I'm not sure why they made the action correction on paper, in reality the action is IDENTICAL. That's why we worked so hard to get hands on a 6'10" Medium, that was our biggest concern in the entire line.
Thank you so much for the quick response, Pre-ordering now. And once again, thanks to you and Matt for all the great info/tips. You guys do great work.
I’m looking for a good jig rod. Do you think the 7’2” heavy would be a good jig rod? I was thinking about the MB P5 X-Bites. How do you think the expride fairs against the P5?
The Expride 72H is a lot better jig rod than the Xbites! It has a much faster tip and more backbone. I sold the Xbites immediately after buying it because it's more of an all purpose moderate action medium heavy. The sensitivity on the Expride was better too.
Hey Man, i always watch your videos, like it a lot but all the lures you use and show (hardbaits, crankbait,...), are not available in germany! There is also no US shop who's shipping to my country, to germany... I really want to fish with the lures you show but, what should i do? Did you got any idea? I hope you can read it and know what i mean... 🤦🤣👊
@@Chasingbluefishing Thank you... but the things i've been looking for are also not available in that shop (berkley stunna, berkley frittside, lures from Megabass,... ). Doesn't matter, waiting and searching... 👊
Love Matt Allen but Tim Little is absolutely carrying this channel on his back right now while Matt is taking care of his little baby. Congrats by the way to Matt.
I was considering getting a 7’3” XH Expride for frogs. But now that the new model is listed as a 7’3” XH Mod/Fast instead of the fast I’m hesitant. Is the new 7’3” XH Expride B still a true frog rod?
Yes, ignore that. That's not new (Shimano website always had that rating) they just updated it on TW. We've been reassured by people we trust the action is identical.
What Shimano reel will balance well with a Expride B 6’8” M spinning. I have 21 Exsence. Seems a tad tip heavy. Undecided between a Exsence Ci4+ and 20 Twinpower. Either would be in a C3000mhg. Thanks.
@TacticalBassin Another awesome video. But have you guys ever thought about adding chapters to your videos. Because most the time when your showing products or talking about products. There is a lot of things and products, that don't do me any good in my neck of the woods. So it would be great to just click on the section I need to watch. Without skimming through video trying to find where to go.
@tacticalbassin what are your thoughts on Shimano Twin Power XD vs Daiwa Certate?Don’t want to spend excsense,Stella, or exist money but want a sweet reel.
I know this video is a month old or better but I have a question if anyone could give me some advice. I want to buy an all purpose spinning rod and specifically want to get an Expride. I love to throw DT 4s and other square bill cranks as well as small to medium sized spinner baits and soft plastics such as 3" Nikko Craws and Hellgrammites as well as some ZMan soft plastics. My question is would a 7ft. Medium or a 7'2" Medium Heavy be my best option as an all purpose rod? I'm going to get a Shimano Vanford 2500 or 3000 to pair with it. Any insights or suggestions would be much appreciated. God bless.
@@tacticalbassin My Poison Adrena has some, and I'm quite careful with it. A friend has 2 Zodias' that are scratched up quite a bit. Either way, I need some of these, I love my current Expride's so these are a must.
During the start of Covid I was forced to throw the Googan Bandito bug because it was literally the only creature bait on the shelves. Honestly mind blowing it out perform the rage bug at least 7 to 1 me this past year.
I live my Expride but I really don’t think it’s as sensitive as you guys make it out to be yea that’s something I hate no hook keeper on my 260 dollar fishing pole for 220 you could have an Avid X and I feel it’s the same rod with a hook keeper and now almost 100 cheaper . Change the handle add a foot of that protection coating that I feel stiffen’s the rod loosing sensitivity , good luck people Tactical Sales men at it again
