I bought the ADV 160. And this is why. As a certified master technician, suspension and performance being my specialty, this is the only small cc scooter that is safe to use in stock form. All others need upgrades on day one. So considering the price, this makes it more affordable. Plus the disc brakes on both ends. And being 6 foot tall the handle bars don't hit my knees. It does need a taller windshield and a better seat. It handles very good. That alone is a life saver.
Sold my 2021 PCX 150 last year, only had 900 miles on it. I got what I paid for it, First person who came to see it handed me the cash, no questions asked. Now, I'm wanting this ADV 150!
Absolutely the best and balanced review that I have seen on this bike! I have been riding mine for about 8 months now with a little over 2500 miles on it, and I definitely have enjoyed every moment of it! As a commuter, it fills the bill perfectly for just running across town. I do take a short jaunt on the interstate, but at 65mph in the right hand lane, I do just fine. As a weekend tour bike, it is very fun and nimble, however I need to take a butt break about once per hour also. This was my first bike of any kind and I have to say I definitely got the moto bug, but even if I get a larger motorcycle, I still want to keep my ADV150 in the garage!
My only gripe so far is the seat. Im saving for a Corbin seat as they are expensive, and hope that fixes my issue. Im 6' 185 and the stock seat has me a little to forward. As far as bikes abilities 2021 ADV 150. The fuel mileage is impressive, the roads I use it on are all 50MPH, and its super reliable. It is good looking too. Fits my bill. I need a trailer for it thats just as simple and easy as the bike. Your videos are great, and full of all the pertinent information. Good job!
I just did 5 hours across Thailand on my 160. seat is good for me. I like that it has a spring to help lift it. The headlights are the best I've seen on a scootie. Having to turn it off to open the seat or fuel is stupid. As specially if you have the trip timer running because it is cancelled out when it's turned off. The captain America edition here in Thailand looks awesome too.
Seat Concepts changed my Yamaha xt250 from a 1/2 hour then sore a$$ and back, to a comfortable ride for a couple hours. Who knew a seat could make such a difference. They don't make anything for this scooter yet though.
I have a 2022 Honda ADV 150 I bought in 2021. Currently with about 3,000 miles it’s in the shop waiting for repairs. I average about 108 mpg so far . This is my first Honda that has ever let me down and won’t start. I’m pretty sure it’s a fuel delivery system issue since it is getting spark. My first key fob and fuel injection scooter I’ve ever owned. 🤔
It’s expensive but still under the Suzuki Bergman 200 and Yamaha scooters. The usual Honda seat softens up after a few thousand miles. Honda’s XR150L was a nicely priced for a change. What new bike did you get?
So torn between this and a royal enfield himalayan. Which I know seems like a weird set of bikes to compare but that’s where I’m at. I just wish we got the ADV 350 here
100% Agreed, the 350 model makes more sense for the American market. As for comparing the 150 to the RE, I'd say do an honest assessment of what you're going to use it for. If you see yourself motocamping every available weekend and doing lone exploring trips on rough roads the RE might be better. In contrast, if you're mostly commuting. Running errands and doing fewer big adventures, the scoot may make more sense for you.
That's what I did! I have a Burgman 400 and I just picked up a 2023 ADV 150. I also have a CRF300L Rally. I love them all. The older I get the more I appreciate small bore bikes.
The seat is in the butt of the beholder. I own a '22 ADV 150 and I have no issues with the seat and the discomfort that you and other's I've seen report. I've never had an issue with sore butt or discomfort when riding; even for hours at a time. I'm only 5'8". But it comes down to body type/build and how you're put together. Many of the online complaints I've seen are from larger, heavier set people which doesn't seem to be the case here. No doubt that I would love a Corbin or other custom seat, but I can't justify the $400+ for something that I don't need. My local shop has an ADV 160 in stock, and I considered trading up. But for the modifications and a few more mph/hp, I can't justify the time/expense. To me, the more bells and whistles, the more to eventually fail. I will agree totally with the key FOB. I hate the damn thing. Give me a key to add to my key ring and I always know where it's at. The other thing not mentioned, is that you should take care to carry a spare button type battery replacement for it or change it out at the start of every riding season. If that battery in the FOB dies, so does your bike. Oh, and I'm looking at adding modular LED side lights, as I don't like the overall cast of the headlights for when I have to operate at night.
I have never rode on a scooter, or a motorcycle. Living in northern Wisconsin I am considering getting one for financial reasons. Up here it is hard to find a vehicle for $3-$4,000 that is not all rusted out underneath. I don't leave town that often, and spending 3-$4,000 on a NEW vehicle that gets me to work and the store, and the disc golf courses within 10 miles of town 6-7 months of the year that gets me more than 100 miles per gallon. I will go sit on one today at the local Honda dealer and see if that seat is to hard? Do they have other seats they can replace the original with maybe???
I'm originally from the Merrill / Wausau area in Wisconsin and rode a scooter around there for a few years. The rust belt is real, nothing lasts hardly! I can tell you that you'll appreciate the extra suspension travel on the ADV150 and for short trips like you're mentioning, I think the seat will probably be fine, but Corbin does make an aftermarket seat that looks very comfy. I would also say go try out a Honda CT125 as well. Lastly, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is finally hitting dealerships in the US and is going to be priced right around $4k, so that might be worth a look as well.
@@FreeTimeAdventures alright, thank you I think I will take the class at the local community college to get the Class-M license and spend 10 hrs in one weekend learning to ride a 125cc they have and that will tell me if it's something I want to pursue and purchase eventually.
I’m 5ft 10 I at 240 lbs. I love his scooter. I stay on paved roads most of time, but occasionally take to gravel rd or trail. My 2022 Honda ADV 150 was a perfect fit as soon as I sat on it. Once I test drove to check power band I was sold. With over 4,000 miles currently,I am very satisfied with performance and ride.👍😅
While engine is running you can open seat. The Honda ADV 150 comes with a select key 🤔which when cover is removed you can turn and open seat mechanical. It comes with Key Fob👍Maybe you should read the manual that came with your scooter. I have about 4,000 miles on my 2022 and I average about 108 mpg on my routine 45 mph runs.👍❤️
The Honda Helix was better. Get any of the Burgmans for less money and more power. Forget about off road on a scooter! XT225 has similar seat height and you can actually go off road!
Only if they had the honda adv 750 in usa geesh how they made the back on it look like a dirt bike or a motor cycle but the front looks how it does on the adv 150 usa sucks when it comes to getting certain motor bikes uk Malaysia gets them all
My biggest pet peeve is the buckling of the roads. It's like a speed bump. Several of those in a quarter mile and it starts to get uncomfortable. Not such a smooth ride then but hardly feel it in my car.
Simple buying idea🤔 If you can’t Flat Foot at a Stop Sigh the Scooter is too tall for you. 🤨 I learned this early on when buying my First Bicycle 🤔 If this practice is not followed, you will be the rider rolling thu all the Stop Signs🤨 An Accident waiting to happen😬
Lol, it's not as bad as you'd think. I'm wearing the Dakar jacket and pants from their off-road line of gear. The jacket is $299, and the pants are $249, unlike their premium line of gear, which is closer to $1500/$1000 for a jacket/pants...
