JUST SAY IT! It's the best handling, best riding and most practical mid size truck on the market. And yes that includes the Tacoma (two big thumbs down for the cramped interior), Frontier, Ranger, Colorado, etc. It's not designed to be a true off road truck but who the hell cares if you don't plan on using it for that purpose. And if you do you're stuck with the incredibly uncomfortable Tacoma. No thanks. I'd rather buy a Gladiator.
I agree about the interior spacing on the Tacoma. I was looking at the TRD Pro. Sat in it and felt so cramped. I’m not a tall guy by any mean. 5’11 185 lbs and felt so claustrophobic in that truck. I don’t even bother looking at the other trucks you mentioned. I’m a Honda guy all the way, but when it comes to trucks, it’s hard to beat Toyotas. But when I sat in the Ridgeline, it was a relief. Very well appointed and comfortable. Ordering a white Black Edition just like this!
Yes it’s literally a good pick up truck. It’s just the Honda Badge that prevents it from being considered a good truck. I think a mistake Honda made was not making trucks back in the 90s to grow its brand image as one. From what I hear and see the ridge line is just as good as the Tacoma. It’s the amount of truck anyone needs to be honest. Probably the best built one on the market aside from the Tacoma and Tundra.
no, its not worth over the $48k they're asking in 2023 Ridgeline is a nice vehicle with lots of tech if thats your thing and I like the design overall but 1/2 ton body-on-frame trucks can be had for $48k that are just as nice inside and out
I bought one about six weeks ago and LOVE IT!! I owned four new Tacoma's from 1998 to 2023. They were all great trucks but I wanted something different this time around. I have always liked the Ridgeline's appearance but had never looked at one close-up. Once I did and took a test-drive, I was sold. In all the years of Tacoma's, I never towed anything and never went off-roading. It's nice to know that I still can, even if there are limits. But then, don't just about ALL things come with some sort of limitations at a point? The comfort, roominess, capabilities and oh the ride are the best for a midsize truck. This is simply the best daily-driver for me and well worth what the price!
we actually just bought this truck today looks so much nicer in person . but the truck is not duel climate control it is triple climate control driver passenger and rear seat passengers and has a rear bed speaker witch plays good . thanks for the great videos
Great review! A couple things I found the US Black Edition model differs from the Canadian model. The US model does not have the rear climate control, the rear seats are not heated, it doesn't have power folding side mirrors, and it does not have ventilated front seats. What gives!
Im looking at the 2022 CA model and had the same setup as the US model for rear a/c control. The rear climate is controlled in the front. As other said is a tri control system.
@@Marbind Honda Canada got their pictures from Honda USA. The Canadian model comes with rear climate controls which also allow you to control the heated rear seats.
Honda should really just ditch the chrome on the RTL and RTL-E trim levels. No one wants the chrome. I mean they make you pay extra for the 'black edition', yet the base sport model has almost all the same blacked out pieces...
I traded my 2019 ridgeline RTL-T. And now have a 2021 RTL . Luv it. I most def love the locking tail gate. The rear doors will fully open up now. I only added LED high beams/ day time running lights! The only thing I don't like about it is when u open the door while it's out of gear. It goes into park! I'm most definitely will have that fix! My truck was only 38k
Hi, I have a 2021 RTL - I love the truck except for the non-LED high beams (and the push button shifter & stop-start system). How or where did you get the LED high beams?
@@stephenzopatti2001 o really I didn't know that. I just figured out u can push a button to stop the idle stopper and now I'm seeing if I can get it program about the driver stop/park situation! Thanks for replying
Great review, much appreciated. Looking to snag one of these, and although I know the Black Edition is simply a cosmetic upgrade, I think it will be worth it over the RTL-E (depending on the available deals / etc.).
Great truck but dealers are taking advantage of the situation and marking these up $5k-$10k on top of MSRP. Ridiculous. I'll wait a couple of years when the price insanity is over.
So odd to see a Black Edition Honda, in white instead of black. I am wavering between the 2022 Honda Ridgeline, the 2022 GMC Denali Canyon, and the 2022 Nissan Frontier. I have test drove the Canyon and Honda and the Ridgeline is is so much more comfortable to drive.
Im in the same boat as you - actually have a 2019 Canyon Denali with 60,000 miles on it. Since the time my Canyon hit 45,000 it has been back to the dealer three times: (1) Heater core failure, electrical problems causing and now the fuel pump/fuel system control module - nearly $5,000 in repairs out of pocket. The saving grace was that my wife wasn't in the passenger seat when heater core blew - had she been her legs would have been scolded very badly by hot coolant. Front carpets also needed to be replaced.
I wanted to go with the Ridgeline, but they want way way to much for it. I'm going with the Santa Cruz. It's a lot cheaper, longer warranty, and more free options. The Honda dealer wouldn't even deal with me.
I just traded my 2017 tundra crewmax trd off road for a 2022 ridgeline black edition the exact model in this video, extras including the bed cover and lighted running boards. I absolutely love this truck and Ive always said I’m Toyota for life. New tundra is garbage and tacomas are gutless off road trucks with the most u comfortable ride of all trucks(I’ve owned both so I know). I only need something to haul a dirt bike and occasional truck weekend type hauls. Don’t need a gas guzzling V8 for that lol. These are nice trucks and you get what you pay for. I paid today 52k total including tax for the above mentioned model. I don’t really want the running boards but it came with it so I’ll just take them off. Perfect truck!!!!
Maybe according to IIHS, but real life performance is very similar. Watch Chad Haire’s review on youtube of the 2021 ridgeline, he does a night drive and headlight test, they do great
Really liking the truck it exterior look is very nice but the interior is a bit old fashion which can be improve other than it best truck with best handling suspension and engine
It old fashion??? It’s black leather with red lining and under ton. It’s also got a 9” screen with apple play and navigation. The back window also slides open with a push of a button not to mention the moon roof 😂
What's with the "real truck" mocking. Trucks are literally built different. Ladder frame. So yes it's not a truck. It's an open bed cross over via unibody frame design. That's just a fact.
I just bought a 22 black today. I'm 6'2" tall about 270 lbs. there is about 3-4 inches above my head to the headliner. In a tacoma my head was rubbing the headliner. Very comfortable front and back. I couldnt really get in the back of the tacoma easily.
@@cliffordzellner5917 I know we’re in an age of inflation but I refuse to believe in 10 short years we’ve went from being able to buy a fully loaded tundra for mid 40s, to buying a fully loaded mid size for the same price.
I think the Black Edition with this set-up is worth about 30K, the new 2022 Tundra with the SR5 goes for 40,000...I doubt this will sell a lot of units, I think the value is there but it is too expensive for a mid-size truck.
However, competition like Ford, GM, Toyota will be priced the same. It's all relative New Nissan up trim might be less I think 42k for top trim so, going lower trim on Nissan, is a good bet Used to be on Ridgeline 42k blk edition out the door 39500 8n 2 years 45k out the door 44500. Chip shortage aside, Honda build less keeps demand high on these. Been that way for long time.
I will not buy one, F... that! I've heard 2023 is going to be even worse. Who every is designing this trucks must get fired immediately. This is ugly... people don't want ugly things
This truck is probably better built than any Ford truck that has come out since the early 2000s. If you seen the quality control of modern fords you’ll know.
