for anyone who has the iphone being locked issue, I had the same problem but once i turned off my personal hotspot, it worked perfectly for me!

This gave me hope to use my iPhone again, the "Keep Original" options is what fixed it for me, currently the easiest way for windows users to import is to use the Windows 10 "Photos" app and import from device. This would usually always fail, but when I changed from Automatic to Keep Original, all of my imports, large or small, went flawlessly thank you so much for making this video

Hi Daniel, thanks for this video! I still have 2 questions: 1. Is there also a way to find and delete duplicate photo's.video's from the phone automatically, so I don't download them twice? 2. If I first download photos from the phone, and then from Icloud, is there a way to not download pictures from Icloud that I have already have downloaded from the phone?

it worked!! if the phone doesn't appear, just disconnect and reconnect and click allow access on your phone.

Actually a legend. This method also helped me isolate corrupted video files that were the REAL reason holding up my import. After I found these 2 I could import normally on photos.

This was great and to the point. I do have a couple questions. Please excuse me if they have already been answered, I am a NOOB here. 1. Once the transfer is done from iphoto to mac, if I were to delete them from the iphone, I should still be able to access those photos from my mac, right since they are not part of icloud storage? 2. If I were to transfer photos from Mac to an external drive, would I lose photo quality? Thanks in advance!

Thank you! That worked perfectly. Photos sucks so bad it wouldn't even import my videos. It would start and then fail or just stop completely and tell me my iPhone was locked and I needed to unlock it when it was clearly not.
