Exactly. Doesn't do much good to go fast straight, if you can't effectively negotiate the approaching curve.

You might be kicking yourself in the pants if the ZX-4R happens to drop in the next few weeks!

@@ThefourthT6 I think the Ninja 400 will still be the better daily with a better torque curve than the ZX4R. I’m definitely excited for the release in 2 days but I think it will be more track focused and the Ninja 400 is a perfect balance of trackability and dailyability, however if you are solely looking for a track bike then that ZX4R looks incredibly promising and I can’t wait to hear that inline 4 as well.

@@ThefourthT6 The ZX4R is almost the same weight with almost twice the horsepower and a much higher powerband, not to mention it comes with a host of electronics like traction control, rider modes and a quickshifter. All those electronics result in a beginner not having to learn proper clutch control and throttle management in various weather conditions. It's not a bike for a beginner to learn on. The 400 is a better daily because of the low down torque and light weight, plus it's plenty of fun on a racetrack or a twisty road.

@@Rastei The Ninja 400 has a 168Kg kerb weight, and if you read my comment properly you'll see I said almost the same weight. So yes, they're almost the same weight.

Which exhaust do you have?

@@TysonMoto I have the full Yoshimura alpha exhaust with the TST industries tune, velocity stacks, MWR filter and modified airbox. Feels like a brand new bike once you open these up. Plus these take on a better look when you add the winglet mirrors, blacked out windscreen, fender delete kit and different exhaust. I get mistaken for a bigger bike all the time.

I am super excited by it as well. Need to do a proper comparison. On the surface it’s +30 horsepower but it’s also +30-40 pounds heavier.

The 500R is heavier too and adds no performance but also in this segment performance is relative they're all about the same lol... the 500 looks good tho it's the best looking small CC sport bike.

@@TysonMoto have subed, i have a 2018 GSXS 1000, I got it new back then , but due to health issues im trading it in and getting a new Ninja400 or Verseys300x.

It could be that your clutch cable slack needs to be adjusted. It's easy to do. There's nothing wrong with these bikes. I put about 13,000 miles on a Ninja 300 and never had a single issue. Everything worked flawlessly and the slipper clutch even saved my ass once when downshifting hard

@Nemiros are you putting enough pressure on the shifter lever when you shift?

I would upgrade your clutch components (replace clutch pack, stiffer clutch springs)

Hopefully Kawasaki announces a new ZX4R on Feb 1st.

Yeah I bought a 2022 Ninja 400 KRT ABS model. Put 5,500 miles on it and sold it, going to be picking up a 600cc or a 1000cc maybe I have a death wish

It depends. I actually started on a Ninja 300, then moved to a ZX10R. After 3 years, I'm back to a smaller Ninja. This time the 400. And I'm still loving it. Bigger motorcycles have their drawbacks too, and this 400 is still so much fun to ride even though I know what a really powerful motorcycle can do.

@@EdgarEndoJunior Not sure how long I can ride a 1000, Im considering more of a cruiser for longer rides but I can't imagine going back down to a 400, Something like a grom is fun but give me a few years and maybe ill change my tune.

There's no way you outgrew a ZX6R in a year lol unless all you do is ride in a straight line.

I agree the clutch is the weak point on the bike for sure.

@@MrZacattack1015 In Washington State. Its $11,995 for for an abs model. Destination and freight $435 & $300. Tax $1323.92. Licensing and doc fee $300 + $200. Prices all from Kawasaki website. We have really high vehicle tax 10.4%.

There is an entire MotoAmerica racing class for the Ninja 400. I’m not calling it a replacement for the 600, but it is a proper sport bike.
