I saw a white one at the Motor Show and that looked pretty special too. Ground up EV’s definitely win out over concerted models, pushing the wheels further into the corners gives you so much more useable space.
Great review sir, I wanted to test drive this model before ordering my first electric car but they didn’t had one available in the whole of East Midlands so I went for the Audi q4 instead. This seems like maybe a better choice for the extra range and that it had many options as standard for the gt line S
Thanks, good review as always, but I am a bit biased, had my GT s line AWD for 9 months now and love it. 20 inch wheels look gorgeous. You will only get 240 mile range in Winter and 275 in Summer, the 19 inch wheel models do a bit better, but that is OK for me. The massive rapid charge capability is wonderful, and I do not mind paying Gridserve, Ionity, or Fastned, yes they are expensive, but they usually work, and you only use them occasionally if you have a home charger.
Glad to here your enjoying yours John, the press driver said he got 336 out of one once really trying his hardest to conserve energy and with everything turned off. 270 was about where I was heading but with aircon.
I placed my order back in December for GT line S Matt steel, they said it would come in May. I think they ment "maybe". Then they said the Matt finish was going to be stopped. I got 166kw GT Line S 77.4kWh 5dr Auto [2022] 4k initial then 434 ove 47 months. I'm very close to pulling out
I have only had mine for 5 days now, I think everything that you pointed out is great, but one of the best features are the two-lane changing screens on the drivers' screen when you have your indicators on.
Yes, the blindspot cameras = Amazing. I've had that feature on several other review cars so must have overlooked it when it came to filming the review but I agree, it's genius.
Hi Jim I hope you are well. Great video as always. I test drove the same vehicle back in June/July and although a very nice car I must admit it didn’t impress me as much as I had hoped. Tbh it felt kind of ‘normal’ to me,especially as it was the first electric car I had ever driven. I few weeks after I test drive a Tesla Model 3 and was completely ‘wowed’ by it. I just found the whole driving experience way better and for around £5k less!…I appreciate the Kia has some advantages over the Tesla but still not a contender in my opinion. But as with everything iOS down to personal choice I guess. Anyway thanks for the video and I hope you and your family are all good👍
Hello mate, hope you guys are keeping well. I think the wow with these comes from sticking it in sports mode but it won;t pin you in your seat liek a performance Tesla for sure; you need fewer new pants as a result though. I think as an all-round car the EV6/IONIQ 5 are better in a few ways but the Tesla certainly wins when it comes to fun.
It’s a very good looking EV especially with that red paint. I like it. It’s quirky but not too ‘offensive’ love the back more than the front . and 7 years warranty it’s something that only Kia does.
I like it, but I like the look of the Ioniq 5 a fraction more 😀. How about starting to do a ‘front seat recline test’ in your reviews Jim? My Honda Jazz is great on seat incline: almost flat, and great for a snooze: I wouldn’t buy or lease another car now that couldn’t match it!
We are looking to send our leased Tesla 3 back. 1 yr in & not happy, either with the quality or terrible Tesla customer service. However prices have risen in parasitic amounts since & think we're stuck with it. The EV6 was the initial alternative, the waiting list was too long. We should have waited. 👍.
I did this, now have an EV6 but had a M3. There is life beyond Tesla and I'm loving the EV6, plus I'm not seeing one on the road every 5 mins and that exclusivity is refreshing.

Great suggestion, I will be updating a lot of best buy videos in coming weeks/months but they won;t be quite so specific as a 2 year window. Will probably be "under £5k, under £10k, under £15k" type videos
Anything you’d want has gone up by a similar amount in the past 12 months. Actually these days it’s easier trying to think of a product for sale that hasn’t gone up 20%
Obviously completely different depending on your tariff. If the car has a 70 kWh battery and your tariff is say 28p per kWh it'll cost you 70 x 0.28 to go from 0-100% charge (£19.60) but many EV owners have an EV charging tariff which means you can charge overnight for a fraction of that price. Find out what your tariff will be from October and you can work it out.
Exactly the same as now if you're on a cheap rate overnight tariff. Neither EDF nor Octopus have increased their Cheap rate EV tariffs. EDF's is still 4.5p per kwh, and Octopus Intelligent is still 7.5p per kwh. And it is still possible to get a fix until 2024 with some EV tariffs. The last time Octopus increased their overnight EV tariffs was quite a while back now. It increased from 5p per kwh, to 7.5p per kwh. A 50% increase. Yet even at 7.5p per kwh, it still yields a cost per mile of around 2p. So a long long way to go to become as costly as paying for petrol. And don't forget it is possible to get charged up for free at some places. I can't say I ever noticed any free petrol around when I ran a car with an engine...
I've got ev6 awd on order and my parents have had jaguar for over 3 years. Ev6 is a great car but I-pace drives noticeably better with its excellent air suspension
What is it with EVs and their near useless boots. Your dog will need to be Shergar to jump the 74 cms into this. I wonder if vets are noticing an increase in visits from people with pets who have damaged paws and sprains. And the extreme sloped boot lid will mean they'll have to sit right at the back of the boot if they're anything bigger than a Cockerpoo. EVs...and to be fair many SUVs are turning out to be man's worst friend.
