2022 KLR 650 Upgrades, Off-road Test 

Great video, John. I've held off on the KLR for one reason. Give me a 6th gear and I'm in!!

Great video showing real world capabilities of what the majority of KLR owners are going to do with this bike IF taken off road. Appreciate you sharing your skills with us all. Seems that the KLR can keep a very respectable pace on some fairly rough terrain without it appearing to be beating the bike or the rider to death.

Since you mentioned tubes, I thought I would mention a product called "Ride-On" it is kinda like slime but allegedly better because it helps with the balance of the tires as well. I have some, and just haven't put it in my bike yet. But I do believe it works great, I have ran it in my other bikes. Same principle of trying to eliminate flats on the trails. I know you didnt ask, I just passing along information. Just installed pt atv hi rise bars and ordered the rox risers. Did you have any issues with all the cables when turning bars to right and left? We’re they long enough after the mods?

I’m between that one and the adventure… can’t make my mind up. If the charging port isn’t that hard to install I’ll probably just get the tan one. Do you have the abs one?

I have the same combination of bikes,,,a 2020,kx450 and a 2022 KLR Adventure model. I just did the skid plate, extended shifter and bark busters so far. Did you have any trouble with the cables, as far as length go, when you added the handlebar risers?

I agree, I'm at 260ish miles and I've gone through almost 2 tanks. They are not highway miles though.

Hey John, nice video. I just bought a 2022 KLR last week. I’ve been ordering accessories already, as we all do! I’d like to change the exhaust and your link shows for a 2015. I’ve been trying to find out if the Gen 2 exhaust’s fit the Gen 3. Can’t seem to find a definitive answer anywhere. Was your pipe for a 2015? Thanks

as a note dont trust the fuel gauge i use my phone and enter miles between fill ups to get accurate fuel its like 3/4 full with only 1 bar showing on my 2022 Adventure KLR 650 not sure if its supposed to be this way.

This bike and CRF300 Rally are the same price , which one is better?
