SERIOUSLY!! You guys have got to develop a PASSENGER BACKREST for the KLR 650!! I don't know of ANYONE building one for the KLR! YOU GUYS are the ones to do it! SO DO IT!! BTW: I LOVE MY CENTER STAND!
Good job guys, I have been watching the feed back as well. Keep up the great work, may end up with a set on mine as well. I am slow to order, and there is no rush right now anyhow with all the shortages and what not. Thanks for what you guys do and keep up the great work. Dale
I just received one of your KLR extended shift levers. I am amazed at the quality of the part. Really nice. Way better....than factory! One trying to be helpful hint on these guards: The clamp below the seat looks cheezy on the videos. It looks thin. Other than that....it looks good! Will they be available in black also?
Thanks Ray for the comment! The clamp is definitely solid. This is an R&D version so everything is just tacked. They will only be available in black powder coat so the finished product will be much nicer than the R&D version :)
Why don't yous connect them over the fender? My friend hit a tree today and his crappy stock light bar helped save the bike. Maybe make it bolt on upgrade.
There is a shared mount point so the OEM lowers will not work together with our upper. There is debate as to whether the lowers are even necessary. This bike has never had them before and been fine for 40 years is what some guys would argue.
Pre-order is done, we are working on completing the install video and photos for the web this week. We are in production now. Did you have an order in already? If so the best thing to do is e-mail support@happy-trail.com to check current order status if you don't already have an estimated ship date e-mail but you should have received one.
You can keep the uppers but they share a mounting point with the factory "skidders" so the OEM skidders cannot be reused. If you're riding off-road you need more protection underneath than what the factory gives you such as a skid plate and for those doing more technical riding we do make lowers to replace the skidders that are 10 times stronger.
@@HappyTrailsMoto That’s not what I understood from the video. I thought that the lower and upper are separate and that they are not tied together at all. He even mentioned that the reason they changed the design is because people with adventure model didn’t want to get rid of their oem lowers.
@@issameQ Yeah, I can see where the confusion is. Let me see if I can clarify. The upper and lower are indeed separate. The purpose for the separation is because there was debate on whether the lowers are even necessary. Guys who don't have the adventure model would argue they aren't so the purpose is to give the option to only buy the upper, or you can buy both together if one feels they are necessary. There's never been a lower in all the years the KLR has been around and it's never been an issue if you have a well built skid plate which is the reason for the debate.
@@issameQ We haven't updated the part on the website so if you order now you get both. The price is going to go up when we separate them so it's a good time to score both.
