Motocross Action tests the 2022 KTM 350SXF at Glen Helen Raceway. The 2022 KTM 350SXF has an orange frame, some small changes to the engine, and a blue seat instead of the black on. This is a great bike when making the transition to a 450 from a 250 or for the rider that wants a happy in-between. Josh Mosiman talks from personal experience as a pro when he made the jump to bigger bikes and how the 350 could help that move. Motocross Action Magazine breaks down the details of the bike and what its like to ride on the track. Is the suspension better? Is the engine fast enough for the 450 class? After being a japanese fan boy for years, i went with this bike in august. Mostly due to the fact we will never see a japanese oem 350. I couldnt be happier with the decision. Maybe the fit and finish of the yamaha is a little better, but I really don’t have a single complaint about the 350.

@@user-wk9bu6xm7y yeah exactly, I’m coming off a cr250 for open desert. I loved riding 450s because it had plenty of power for everything I was riding, but just was so heavy when it came down to cornering. I just don’t wanna buy a 350 when it won’t be enough power for what I need. Maybe a 300tpi would be a better option for myself

@@KingCaz01 the power is amazing man. honestly i love the weaker map 1 because the power is so linear. Ive only ever had 250F's before this so i dont have any experience with a 450. After a whiskey throttle after a week of ownership on the 350 im sure glad it wasnt a 450 though!

Whats up with the wheels on ktm? My 22 I've had to torque the spokes like 5 different times and I only have 16 hours on it

This is a known shit since years.Also happend on my 250SX, only once on the front, but there really compeletely. Retighend it, and now it´s good. Rest of the bike is really ok.

Dose the 350 wear you out like a 450 from experience It's a huge difference on how much energy you spend riding the 250 & 450 even with the 250 2 stroke We have gotten a little lazy riding the 4 stroke

Depends on how you ride it tbh. I have a KX450F & 22' 350SXF. I found the 350 corners like a dream, more like a 250. Also you can ride it like like 450 and just lug it through the corners and then let the bike sing all the way through the rev range to the limiter. Or you can ride it aggressive high in the rev range and have that power hit always at your finger tips. The two maps are considerably different if I get tired or fatigued I use map 1 which is soft and smooth. Map 2 is more aggressive. I love my 350SXF It allows me to corner with more confidence. The 450 wears me out much faster.

@@shanemcmillin well said and i agree with that! ive only had yami 250f's but this 350 feels like you can throw it around more in my opinion. im probably a 350 rider for life now. Its the perfect size unless you're a full on racer or weigh 150lbs

All of the 350’s are the same bike…it would be a waste of time and money

@@jacksonstanfill1003 No they're not. All 3 are different in small ways but from what i've heard, those small changes are quite noticeable on the track.

Love 99% of all things 350 except the sound.......a guy can't race 2-strokes for 60+ years and then get good feelings about the 4-stroke "farting" of this bike. ........Yeah, I know I"m an old timer or some other derogatory phrase but, man, I just can't get used to a wound-out 4-stroke.

You're not riding because of the sound! Come on. Old timer here, been on two strokes for 20 yrs. Jumped on the 4s and will only go back if the 4s become unavailable. They are way easier to ride, and are much more fun. Less maintenace too.

KTM= Broken down in the shop instead of riding Yamaha=running bike thats actually ridable everyone Ive ever known who tried one of these 350s had them blowup constantly, not that every ktm doesnt do that, but for whatever reason the 350s are grenade, ktm may be minutely superior in some ways, barely any anmore to be honest, but the pros arent worth having a bike that is broken down more than its rideable, I started buying yamaha and I get to ride like 5 times as much now it was the best move i ever made, my bike doesnt blow every other ride

@@jordanthomas7043 well man i can tell you right now ive been racing harescramble my whole life, you might think your friend "revs hard" but from what ive seen of actually fast racers a bike is lucky to make it through one 3 hour race weekend without needing top end, much less 100 hours, if a there is a bike on this earth that can last 100 hours i wanna test it because i need one, I run vp fuel in my bike and top ends are lasting me maybe 10-15 hours of non race speed riding, noticable power loss around 10, race pace when im riding with fast friends or pushing it alot, maybe 6-10 and im noticing less pull after around 4, so if his bikes are lasting him 100 hours that is some type of miracle if hes actally running it hard, i guess maybe he likes riding a clapped out bike, sure it will still run, but has gutless power, i like crispy bikes man, 100 hours is fantasy
