Listening through headphones, the Mark Levinson sounds far better than the standard audio system. It is very unfortunate that Mark Levinson is not available as an option on the nx450h+ f sports.
So happy you reviewed this system i watched your review of the old one and now i am happy and convinced this is the car for me as a millenial and a sound lover
I love my music every time I drive too, and let me tell you, most mark levinson systems are some of the best balanced and least distortion. My 2006 IS sounds breathtaking lol. Gotta say though, the best will always be the new LX600 with its 26 speaker ML. That thing sounds better than most movie theaters lol. Can't go wrong with basically any luxury package lexus.
I disagree ML is not the best it's just JBL even Honda , hyundia and kia have a better sound system. They have bose and Harman Kardon. The ML isn't worth the money.
@@ericssonerick6972 idk about Honda I’d say the Bose systems do not go down the low frequencies like this does. Let alone Bose uses a lot of distortion to reproduce it’s so called bass. This sounds crip and clean. Hate to say it even though I am a Bose fan. This sweeps anything except the B&W
@@MalamIbnMalamI know this is late, but with those cars they probably already feel dated and potentially broken. With the Lexus, it’s always going to work the same way every time.
@Antony Chekhov honestly, I wouldn’t mind that set up. As long as it’s reliable, has ample power(0-60 less than 7.5 seconds), and good fuel economy(>30 mpg combined) it’s good. Plus you’d obviously expect it to be more luxurious, upscale, and premium than the NX.
That is kind of like comparing apples and oranges. The NX and the RX are completely different. The in NX is a very subcompact vehicle. While, the RX is more so of a family oriented vehicle. I don’t think you can choose wrong either way
@@kubanskiloewe That's their marketing strategy (countries in Europe) so that domestic products are not threatened with sales, even in my country imported luxury class cars with a cubication above 3000cc will be taxed 125%-200% of the initial price in order to save the local market (domestic products). In the early 4-5 years, Lexus was released in America because its sales beat imported products from Europe (luxury classes such as BMW, Mercedes and Audi and even Jaguar) including American products which were also threatened, finally the American government issued a tax on imported sedans, especially to Lexus ( government imported from Japan) which in fact at that time the Lexus sedan segment controlled the American market to balance the market too, but because at that time the suv was not taxed, finally Lexus issued an SUV and in the end it was still the Lexus Rx that dominated the American market again, but for SUVs, finally Lexus make it in canada (perhaps to avoid import taxes as well + reduce production costs). According to some consumers (including senior consumers) saying that Lexus cars are famous for being comfortable, quite ride/drive, reliable but don't have a driving experience + high engine performance like BMW and sophistication features owned by European brands such as Mercedes (not that it's lagging but incomplete) that's because with a lot of electronics it will have a high complexity and easily damaged (maintenance costs will be very expensive)
Ordered the 350h, 2 reasons, 17 speaker sound system is not available on the 450h+ in Europe(something to do with plugin charging space) and moonroof only comes in 350 ( something to do with torque limits). would be nice to include you track list(update) just seen on scrolling bar.
Hey man, I have the 17 speaker Mark Levinson NX 2022. Today I went in and I was listening to several tracks, hi-def through Bluetooth on the base 10 speaker pioneer plug in 450. The low's, the base on the Mark Levinson are leaps and bound better. The additional subwoofer, in the 17 speaker system is far superior. I would estimate about 60% better. The overall sound quality is better, Fuller. From the highs to the mids. In my estimation, if the mark Levinson is a grade, then the 10 speaker pioneer base system is C grade, NOT B grade, honestly. At higher volumes, it's honestly a fairly significant difference. Especially if you are enjoying r&b, hip hop, and more modern upbeat music.
Man i wanted that 17 speaker but for an extra 15k for the package i dont think it was worth it. I currently have a corolla and a rav4 standard so im sure anything greater than those 2 should be good on a lexus 🤣
@@MrWTFish I paid 64k for the 450k brother. I think you are think 45k for like a 350 turbo or 50k for 350h. Anyway. I was mistaken in my comparison: it's about 20 percent better and I would recommend to just turn the base 80 to 90 percent up. And use high quality stream maybe 320 instead of 192 or 128 or anything lower
@@jackreza504 yea i got spotify for the new car, i use my dads 2016 corolla and i got the 350h on premium package which doesnt include the speakers just the sun roof. I did really want the executive but only for speakers but i didnt see a reason to pay all that money if im not going to use or care about the other features 😅
@dailymotor, nice review. The only thing this is in regards to the apple carplay. To take advantage of the real estate you are supposed to press the icon on the bottom left corner of the screen, which will split the screen into 3 sections, maps, phone, and something else.
I've just subscribed your channel! Your audio systems reviews are amazingly great! They're truly excellent! 🏆 I've got a question: - does the USB pen reader support WAV files or FLAC (uncompressed audio quality)? Most of these sound systems nowadays only support MP3 compressed audio files that are not high-resolution or high-fidelity by any means! There's no CD player that plays basically uncompressed WAV files (16 bits, 44100 samples per second) either! Most of the time MP3 files sound bland, dull or a bit lifeless... They make me remember the Sony's Minidisc format that was very popular when I was a kid... My best regards. 🙏🍀
@@DailyMotor You're welcome, anytime! I really appreciate your kindness and your detailed explanation as well! I'm interested in the new Lexus NX. But I have remarkably good hearing capabilities, so I much prefer listening to high quality and high fidelity audio sources. I'm glad that you said that most factory car systems nowadays are supporting 'WAV' files through 'USB' flash drives... 🙏🍀 I have read a lot of complainings about people saying that they only are able to use compressed audio files on their cars, because WAV and FLAC codecs don't work with their own factory infotainment systems... They have got probably older cars or they might be the same models you mentioned! I'm much more confident now into getting the new Lexus NX with the optional Mark Levinson audio system! ❤ Thank you very much for your help, one more time! 🙏🍀
Thanks for the ML review. What did you think of the 350h driving impressions? How do you think the ML sounded in comparison to es/rx/ or GS ML systems?
350h is the best NX. Might have driving impressions at some point, but our video was pretty messed up. ML in NX is better than ES, slightly better than RX, not quite as impressive as GS, but the better infotainment is more than worth it.
I'm late to the party - but I traded a Lexus RX350 with the 12 speaker Premium (non ML) system in on an Acura RDX ELS 3D - and I really miss the big touch screen. I used the trackpad most of the time so I was OK with the Acura trackpad... but the screen is smaller. I went and tested an RX350 with the ML - and was blown away. It was much better than my RDX with the ELS 3D system. So I'm probably going back to a Lexus so I can get the ML - but is the ML in the NX as good as the ML in the RX? The RX blew me away with how much louder, clearer and amount of bass it had over my Acura ELS 3D. The ELS may have it beat at very low volume, more bass at very low volume, but I like to crank it. Probably trading my RDX in - just no NX with an ML there or on the way so I can't experience in person and will likely need to order - we only have 1 dealer within a few hundred miles of my house so I can't shop around. If the NX is the same/better than the RX then I will definitely order one.
I just tried to built my next rx500h. But it won't let me add Mark levinson and 14 inch screen at same time. I don't know why. Do u know why that happens to me?
I like driving with CDs and I’m a 24 year old dude. It’s nice to not feel the need to pick which track you want and fidget with your phone the whole time. You just pop in a CD, leave the phone behind, and go
What is the best way to listen to lossless music in Lexus NX? It doesn’t have FS player anymore. I am currently playing music via wireless apple carplay but not sure if this is the best way.
Thanks! I don't think many people do, but I would imagine some people move it back if kids want to listen to music and the parents don't want to hear it.
I used it in my 2008 versa with the Rockford Fosgate audio system that was an option for that car. I usually put it to the rear 1 or 2 notches. Having it in the middle at high volume caused the fronts 2 distort slightly at the highest levels but the fronts were always 2 high and you can take advantage of the sub that produced got bass that was mounted in the rear hatchback on the driver side.
For a USB device, what formats are compatible? xFat, fat32? I have a MAC and am curious about this. Also, how is the music organized? Artist - album - songs?
hmmmm, you are counting the drivers themselves. the tweeter, mid, & woofer would technically count as 1 speaker or, 1 channel. new cars are doing Dolby ProLogic & DTS Neo upmixing to create a surround sound effect from any 2 channel (stereo) source you run through it. so really, your car has, 5 or six channels of sound.
I've ordered the 2022 NX 350 turbo AWD F Sport without the enhancement pack that has the Mark Levinson audio system. Is it worth the upgrade over the standard 10 speaker pioneer system?
@Daily Motor Hey Charlie, I see to remember some other songs you used to use in the older videos. Do you have a list of everything you've put in your videos? Thx!
Hmmmmm, I don't think there are many songs I used to use that I don't now. Maybe just at the very beginning of sound tests. Could you find a link to a video that you have in mind? Songs should be listed in the description of each one.
I have M/L in my GX. With the NX M/L hasn't lost his touch - Now... If I could only do the same thing in the house... FWIW: M/L has wireless headphones for $1K, his amps start at $10K
Grandpas got the NX without mark levinson. Im upset by how underwhelming the Lexus sound system is on these cars. Even my mom's hyundai palisade sounds way better (base model without the upgraded sound system)
Just got my nx350h with mark levinson 2 weeks ago, so disappointed by the audio system, one of the worst branded audio systems I’ve ever experienced. The audio is extremely concentrated, minimum surrounding effects especially in vertical direction. You can clearly hear that the audio comes from below and you are above the audio field. I previously owned 2019 Acura rdx with ELS Studio 3D, which has speakers in the ceiling, and 2019 Volvo s60 with B&W system. Both systems are way better than the ML in NX and didn’t make me feel that no sound comes from above. I feel like the Bose system in the 2022 civic is slightly better than the ML😤😤😤 I hate how they marketed the “2 in 1” speakers as 2 speakers, where it’s more like 1. The 17- speakers ML system sounds more like an 8-10 speaker system to me.
You are absolutely spot on. I’ve tested the ML system in the ES and NX and can’t believe these are from the same company. I believe NX places the speakers in the same location as the Rav4.
The big hunk of cheap plastic above the glove box with nothing these ruins the interior for me. Makes it feel cheap, they should of added a design or something to it because it looks bland and cheap
sorry but doing a sound test of a car through youtube is one of the sillier things you can do. It has nothing to do with how the car sounds and will be all about what speakers you have on your computer
