Here are my safari highlights of 5 days in the Masai Mara National Reserve and the Amboseli National Park. We have seen all of the Big 5, which includes the Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino, and Leopard. The Rhino was the most elusive, as we could only spot it at a far distance. We were also fortunate to see the UGLY 5. They have been named uglies because of what they consume. Most of the members within this group are scavengers, except for the wildebeest and the warthog. The ugly five include the wildebeest, marabou stork, warthog, vultures, and the spotted hyena. I also opted for a Hot Air Balloon ride with Balloon Safaris. I hope I've captured your imagination of the vastness of the Masai Mara and it wildlife. It was also a special treat to spend a day in the life of a Masai village and participate in some of their daily activities, learn their way of life and even interact with their children in a nearby school.
