Having driven countless CX9s on road trips between Toronto-Cornwall I’ve got to say I love them. Super comfortable, quiet on the highway. I really like their infotainment as well. I prefer a scroll wheel instead of a touch screen. I also really appreciate the power train. It’s nice that you hardly have to downshift when accelerating. It feels more lively than a lot of V6 competitors honestly. My biggest issue with them is the fuel range just isn’t there. Wish Mazda would give their vehicles bigger gas tanks.

I like how they were able to keep the same styling for several years without having to do major refresh/ entirely new designs, just look at how many changes Hyundai had to make throughout the lifetime of this Mazda styling. There’s something to be said for doing it right the first time 🤞🏻

Mazda has really brought some great vehicles~ They're definitely a sleeper in the world of Japanese auto manufacturers, but I got to say that this CX-9 is great and looks fantastic too. Very interesting that Mazda is still using their well-known 6-speed automatic in this day and age, but hey 6 gears is kinda the sweet spot for good acceleration and fuel economy, and Mazda's 6-speed is probably one of the best 6-speeds I've seen at least. Also nice to see up-to-date tech, and also, nice, easy to read analog gauges, which I love. Not to in-your-face, which I love, and nice to see Mazda keep this car very user friendly, too.
@mattmolloy636
@mattmolloy636 Год назад
Idk if they’re sleepers exactly, for a relatively small auto manufacturer their sales figures are pretty big. Keeping that 6 speed automatic is one of the best parts of their products; everyone else in their segments are running CVT’s, and it’s really hard for me to get used to the fake gear shifts in my Rav 4 Prime. Their well designed cabins and exterior styling have worked to their advantage too, just look at how many times Hyundai has had to redesign their vehicles throughout the years while Mazda didn’t have to. I appreciate how a small brand like Mazda keeps the MX-5 in their line up as well, it’s clearly the best car in its segment and they’ve put so much into perfecting it when the sales numbers haven’t always justified the attention they give it. The only complaint I have is the lack of engine options, if they made a naturally aspirated six cylinder (or a 4 cylinder plug in hybrid) putting out close to 300hp idk if I’d ever consider buying from anyone else (as long as they didn’t need to partner up with another brand and use their engine like the Supra). I have a Rav 4 Prime and a Lexus ES 350, and Mazda’s top trim models feel more akin to the Lexus save for maybe cabin noise while driving.

Hi. I am back. I watched your video on the 2016 CX-9 signature and decided it was the best choice I could make in 2017. I will be hard to convince to trade to one without a (red Napa leather) middle bench, because pet compatibility. It has been flawless except when I did the coolant service myself, and did not use Mazda coolant. I bought a water pump and learned a lesson. The design elements I like best, is that the front lighting, almost perfectly matches the rear lighting. Very much like a 72 Imperial-which is the only production vehicle I can remember using those styling cues. If I had a complaint, it’s proportions make me feel like AMC Pacer owners must have felt in 1975. But you get used to that. The 2016 model of this vehicle is one of the best automotive choices I’ve made in 57 years. Thanks for your video sir. Cheers.

I bought a new 2021 Mazda CX-5. I believe the CX-9 has the same engine. It has burned engine oil from day one and getting progressively worse. I looked up and found a bulletin for my car to be repaired. I took it in and they agreed that my car fell under that bulletin according to the VIN but, that I had to wait for the engine light to come on. By my calculation that won't happen until one oil change after my warranty is up. I only have 15,000 miles on it. Worse yet is that the RU-vid posts from Mazda or it's dealerships take out negative reviews. Sleezy. Don't take a chance and buy Mazda’s. They don't stand by their products.
